Map of base stations of mobile operators beeline. How to install cell towers, and what is the price? Where do the coordinates of the base station come from?

Published 22.04.2015 by Johhny

Cellidfinder is a simple and convenient location finder service base stations mobile communication GSM standard and plotting them on the map. The article contains detailed instructions to find the location of GSM base stations using this service.

What data is needed to localize BS?

In order to find the coordinates of a base station sector, you need to know 4 parameters:

 • MCC (Mobile Country Code) is a code that identifies the country in which the mobile operator is located. For example, for Russia it is 250, the USA - 310, Hungary - 216, China - 460, Ukraine - 255, Belarus - 257.
 • MNC (Mobile Network Code) is a code assigned to a mobile operator. Unique for each operator in a particular country. A detailed table of MCC and MNC codes for operators worldwide is available.
 • LAC (Location Area Code) - local area code. In a nutshell, LAC is the union of a number of base stations that are served by one base station controller (BSC). This parameter can be presented in both decimal and hexadecimal form.
 • CellID (CID) - "cell ID". The same sector of the base station. This parameter can also be presented in decimal and hexadecimal form.

Where can I get this data?

Data is taken from a non-monitor. Netmonitor is a dedicated application for mobile phones or other devices that allow you to find out the engineering parameters mobile network... There are a huge number of non-monitors on the network for various devices... Finding the right one is not a problem. In addition, many modern GPS trackers in conditions of poor satellite reception can send the owner not the coordinates, but the parameters of the base station (MCC, MNC, LAC, Cellid) to which they cling. Cellidfinder will help you quickly translate these parameters into an approximate BS location.

Where do the coordinates of the base station come from?

The search for the coordinates of base stations is carried out in the Google and Yandex databases, which provided such an opportunity. It should be noted that as a result of the search, we get not the exact location of the tower, but the approximate one. This is the location in which the largest number of subscribers were registered who transmitted information about their location to google servers and Yandex. The most accurate LAC and CID location is determined by using the averaging function, which calculates the coordinates of all sectors (CellID) of one base station, and then calculates the average value.

How to work with CellIDfinder?

In order to start working with the CellIdfinder base station location search service, you need to install any non-monitor on your smartphone. Here's one good option. Turn on the downloaded application and look at the required parameters.

In this case, in the non-monitor window, we saw:
MCC = 257 (Belarus)
MNC = 02 (MTS)
LAC = 16
CID = 2224

We enter these parameters into the search form on. Because LAC and CID can be displayed by the nonmonitor in both decimal and hexadecimal forms, then the search form has auto-completion for LAC and CID in the second form. We select "Google data", "Yandex data" and, if high accuracy is required, "Averaging". Press the button "Find BS".

As a result, the coordinates for this sector of the base station were obtained. Moreover, the coordinates for the Google and Yandex databases almost coincided, which means that it can be assumed that the BS are built on the map quite accurately.

Having decided to buy a SIM card of any mobile operator, we do not even ask ourselves whether it will work in a particular region. We do not ask these kinds of questions because we are confident that the coverage area is everywhere. Beeline is also not immune from this.

The operator's cell towers are located in all regions of our big country... All of them are capable of transmitting a 4G signal. This type of network is new and much faster than its predecessors. But the company is not limited to this and is constantly expanding. This is done so that all subscribers of the cellular operator can always stay in touch.

Features of 4G from Beeline

To attract as many customers as possible, the operator began to actively upgrade its cell towers to 4G networks. This company was one of the last to start updating its network to this type of communication. However, this gave huge advantages in terms of stable data transfer to maximum speed up to 100 Mb / per second. Thanks to the installed base stations, Beeline LTE, which allows it to operate at a frequency of only 900 MHz, brought it to the first place among competing companies.

IN currently the company is working on a new 5G connection that will allow data transfer rates of up to 200-300 MB per second. The launch of this connection is scheduled for 2020. By this time, even the most remote corners will be equipped with base stations. Russian Federation... If we compare the signal reception of the Beeline operator and any other operator in a closed room, it turns out that the company has a huge advantage in the frequency of reception and transmission of the signal, without any delays or interference.

Beeline operator network coverage area

The first city where the company launched a 4G network as an experiment was Moscow. Testing began in the central part of the city, gradually going beyond this zone and spreading to the entire territory. Today the fourth generation of the network can be enjoyed in more than eighteen regions of Russia. What gives the company the right to take first place among operators cellular communication.

If we consider the example of cities such as Elista and Maykop, it becomes clear that given view the network covers 80% of the territory of these cities, previously it was only 10-15%. The use of the 4G LTE network provided by Beeline operates even on the territory of the Yuzhno-Sakhalin region, which is the most remote region of the Russian Federation.

The company has carried out measurements of the highest data transfer rate in most of the territory of Russia, during which it was found that the highest speed indicator at the moment is 70Mb / s.

These measurements are a direct basis for the development and achievement of great results in data transmission.

On the official website in open access posted a map of the Beeline coverage area. To study it in detail and understand whether there is such a type of connection in your region, it is enough to go to the "coverage and offices" section, where, by choosing one or another network option, you can see the signal coverage area.

If, when examining the coverage area, you notice an LTE network, do not be upset, this is the same 4G connection, only in a more advanced and lighter format. The Beeline company actively operates the 4G + option, which allows the use of data transfer at speeds up to 150 Mb / per second. Which is undoubtedly another undeniable advantage of other operators. However, like most, Beeline cannot be called ideal.

What if the connection has flaws or is completely absent?

It happens so that there is no coverage area in a certain place of the settlement. This is not the company's fault, but most of it depends on the location of the geolocation cell tower, which may be caused by difficulties in receiving cellular signal or its complete absence.

What are the reasons for this?

This happens due to the strength of the reflected signal. Such a signal is capable of appearing in places just shouldn't be. For example, on a mountainside or on a separate part of a forest. Such phenomena are explained by radio wave activity and the peculiarities of its propagation.

Now let's talk a little about the disadvantages. All innovations or improvements have their drawbacks, and 4G LTE also has one. Such a network consumes a very large amount of energy. At present cell phones there are still not enough people capable of working in a network of this kind, as evidenced by the presence of only voice data transmission. Beeline continues to be one of the leading operators, despite the problems with communication in small settlements in several regions.

How to influence the solution of problems with cellular communication?

We are unlikely to be able to exert any influence on a cellular operator so that it installs additional stations or towers. But it is quite possible to influence the possibility of correcting communication problems by tuning antennas or new measurements of equipment. To do this, in the absence of communication in some densely populated localities of the Russian Federation, although it should be there, you should apply with a written request to correct and correct this situation.

In contact with

In this article we will cover the topic of what a Beeline coverage area is, as well as how to find out about its condition in a particular region and solve connection problems.

Beeline coverage map and its features

After examining the map of the location of the operator's communication towers, you can see that the whole country is covered by them. But communication is not always present where there are well-equipped stations. mobile operator... Why so, you ask.

Many users who do not know about the peculiarities of mobile communication attribute problems with it to the service operator. But this is far from the case.

The quality of the network depends on many factors:

 1. Insufficient signal transmission power from base tower or wrong direction of antennas.
 2. Uneven distribution of base stations due to the peculiarities of the geographical location and architectural development of the settlement, as a result of which there is an incomplete coverage of the territory.
 3. The quality of communication also depends on the density of the building area, the layout of the building in which the subscriber is located, or even the thickness of its walls.
 4. Weather conditions play an important role - so, rain greatly affects the bandwidth of communication channels.

Mainly about the quality of communication and coverage the subscriber wants to know in the following cases:

 • Buying real estate (most often outside the city).
 • Going on travel, picnic or vacation.
 • Going on a business trip.

Below you can see the coverage map:

By the way, on the map, large cities are mainly shown with the best signal, but remote settlements, so to speak, the outback, cannot boast of this.

But here a surprise may await you - although the tower may not be indicated on the map, the operator's communication in this area can be quite bearable.

What is the reason for this? Most often, the reflected signal takes part in this, although small inaccuracies in the compilation of the coverage map cannot be ruled out.

Where can you catch 3g and 4g signals from Beeline?

Having carefully studied the Beeline coverage map, you will notice that the Internet of these categories is not everywhere. Best signals 3G technologies can be accepted in the central part of the country, but in the eastern and northern regions this situation is worse.

As for the Internet using 4g technology, the coverage here is much more modest. Base stations with this signal are located pointwise, from which the signal is also not picked up by all users of the operator.

4g Internet can be used by residents of the megacities Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as their regions. Also, such an advantage has the inhabitants of certain central regions of Russia.

In other regions of the Russian Federation, 4g signals appear only in the largest cities - the administrative centers of the regions where the Beeline LTE base stations are located. This service is provided in 11 regions of the country, each year increasing the volume to cover more and more new territories.

Signal reception problems and how to solve this problem

As mentioned above, the absence of a signal or its poor quality takes place everywhere. And the operator is not always the reason. Now we would like to tell you what you can do if you have on your phone bad signal operator.

Of course, complaining about a small number of base stations or their insufficient power, you will not speed up the process of installing new and upgrading old ones.

But by sending a request to the operator indicating your location and the characteristics of the signal that you are receiving, you can be sure that the operator will definitely consider this request and check the settings of his stations in this region, which may just need additional correction. That is why it is very important for Beeline feedback with your users.

In addition, the problem may lie in the gadget itself, which simply does not receive a signal due to the fact that this type of communication is not supported by it. To avoid this, during the acquisition of equipment, be sure to ask the seller about the functions of receiving communication signals.

To solve problems with connection in remote areas of the region, where the signal is poorly penetrated, you can install special cellular amplifiers in the country.

It is also worth paying attention to the time of registration on the network. The fact is that during peak hours, when the network is experiencing a large influx of users, the signal dissipates and it simply may not be enough for everyone, or its quality starts to "lame".

The overall result

In order to be in touch, users need to have an idea of the quality of communication in the area where they are located. To do this, the Beeline operator posted a very accessible map of its network coverage on its website. If the subscriber is not satisfied with the signal quality, the company is always ready to listen and assist in solving the problem. In addition, today the solution to many connection problems is not limited to adjusting the antennas at base stations, but you can find out which solutions to problems exist in this article.

Introduction

One of the first questions that arises when you are connected to the mobile Internet is the question of the location of the base station of the operator of your choice in order to point your antenna in its direction. It is advisable to find out the exact coordinates of the tower and the relief to it in order to understand whether it makes sense to use the tower to receive a signal. Services and various android applications do not give the exact coordinates of the BS, tk. based on measurements and their mathematical processing. In this case, the error can reach several kilometers.

Often the coordinates of the tower can be established by studying operator coverage maps, terrain, Google and Yandex maps, as well as the opportunities they provide to view photographs and panoramas of the studied area. I must say that BS on the map can not always be found. There may be many reasons for this - the maps are outdated, the BS is located on the roof of the building and is simply not visible on the map, the tower is small, etc.

BS parameters are unknown. Kostroma region

Given: coordinates 57.564243, 41.08345, the village of Kuzminka in the Kostroma region. The task is to determine the exact coordinates of the BS to which you can connect to receive 3G-signal.

We will consider the search for BS in steps.

Step 1. Analysis of coverage maps.

We will use a well-known servicehttps://yota-faq.ru/yota-zone-map/ , which shows the coverage areas of four operators, except for Beeline. I note here that the Beeline coverage presented on their off-site is almost impossible to use - as a rule, a continuous coverage is shown there that does not take into account the terrain.

The most interesting from the point of view of connection are the coverage areas of Megafon and MTS. You can see for yourself by opening the service, pasting coordinates into the search bar and switching operators.

Megaphone coverage area:

MTS coverage area:

From the analysis of the Megafon coverage area, we see that 3G BSs are most likely located in the directions of Krasnoe, Sukhonogovo, Lapino (on this scale, Lapino's map is not visible, it is southwest, approximately where the P-600 mark is).

The coverage area of MTS is more interesting. Here we also consider the direction to Sukhonogovo and Krasnoe. But Red is a more interesting option, because there is 4G coverage. The distance to Krasny is about 10 km, if MTS distributes 4G at a frequency of 1800 MHz, that is, there is every chance to establish communication with one of the MTS BSs located in this settlement.

Step 2. Study of the terrain.

The relief up to Red is not easy, but quite penetrable. To assess the relief, we will use the service https://airlink.ubnt.com. If this is your first time on this site, then first you will need to go through a free registration procedure. Having opened the service, scroll the slider down to the end and enter the initial data in the lower right corner, as shown in the following figure.

I usually first enter the same coordinates in both windows, and then I begin to move the purple label to the points of interest to me, where the BS may presumably be. In this case, the relief, line of sight and the approximate size of the Fresnel zone are displayed in the upper right corner of the screen.

For our coordinates we have:

Checking the relief in other "suspicious" directions showed that the relief there is much worse. Thus, we decided on the direction and at the same time chose the operator - MTS.

Step 3. Clarification of our choice using the "Quality of Communication" service

The service opens at the following address https://geo.minsvyaz.ru. IN search bar set the name of the village Kuzminka, switch the view from 4 windows to one-window mode, scale the map to a convenient size and get for the MTS operator:

We see that our choice is correct, because according to the measurement database of users of this service in Krasnoye there really is good coverage 4G from MTS.

Let's zoom in on this map and see that the most likely location of the tower (or towers) is Sovetskaya and Okruzhnaya streets.

Step 4. Exploring the area using Google and Yandex maps.

These maps have a useful tool for studying the area - panoramas and photographs of the area. Google maps have much more panoramas of various areas than Yandex, so you often have to use Google when looking at panoramas. On the other hand, Yandex has more photos taken in different locationsBesides, Yandex maps are usually more relevant for Russia. In this regard, you have to use both services. It uses Google maps and services.

So, we found out that we need to consider two streets in Krasny in search of BS. We launch Google maps, enter the approximate coordinates of st. Sovetskaya (or street name) and we get:

Street view is on here, the street we need is highlighted in blue on the map. You can get a panorama of the street by clicking the mouse anywhere on the blue line. Moving in this way along the street to the north, we find the first BS near the post office:

And finally, not far from the intersection of Sovetskaya and Okruzhnaya streets, a third tower is discovered, the highest one found:

We return to the map and find the shadow of this tower in the place where the photo points:

We mark this place on the map with the mouse and get the exact coordinates of the BS:

Let's summarize some of the results of our research. With the help of information obtained from the analysis of coverage areas, custom measurements of signal strength in the area of interest to us and study of the area from photographs and panoramas, we were able to find three base stations and their exact coordinates in a city that we have never been to. The question of which operator the found BS belongs to remains open, since the answer to it requires additional research. The easiest way is to drive along the route and measure the BS parameters using some android application that gives MNC, MCC and signal strength. Some of these applications are presented.

The BS parameters are known. Suburb of Penza

As you know, a number of android applications, as well as the HiLink modem interface and the MDMA program can give BS parameters, with the help of which known services and applications can give approximate BS coordinates, which makes it easier to find specific BS coordinates on maps. Some of these tools are reviewed in the "" section of the Antex website.

Consider specific example from the forum, the example is based on the topic. User coordinates

Very often you and I have to look for a mobile Internet zone for more better access from wireless network.
For this purpose, a unique 4G network coverage map of Russia was created. Signal inconsistency wireless often leaves much to be desired and many cellular subscribers get a lot of trouble with constant signal loss.

Yota 2G, 3G and 4G coverage

The new provider, with the first 4G frequencies in Russia, was formed in 2006. Already in 2008, the first in Russia Wimax 4G network was launched. Through trial and error, it was gradually decided to switch to the more promising LTE technology. Now Yota is one of the subdivisions of Megafon - one of the “ Big three"Monopolists of cellular communications in the country. This company is interesting because it still has unlimited tariffs and options.

Beeline is not as active as in the past, but in some parts of our country it has a very large subscriber base. Cellular communications have been modernized and now LTE Internet has become a reality for Beeline. 05/15/2018 we added to the general coverage map - the network area of this provider. It should be noted that this is a people's map obtained from the open sources of the geo.minsvyaz.ru site. It is for informational purposes only and cannot be used to accurately determine the presence of a signal on the Beeline network. Therefore, this network has not been added to the 4G selection button. But a visitor to our resource can evaluate the network zones of this cellular operator.

Coverage area of MTS 2G, 3G and 4G

MTS network coverage is updated regularly and our visitors can see the most new card of this mobile operator. The color scheme is distributed in the following order:
