The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is middling with a great camera. Sony Xperia XA1 Plus review: the middle of the frameless line

The Sony XPERIA XA1 Plus is the mid-sized smartphone in the current XA1 lineup. But, surprisingly, they ask for it in retail, as well as for the larger XA1 Ultra, although in terms of filling it is closer to the base model Sony Xperia XA1.

Sony has become one of the few large and well-known manufacturers who decided to build their smartphones based on SoC from MediaTek. In the case of the entire XA1 line and the Plus model in particular, this is the MediaTek helio P20 (MT6757). The displays are different for all models of the line. The younger one is equipped with a 5-inch HD-display, the XA1 Ultra - a 6-inch FullHD-display. The tested smartphone got a display with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The cameras of the base model of the XA1 line and the tested smartphone are the same, while the older smartphone of the line is equipped with a more advanced selfie camera. But the XA1 Plus has the advantage of a significantly larger battery. In general, it can be seen that the manufacturer tried to expand the range of devices presented in such a way as to prevent cannibalism within its own lineup.

Appearance and usability

The design of Sony smartphones, referred to as "Loop Surface" or "looped surface", for several years has already become boring for some, and some are still delighted with it. In general, there is no general average opinion, as in the case of Samsung or Apple smartphones. Opponents of this approach in design complain about the lack of at least some kind of development, frayed pants pockets due to sharp corners, as well as large dimensions. Supporters, on the other hand, focus on recognition in the general mass of faceless devices. And what a sin to hide - I liked the design of smartphones rhinestone. But if in older models the lower and upper ends are made of aluminum panels decorated with small chamfers, then the entire XA1 line is content with plastic inserts, which makes the smartphone look much simpler. Yes, they did not spare metal on the left and right side edges, but this is not so striking.

Upon visual inspection, there are no comments on the build quality. When trying to twist, the smartphone gives in a little, but does not make any sounds. Unfortunately, during such executions, rainbow stains appear at two points on the screen. It seems that this has already become a tradition of the entire modern line of Sony Xperia smartphones. However, during normal daily work with a smartphone, distortion on the screen is unlikely to be noticed.

The display is frameless, which looks very interesting taking into account the use of 2.5D glass and the bending of the side panel. Above the display there is an LED indicator, a front camera window, a light sensor, and an earpiece.

Sony cheated a little by installing a decorative grill at the bottom of the front surface, under which, by analogy with the XZ line, in theory, there could be a second speaker that provides stereo sound reproduction. I could, but there is only a microphone.

From the back, only the camera module and the built-in LED flash are visible.

On the left side surface, you can see a tray for installing a pair of nanoSIM SIM cards, as well as a separate slot for installing microSD media, for which the smartphone gets a plus in the piggy bank.

On the right side surface there is a volume rocker key, a lock key with an integrated fingerprint reader, as well as a dedicated photo key that allows you to call the camera application and take photos even with winter gloves. A trifle ... and your hands are warm.

At the top there is a microphone and an analog audio mini-jack (3.5 mm). At the bottom there is a USB Type-C connector and a system speaker.

Display

The smartphone under test has a display diagonal of half an inch larger than the base model of the XA1 family - 5.5 versus 5.0 inches. But the difference is not only that. Higher and resolution - 1920x1080 against 1280x720. In addition, the display supports up to 10 simultaneous touches, while the Sony XA1 allows no more than 4. The viewing angles of the IPS matrix are very large, and the colors are not inverted even when viewed from an acute angle. But the contrast with a deviation of the viewing angle drops quite significantly, and the dark shades brighten. However, this often does not become a problem. The display brightness is quite high. At the maximum power of the backlight, the level of 473.99 cd / m2 was recorded on the white field. Unfortunately, the brightness of the black field is also quite high (0.53 cd / m2). The static contrast ratio is 894: 1, which is a very good result.

The display settings provide three modes of operation: standard, "image enhancement" and "maximum brightness mode". As measurements and visual observation showed, there are practically no differences in these modes, therefore the test results are given only for the standard mode. The deviation of color on shades of gray is relatively small - from 1.5 to 10.2 (it increases with increasing lightness). On primary colors (CMYRGB) Delta E does not exceed 5.2 at all. Of course, this is more than the limit value 3, above which the human eye is already able to catch the difference, but in practice this is difficult to notice. The color balance is shifted towards cold shades, and the color temperature is slightly overestimated - 7544 ... 8343 K. The settings provide for manual control over the RGB channels, so if you make some effort, the color reproduction can be tightened to a more correct one. Surprisingly, the settings do not provide a "blue filter" function, which reduces eye strain during prolonged reading, although this function is gradually becoming standard, such as adaptive backlight brightness control.

Sound

The smartphone is equipped with only one system speaker, although its whole appearance hints at the presence of a pair of dynamic emitters. However, the single speaker sounds surprisingly good. There were no obvious defects such as squeak and noise. Of course, there is no bass at all, and the high-frequency range is poorly worked out, therefore, even for listening to the audio track of music videos, the speaker is hardly suitable, but for watching a movie in the field it is quite suitable. In addition, the volume margin is quite sufficient - when playing a test sinusoidal signal with a frequency of 1 kHz at a distance of 1 meter, a level of 75.3 dBA was recorded, which is more than twice as loud as in the case of the Sony Xperia XA1, and is also comparable to the result of the current flagship, the XZ Premium, which is equipped with a pair of speakers. The signal strength at the analog audio output is low, but sufficient for low-impedance headphones, which are the majority among in-ear headphones. When playing a test signal with a load of 32 Ohm, a level of 262.2 mV was recorded.

The tested smartphone has fewer different "uluchshayzers" than the recently reviewed one, but they are still there. There is a dynamic normalizer, Clear Audio + function, surround sound adjustment function, as well as the already familiar 5-band equalizer with a dedicated bass control (Clear BASS). To assess the sound quality, we used the Right Mark Audio Analyzer package, as well as the Creative E-MU 0204 USB audio interface. All special effects were disabled during testing.

Total Result 24 bit / 48 kHz

Performance

The smartphone is based on the Mediatek Helio P20 (MT6757) system-on-chip. This SoC is equipped with 8 Cortex-A53 cores, half of which are clocked at up to 2.3 GHz and the other half at up to 1.6 GHz. The video subsystem is based on the Mali-T880 MP2 with a frequency of 900 MHz. The amount of RAM is 4 GB.

System performance was measured in synthetics PCMark, 3DMark, Geekbench 4 and AnTuTu v6. Memory speed was evaluated using the AndroBench application. Testing was also carried out in cross-platform javascript tests (Mozilla Kraken JavaScript and SunSpider). The results of these tests significantly depend on the browser used, therefore, to minimize the impact, all reviews will use Google Chrome as the most common. The following smartphones were chosen as opponents:
: Samsung Exynos Octa 7880, 8 cores (1.87 GHz), 3 GB RAM, 5.7 inches, 1920 * 1080;
: Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 8 cores (4 × 2.2 GHz + 4 × 1.85 GHz), 4 GB RAM, 5.5 inches, 1920 * 1080;
: Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 8 cores (8 × 2 GHz), 3 GB RAM, 5.2 inches, 1920 * 1080.

Camera

The main camera is based on the Sony Exmor RS IMX300 sensor with a physical size of 1 / 2.3 inches and a resolution of 23 megapixels. Of course, at this resolution, the pixel size is small - only 1.08 microns. AT automatic mode shooting, the user can only select the resolution. In the manual setting mode, it is possible to control focus, shutter speed, exposure shift, select a white balance setting, as well as select a metering mode and sensitivity level. But the last two parameters are not located in the quick menu, but are hidden in the main menu of the camera, which is a little inconvenient. The power of the LED flash turned out to be low - at a distance of a meter from the smartphone, a level of 18.15 lux was recorded.

To assess image quality, the test pattern was captured with the main camera at sensitivities from ISO 50 to ISO3200 in 1 EV steps.

The results, frankly, are far from the best. But it is based on a very decent 23 Mp matrix Sony IMX300, which was used in smartphones Sony Z5 Premium and last year's flagship! Software image processing, which is extremely important in mobile photography, is lame on both legs. This is a long-standing problem with cameras in Sony smartphones, and it's time to start doing something about it, especially considering the fact that competitors with sensors from Sony itself are able to take better pictures. Fortunately, it is possible to transfer camera control to third-party applications using the Camera 2 API. RAW format not supported, so you won't be able to get "raw" unprocessed photos. But it can be compared to editing a photo in the mobile version of Lightroom. The test pattern was shot from the same angle under the same lighting as when using the stock photo control software. As you can see, the third-party shooting application coped with the task much better. It's worth noting that Lightroom did not perform barrel distortion correction.

Conclusion

There are not so many obvious shortcomings in the smartphone, but the advantages, on the contrary, are decent. But Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is not the only smartphone from the mid-price segment, and there are enough competitors even among famous manufacturers, not to mention the "Chinese". In the range of $ 300-360 without reference to the screen diagonal, you can look towards the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017), Motorola Moto G5s Plus, Huawei Mate 10 Lite. Yes, even in the Sony lineup there are very interesting proposals. For example, with a smaller display, but with exactly the same main camera, a better front-facing camera, a much more powerful system-on-a-chip, excellent sound quality and a very high signal level at the analog audio output.

Minuses:
- dimensions and weight;
- relatively low signal level at the analog audio output;
- weak LED flash;
- software processing of images does not stand up to criticism.
Pros:
- design (subjective);
- a separate slot for installing a microSD memory card;
- high brightness of the display;
- loud enough system speaker;
- sound quality at the analog audio output;
- NFC;
- WiFi-module with support for 5 GHz band;
- USB Type-C;
- good main camera (requires the use of third-party software);
- the presence of a dedicated physical camera key.

What cannot be taken away from Sony smartphones is recognition. They haven't changed the design of their devices for so long that, perhaps, everyone is used to it. Today we are talking about their new mid-range smartphone - the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus.

Appearance and ergonomics

For a long time, Sony smartphones retain their distinct design. To some, it seems outdated and boring, while others, on the contrary, love them because they are easy to recognize and they do not look Chinese. This also applies to the XA1 Plus. But there were some nuances in terms of ease of use.

The phone is too elongated and has a large bottom overhang, so even with a large palm it is inconvenient to use it. At the same time, the device is slippery, and taking into account the fact that you constantly need to intercept it, using it without a cover is not very convenient. Fortunately, the side margins of the screen are minimal. In this case, there will be no accidental clicks - the sidewall is rounded.

All mechanical keys are located on the right side: a volume rocker, a fingerprint scanner combined with the power key and a two-position camera key. Even for me, with my large palm and long fingers, it is uncomfortable to use the volume key during a call. Why it was installed so high is unclear.

Combining the power key with a fingerprint scanner is also not the best solution. For example, to see the time you need to put the finger that is not “hammered” into the scanner, otherwise the phone will unlock and you will need to press the key again to lock it. Agree - it's inconvenient. At the same time, the scanner works well and in most cases recognizes the fingerprint quickly and the first time.

The tray for two SIM cards nanoSIM format is located under the flap next to the memory card slot. If you want to change the SIM-card or memory card, or simply open it, the phone will reboot. To be honest, I'm out of the habit of this.

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is equipped with a USB Type-C connector, but the data transfer rate is USB 2.0.

Display

The display size is 5.5 inches. It is executed by iPS technology and has Full HD resolution. The protective glass resists scratches well, since they did not appear during testing. Oleophobic coating is present. On the street, the image on the screen fades a little, but remains readable.

The brightness varies from 33 to 452 cd / m², and the contrast is 1 to 893. The minimum brightness is very high - if you want to read a book on your phone in the dark before going to bed, the display will shine very brightly, which will make your eyes look excessive load.

Standard screen calibration is not the best. The color temperature is high, which indicates that the colors on the screen are cold. The gamma is also far from the 2.2 reference value.

Traditionally, white balance can be adjusted on Sony smartphones.

Performance

The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 quad-core processor. This is already a very old processor, which is not able to satisfy those users who actively play on the phone and use it to the fullest.

Volume random access memory is 4 GB (there are versions with 3 GB), and custom 32 GB, expandable by using memory cards.

At the same time, the interface works smoothly and very quickly. The shell itself is well known to those who have used Sony smartphones at least once. At the moment, the device runs Android 7.0 Nougat, but it is promised an update to Android 8.0.

There is only one multimedia speaker located at the bottom. It is loud, but there is a lack of bass at maximum volume. Speaker loud and clear. But there are complaints about the noise reduction. When talking near a busy road, the interlocutor clearly hears the noise from the road.

Autonomy

The battery capacity is 3430 mAh. This is enough for the smartphone to be able to work up to two days under light load and one day for those who actively use social media... Battery life in PCMark Work 2.0 test at 200 cd / m² brightness was 8 hours.

It should be noted that the smartphone is not charged from every power supply unit. From the fast charging of Xiaomi, he stubbornly refused to charge. But conventional power supplies with 5V / 2A parameters are suitable. This should be taken into account when using your smartphone.

Cameras

The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is equipped with a 23MP main camera. The sensor is 1 / 2.3 inches in size. The maximum video recording resolution is Full HD (30 frames / s). Front camera 8 MP.

The test device once again proves that the quality of photos on Sony smartphones is no longer the best.

Aggressive operation of the noise reduction device leads to the fact that the pictures are obtained with poor detail, and at 100% magnification, it often looks like a mess.

Site evaluation

Pros: the ability to use two SIM-cards and a memory card at the same time, nFC availability, the speed of the fingerprint scanner

Minuses: slippery body, ergonomics, too high minimum screen brightness

Output: Sony Xperia XA1 Plus will appeal primarily to the followers of the brand. If you are not ready to endure and get used to the features of ergonomics, then we can safely say that this is not the phone to which you need to pay attention. I will not say that a smartphone is expensive, but looking at it it is difficult to find an excuse for such a rather high price, because it has neither a screen with an 18: 9 ratio, nor dual cameras... At this time, competitors already have everything and at the same time are devoid of problems with ergonomics.

What's going on in the smartphone market? Dual and triple cameras, budget frameless smartphones, and a whole slew of new Chinese brands. But let's digress from this and look at the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus and, perhaps, this "classic" smartphone deserves much more attention.

Design, assembly and usability

From the first glance at the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus, it clearly shows the best features of Sony. There are three colors available in Russia: black, gold and blue; in the black version it is a strict design with straight lines, which is quite deceiving, because at first glance the smartphone seems more expensive than it really is, but in the gold and blue version the same smartphone plays with completely different colors, becoming a more "youthful" version ...

The front of the smartphone is completely covered with a protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 4 with slightly curved edges, but this effect is enhanced. as the neat curvature of the glass merges into a rounded frame. Also, the glass is equipped with a high-quality oleophobic coating, on which prints remain reluctant, but are very easy to wipe off. Above the display there is a barely noticeable Sony logo, a front camera lens, light sensors, proximity sensors, an LED notification indicator and an earpiece grill. Below the display is a huge area without functional elements, the keys are onscreen, and only at the very bottom of this area is the microphone grill.
The back of the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is made of a pleasant non-slip semi-matte plastic and, on the one hand, this solution makes the smartphone more grippy, and on the other hand, it collects prints quite easily. which can only be removed with a damp cloth. On the back there is the necessary minimum of elements: a sufficiently large main camera lens, protected from scratches by a small metal rim, a one-color LED flash, the NFC and Xperia logo.

The side edges are made of metal, which gives the overall rigidity of the structure and the smartphone does not lend itself to torsion. On the left side there is a large flap, which can be opened not with the usual paper clip, but manually or by any means at hand; behind the flap there are two slots for Nano-SIM and one for installing a MicroSD up to 256 GB. Immediately it is worth saying thank you to Sony for the ability to install both SIM and memory card, which is now a rarity.
The right side is occupied by a small volume rocker, a lock key with a built-in fingerprint scanner, a little "recessed" into the body, and such a unique feature as the shutter button.
The top face boasts a 3.5mm Mini-Jack headphone jack and a noise canceling microphone. On the bottom there is only a USB Type C charging and sync connector and a main speaker grill.

Speaking about ergonomics, we can immediately say that Sony Xperia XA1 Plus, without exaggeration, big smartphone for people with a large palm, at the same time, if you understand. that this is your size, you will not feel any problems with the location of the controls.

Are there any complaints about the assembly? To be honest, there is, the cover for the SIM and MicroSD tray has a slight backlash, of course, it does not dangle freely and does not rattle, but when a finger gets on it, one feels that this element could sit more securely. In all other respects, the smartphone is assembled perfectly and the body parts are precisely matched to each other, during normal use there are no squeaks.

Display

A large screen, especially with the advent of "frameless", will not surprise anyone, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus has a large 5.5 ″ display located from edge to edge, it's a pity that there is a lot of free space from the right to the left, and above and below it , but it would be much cooler without him. But back to the display - this is good IPS-matrix with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, that is, FullHD, and the pixel density is 401 PPI. There is no air gap between the display and the glass and this is paired with thin bezels (left and right) to create a pleasing effect.

The color rendition of the matrix is \u200b\u200bclose to natural and, which is clearly striking, the initially warm color temperature of the display, however, the color rendition can be easily adjusted in the display parameters.

The viewing angles are maximum. The brightness adjustment range is wide and you can easily select the mode for both night reading and a bright sunny day, and the adaptive brightness control works correctly.

Camera

The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus main camera module came from the flagship of 2015 Sony Xperia Z5. This is a Sony Exmor RS module with a maximum shooting resolution of 23 megapixels, f / 2.0 aperture, hybrid autofocus and SteadyShot stabilization system.
In general, if you believe the manufacturer's website, the quality of the photos taken with the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus should be at the highest level. From my own experience, I will say that automatic systems do not always select the correct white balance, especially in the evening. Sample photos can be estimated below.

Despite the good photo capabilities, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus shoots video poorly. The maximum possible mode is FullHD 30fps, which is not at all impressive. To demonstrate the video capabilities, we filmed a couple of scenes.

The front-facing Exmor R camera can shoot at a maximum resolution of 8MP and is equipped with a wide-angle f / 2.0 aperture lens. There are no complaints about the quality of the photo, it is more than enough for Instagram.

Additional capabilities of the camera include AR effects, that is, augmented reality. There are a lot of shooting plots and with their help you can even walk dinosaurs in the middle of the park.

Performance

The hardware part of the smartphone looks like this: an eight-core MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757 processor, a Mali-T880 graphics accelerator, 4 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of internal memory. This bundle provides speed and stability when performing everyday tasks, no serious "freezes" were found for three weeks of operation. It is especially good to feel that there is enough RAM, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus can keep many applications and tabs in the browser in the background. Below are the results of passing popular benchmarks.

But if you need a smartphone for heavy games, then the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is not the best choice and everyone's favorite World of Tanks Blitz works stably only on low settings graphics, other serious projects on medium.

Software

Works Sony Xperia XA1 Plus on Android Nougat 7.0 c proprietary shell Sony. By the way, Sony software is as close as possible to stock Android, which means we get a high speed of work and not an overloaded operating system. Separately, it should be noted that very soon this smartphone should receive the fresh version of Android Oreo 8.0.

Autonomy

One of the features of the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is, until recently, the most capacious Li-Pol battery in the line with a capacity of 3430 mAh, which allows it to easily live one day from early morning to late evening on a single charge. If this is not enough for you, then there is the STAMINA power saving mode, which means turning off GPS, background data synchronization, sound and image enhancements, and if you really want to stretch your smartphone's charge for two days, Ultra STAMINA mode is provided, which limits the range of possible launch applications.

Sony cares about the batteries in its smartphones and has developed Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology. Thanks to this technology, the smartphone analyzes at what time it is put on a long charge, for example, at night, and limits the current for correct and slow charging. But if you need to recharge quickly, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus also supports the MediaTek Pump Express Plus 2.0 fast charging technology, but this requires the purchase of a separate Sony Quick Charger UCH12W charger.

Sound

The quality of the main speaker does not cause any complaints, even if it is alone, but loud, and one cannot argue with that, and the only thing that it lacks is low frequencies, but what can I say - they are lacking in almost all smartphones.
The speaker is also of high quality, the interlocutor is heard accurately, without distortion.

The next important point is the sound quality in the headphones, and here it is worth moving away from the marketing features described on the official website. Let me put it simply - the sound quality is up to standard and comparable to competitors, but even if the dedicated amplifier is not listed in the specifications, the sound volume in the headphones is higher than that of most smartphones in this price category.

Wireless interfaces

This device supports all LTE frequencies available in Russia, and also supports LTE Cat. 6 or Cat. 4, the data transfer rate in these networks is up to 300 Mbps and 150 Mbps, respectively. Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac is supported. The next wireless interface that interests us is NFC, because NFC is successfully used in almost all Sony devices for fast synchronization. It is also worth noting great job from Android Pay without any glitches. As for Bluetooth, a module version 4.2 is used with the ability to connect wireless headsets using the artX codec, which transmits high quality sound without wires.

Fingerprint scanner

The fingerprint scanner, as I said earlier, is combined with the lock key, and I used to think that it was very inconvenient, and due to the small area it would not always work. I admit I was wrong, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus fingerprint scanner is conveniently located, memorizes up to five fingers and works very quickly.
What you can still work on is adding gestures to the scanner; by the way, it would be very convenient to scroll through articles in the browser or photos in the gallery.

conclusions

The smartphone market is now undergoing significant and rapid changes, and against the background of most modern smartphones The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus looks like a "classic" device, but that doesn't make it worse. The Xperia XA1 Plus is a balanced device with a distinctively sleek design. beloved by Sony fans. Simply put, if you are looking at a smartphone from the mid-price category, then pay attention to the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is definitely worth it, but it has enough competitors.

Sony Mobile has unveiled the new Xperia 2017 lineup of smartphones at IFA in Berlin, which includes the flagship XZ1 and XZ1 Compact, as well as the XA1 Plus.

We were able to get acquainted with all the new products a few days before the exhibition in the Moscow office of Sony Mobile. It is important to note that the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact are representatives of the flagship Xperia line and are technologically inferior only to the XZ Premium. And, in fact, the difference is only in the size and resolution of the display: the XZ1 has a 5.2-inch Full HD screen, while the “compact” has a diagonal of 4.6 inches at HD-resolution. Otherwise, when it comes to technology, smartphones are almost identical.

Against the general background of the presented novelties, XA1 Plus stands out - a smartphone that represents middle class Xperia devices that feature a bezel-less design. The XA1 Plus in this line will take a position between the XA1 with a five-inch display and the XA1 Ultra with a 6-inch display. The XA1 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen, but most importantly, while maintaining the frameless design, Sony was able to install a fingerprint scanner on the side.

We managed to get acquainted with each of the devices separately, so we will give each of them a separate material.

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus will be the newest member of the line of mid-range smartphones with frameless design. As a reminder, the company previously released the XA1 with a 5-inch display and the XA1 Ultra with a 6-inch display. The new smartphone will find its place just between these two devices, since the screen size of the XA1 Plus is 5.5 inches. The display resolution is Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels).

Xperia XA1 Plus will receive the largest battery for Sony smartphones, a large Full HD display, a fingerprint scanner will appear here, while the frameless design will remain. At the same time, Sony explains that the flagships cannot yet get rid of the frames due to the fact that smartphones are protected from dust and moisture. The Xperia XA1 Plus also promises a best-in-class camera.

Actually, the Xperia XA1 Plus is all "best in class": a large 5.5-inch Full HD display, loud sound from the built-in mono speaker, equalizer and Clear BASS function. Separately, Sony Mobile notes the largest battery for Sony smartphones - its volume will be 3430 mAh. The smartphone will also be equipped with STAMINA technologies, Qnovo adaptive charging and Quick Charge support.

The device is powered by the Mediatek MT6757 octa-core processor, also known as the Helio P20, clocked at 2.3 GHz. Depending on the region, there will be versions with 3 and 4 GB of RAM. The built-in memory will be either 16 or 32 GB, depending on the version. The memory can be expanded using a microSD memory card. You can install two SIM cards in a smartphone.

As for the camera, it is the familiar 23MP Sony Exmor RS sensor from previous generations with hybrid autofocus. The sensor size is 1 / 2.3 inches. Such a camera unit was previously included in the flagship line and was installed in the Sony Xperia Z5 smartphone, as well as in the XA1 and XA1 Ultra. SteadyShot technology is responsible for image stabilization. The front camera is equipped with an 8MP Exmor R sensor.

The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus will be available in three colors: black, blue and gold. The device looks extremely nice and the line of the middle price segment is more and more reminiscent of flagships. The innovation plays on this - the presence of a fingerprint scanner on the side. At the same time, the smartphone continues to be frameless and it is convenient to operate it with both two and one hand. Especially worth noting are the polished ends that shine spectacularly.

Thus, Sony, on the one hand, updated the line of the middle price segment, on the other hand, supplemented it with a new device, which should definitely find its fans.
