Install an audio player. Overview of music players on the computer

"Water sample" - this is how you can describe this category. It has interesting features and interesting options.

20.Media Monkey

Price- $24.95 (gold) or free version.

Platform– Windows (via add-on - on OS X), iOS, Android.

In fact, this is a convenient media library cataloger, which in the paid version can manage several collections at the same time. MediaMonkey is able to transcode formats into compatible formats on the fly - this used to be the main advantage of the application. Despite the abundance of mobile, not audiophile features (however, the latter are also available: Bit perfect output and DSD support), the program has a pretty good sound - detailed and emotional.

pros- can be used for free.

Minuses– there are not many standard High End features.

Who will suit– owners of multi-room systems.

Price – $33.

Platform– OSX.

Although Decibel stopped being updated in 2015, the program offers full control over the audio output device, it can load tracks into RAM(and play them directly from there) and fine-tune the upsampling multiplicity of the signal. There is a multi-band equalizer; DSD is supported. The sound lacks the stars from the sky - but it is quite confident, clear.

pros- everything you need and nothing more.

Minuses- the interface is not perfect, the sound is not standard.

Who will suit- experimenters.

18. Tidal Hi-Fi

Price– $19.99 per month (may vary by country).

Platform– OS X, Windows, iOS, Android.

Tidal is the most advanced streaming service to date, and its download client is a pretty serious player. With an MQA-enabled DAC in your system, you'll get all the benefits of Bob Stewart's brainchild, but even without that compatibility, Tidal's MQA Core (24-bit downsampled) delivers. An excellent offer for complete relaxation - you do not need to buy anything, download anything, and so on. I subscribed - almost all the music is already available.

pros- "clicked - plays" - and no problems.

Minuses– MQA streaming cannot be compared in quality with PCM 192/24, and even more so with DSD, when played back from its own storage.

Who will suit- lazy people (or, as a fallback, "for review").

17. Fidelia

Price – $29,99.

Platform– OS X, iOS.

Fidelia supports Bit perfect sound output and has options for connecting external plug-ins; in this way, according to the company, you can "create your sound like a sculpture." The sound can impress with its resolution, however, it is not very natural. In addition, in the endless race of possibilities, the creators “thrown the baby out with the water”: over the years, the program has not gotten rid of a lot of glitches and has not even acquired a modicum of stability. A score close to two out of five possible in the AppStore - the best of that confirmation.

pros– plug-ins, ultra-detailed sound.

Minuses- unstable.

Who will suit- lovers to fight with glitches.

Price– $4.99 per month.

Platform– OS X, iOS.

Hipster design, powerful BASS Audio Engine, DSD and .cue support, a lot of options... It's quite a candidate for the first places in the rating, if not for the sound. It seems to be powerful, but (on some compositions) a lax presentation is excusable for playback from a smartphone, but for an audiophile computer, this is a definite minus in karma.

pros- an example of ergonomics.

Minuses- the sound picture is not the best.

Who will suit- aesthetes.

15. Swinsian

Price – $19,95.

Platform– OSX.

Powerful collection cataloger - with DSD playback features and a serious engine. It can't compete with the best audiophile players, but, again, it takes the usability a step further. The sound is confident, but the player impoverishes the timbres.

pros- cheap and cheerful.

Minuses- Simple sound.

Who will suit- economical.

The second group - almost High End

Everything is already serious here - there are flaws, but in terms of sound, these players will give a hundred points ahead of any built-in options.

14. Resonic

Price- free (as a player).

Platform– Windows.

Minimalistic Resonic (optimized for Windows 10) plays almost all possible formats (including DSD up to DSD512), scares away with its appearance- but what does it sound like? Here you will not find a scattering of unnecessary details - but there is a correct reproduction with a focus on the emotions and intent of the composer.

pros– accurate and confident on any compositions.

Minuses- ascetic interface.

Who will suit- purists.

13. Korg Audiogate 4

Price- for free.

Platform OS X, Windows.

Indeed, Audiogate 4 was designed for the Korg DS-DAC family of DSD-DACs - and with them it reveals itself to the full. However, even in Lite mode (with signal output limited to 48 kHz), the program demonstrates bulldog grip and incredible hardness of sound images.Worth a try.

pros- the right sound.

Minuses- Requires a corporate partner.

Who will suit– owners of Korg DACs.

12.foobar2000

Price- for free.

Platform– Windows, iOS, Android.

Classics never get old and are constantly updated. And the list of plug-ins for foobar2000 has already stretched to many pages. If you wish, you can set up everything and everything here, provide DSD output, etc., etc. If you wish - today, however, it is akin to working with MS DOS. And okay, the sound was outstanding - but, no. Against the background of modern software engines, our test subject looks confident, but has not been a standard for a long time.

pros- a lot of things to customize.

Minuses- and very little for really good sound"right out of the box".

Who will suit- retrograde.

11. JRiver

Price – $69,98.

Platform– OS X, Windows, Linux.

Another classic with such an abundance of settings that a number of companies sell ready-made hardware solutions with “JRiver installed and configured”. The program is distinguished by archaic ergonomics, in this regard, it is stuck in 2010. But there is a DSD output, Bit Perfect and a powerful 64-bit engine. The sound does not seem fantastic (at first glance), but something catches in it. After listening longer, you understand JRiver fans - sometimes it's worth spending a year on tuning for such naturalness and elegance.

pros- captivating soundscape.

Minuses- complex and outdated interface.

Who will suit- those who like to reconfigure the computer.

10. Channel D Pure Music

Price – $129.

Platform– OSX.

DSD, 64-bit "heart", plug-ins (including those with a change in the type of crossover) and much more - this is all Channel D Pure Music. That's just the program works as an add-on for iTunes - and at the same time it looks rather archaic. The sound is very pleasant, somewhat close to the "vinyl" presentation. Fundamentality, alas, can sometimes be lacking.

pros- many options for those who are used to iTunes.

Minuses- Terrible ergonomics.

Who will suit- Vinyl fans.

Third group - major league

So we got to the most interesting! Here are nine "best of the best" players.

9. BitPerfect

Price – $9,99.

Platform– OSX.

The program is just an ascetic add-on for iTunes, but it allows you to play Hi-Res, DSD and outputs audio in pure mode (as the name implies). Despite certain ergonomic issues, obviously associated with the "mother" iTunes, BitPerfect offers an outstanding sound. Coherent, rhythmic, incendiary - in short, this is a great way to transform your Mac with little effort.

pros- Sounds good.

Minuses- the functionality is tied to iTunes.

Who will suit- Apple fans.

8. Signalyst HQ Player

Price – $211.

Platform OS X, Windows.

Another example of a poor interface for crazy money. But in this case, no one calls for using the program separately - the easiest way is to integrate it as an add-on into Roon - or use an external application for the HQPDcontrol smartphone (you will have to pay another thousand rubles for it).

The feature of HQ Player is in the widest possibilities of upsampling and downsampling, for example, it can convert any signal to DSD (up to 1.536 MHz), it can apply FIR filters for equalization and room correction. You will deal with all this for more than one month - in the end, great entertainment. If you have a powerful computer, the sound can drive you crazy - the resolution is outstanding, the musical canvas is absolutely alive.

pros There are so many options that your head is spinning.

Minuses– requires something more for full control.

Who will suit- pedants.

7. Volumio

Price- for free.

Platform- OS X, Windows and special versions for computer hardware such as Raspberry, UDOO, Cubox-i, Odroid.

OEM solution that allows "play everything on everything" (including DSD), with UPnP support and installation on a flash drive. Thanks to the isolated structure, Volumio provides a truly audiophile sound - measured, soulful and taking, as they say, for the soul.

pros- Lots of application options.

Minuses- requires a certain qualification in work.

Who will suit- fans of audio-computer hardware.

Price – $199.

Platform OS X, Windows.

Started as an add-on to iTunes, Amarra has now matured into a full application. With features like Tidal integration, MQA and DSD support (up to DSD128). The sound of the player is a real “major league”, not for nothing that Amarra is often used at exhibitions in top systems. Soft, exciting, sometimes even too soft - but demonstrating filigree work with timbres and stage. It's hard not to fall in love with this.

pros- the highest league in sound quality, a real High End.

Minuses- price.

Who will suit- Jazz fans.

5.Audirvana Plus

Price – $74.

Platform– OSX.

"Heavy artillery" for relatively little money. Audirvana offers both library cataloging and Tidal integration, support for MQA, DSD (including upsampling to DSD), as well as proprietary SoX or iZotope 64bit SRC algorithm. The latter will boot your computer but provide sound highest resolution. The dynamic characteristics of any composition in the presentation of Audirvana increase, attack, punch - all this literally spills out onto the listener. In short, a clear antipode of Amarra.

pros– Fantastic features and luxurious sound.

Minuses– sometimes gives out too assertive sound.

Who will suit- "black belt holders in karate."

4.XXHighEnd

Price– 72 euros.

Platform– Windows.

The program was developed for the monstrous PCs of the same name - running on Xeon processors and with the removal of the operating system to RAM Drive. However, even on regular computer, XXHighEnd shows wonders - its latest editions support MQA, automatically switch sample rates and ... And if you get used to its terrible interface, the sound will definitely enchant - here it is, real High End from a computer.

pros- in 12 years, the program has experienced a revolutionary leap in playback quality.

Minuses- after working with it, you will want to build a High End PC and start to deal with the RAM Drive; the interface is terrible.

Who will suit- those who assembled the first computer in kindergarten.

3.Jplay

Price– 99 euros.

Platform– Windows.

Want to turn your PC into a streamer? Install JPlay, only after installation (which deactivates most of the OS functions) you will also need another computer for control. Sounds weird? Don't worry if this maximizing approach doesn't make sense to you, you can leave JPlay on one PC, use the built-in minimalist JPLAYStreamer or plug in a number of other programs and enjoy the sound of a "cleaned up" system. In terms of music playback, the changes will be amazing.

pros- the ultimate solution for turning the PC into a streamer.

Minuses– a control player or another computer is desirable for work.

Who will suit- hardcore fans.

2. Infinity Blade HQ (Bug Head Emperor)

Price- for free.

Platform– Windows.

To date, 217 pages of discussion on the Jplay forum is the best evidence of the program's popularity. Support for DSD and Bit Perfect output is not the main thing here, the main idea is our own algorithm for transferring data to a RAW file and the imposition of interpolation algorithms. You'll need a powerful PC, preferably one with JPlay already installed (i.e., a dedicated audio machine) - but with that combination, the Infinity Blade HQ can literally crush seasoned audiophiles. The sound has everything you could wish for - beauty, detail, balance, explosive dynamics. Low frequencies are especially transformed; All in all, definitely worth a try!

pros- Super sound.

Minuses- let's not talk about ergonomics again.

Who will suit- perfectionists.

Price– $119 per year (or $499 once).

Platform– OS X, Windows, iOS, Android; proprietary Roon Rock OS.

The ultimate solution for computer audio today? Yes, Roon has it all. Luxurious sound of the highest audiophile standard. Perfect ergonomics - once you try cataloging your media library through Roon, you don't want to go back. Engine with the ability to upsampling all signals up to DSD, connection of room-correction. We add "cherries on the cake", such as the visibility of all elements of the signal chain or a proprietary operating system for the Intel Nuc - and the conclusion is obvious.

pros– the best balance between high-end sound and ergonomics.

Minuses– absent.

Who will suit- to anyone who thinks that you can pay that kind of money for a player.

Prepared based on the materials of the portal "Hi-Fi.ru", January 2018

Good day everyone!

Almost every user, whether on a work computer or at home, turns on music on it from time to time. But you can listen to music in different ways - and in many respects the convenience and sound quality depend on the chosen player. This is probably why there is such a wide variety of audio players now, and disputes often flare up, which one is the best ...

In this article, I will give my TOP 10 music players that I considered the best (but I won’t choose the very best of them).

Note: 1. Windows Meadia Player, which is included by default in Windows, I do not take into account in this article (although the player, in my opinion, is not very bad).2. By the way, I have nothing to do with any of the authors of the above programs ...

Aimp

Excellent "omnivorous" free audio player. It is rightfully considered one of the leaders of the niche and enjoys tremendous popularity.

Screenshot of the main window

Main advantages:

  • support for a huge number of formats (almost all audio files: .CDA, .AAC, .AC3, .APE, .DTS, .FLAC, .IT, .MIDI, .MO3, .MOD, .M4A, .M4B, etc. .;
  • Sound output: DirectSound / ASIO / WASAPI / WASAPI Exclusive;
  • 32-bit sound processing allows you to achieve the best sound quality;
  • built-in Internet radio (moreover, there is a function of recording radio in various formats);
  • automatic rating of the songs you listen to (then mono independently collect your TOP of the best songs);
  • convenient equalizer + built-in sound effects: reverb, flanger, chorus, etc. The ability to normalize the volume level;
  • the ability to copy CDs;
  • a bunch of various modules, "skins" and plug-ins: will allow you to change your player and increase its capabilities;
  • the ability to configure "hot" keys;
  • Russian language support in full! And much more...

In general, the player deserves attention and recommendations for acquaintance with absolutely everyone who is looking for an audio player.

Media player for playing music and movies, from Apple. Distributed free of charge for OS X and Windows platforms.

The player, in addition to its main task, allows you to create your own library of media files. The player provides file synchronization with Apple devices. The player, I want to note, supports all popular audio formats, in addition, it allows you to watch streaming video (broadcasts).

In addition, iTunes contains a built-in store that gives you access to a variety of songs (you will always be up to date with new releases). iTunes can analyze your tastes and then suggest similar music based on your interests. Comfortable!

One of the most popular (over 100 million users worldwide!) and oldest (over 15 years) music players. Many of the innovations in Winamp have become mandatory attributes in audio players. A lot of "skins" (covers), plug-ins and add-ons have been released for the player - so the player can be adjusted to a variety of tasks!

Main advantages:

  • creating your own library of music files;
  • support for most audio formats (including flac);
  • a wide variety of skins (from the simplest ones that do not load the system to quite resource-intensive ones);
  • a huge number of settings and parameters - each user will be able to customize the program for themselves;
  • full support for the Russian language;
  • the ability to create your own playlists;
  • fine-tuning the sound: equalizer, various sound shades, etc.;
  • and many many others.

Foobar 2000

A powerful media player that was created by one of the developers of WinAmp itself! main feature of this player: its low system requirements with high functionality (in no way inferior to other popular players).

Key features:

  • support for all popular music formats: MP3, WAV, AIFF, VOC, AU, SND, Ogg Vorbis, MPEG-4 AAC, FLAC, OggFLAC, Monkey's Audio, and many others;
  • support RAR archives, ZIP - they can also be unpacked on the fly (during playback);
  • very low system requirements;
  • very high-quality sound (provided thanks to special audio encoders + sound processing with a bit depth of 64 bits);
  • ReplayGain technology (if you have files with different volume levels, they will be played at the same level);
  • database of audio files (plugins for working with the database - Album List, dbSearch, etc.);
  • and much more.

JetAudio

Website: http://www.jetaudio.com/

Multifunctional audio and video player. It differs, first of all, from many other players - a point sound setting that allows you to achieve excellent sound on almost any sound cards (note: the highest quality for this iron).

Main advantages:

  • support for all popular audio formats: .wav, .mp3, .ogg, .flac, .m4a, .mpc, .tta, .wv, .ape, .mod, .spx, etc.;
  • very high quality sound: there are "improvers" in the form of: BBE, BBE ViVA, Wide, Reverb, X-Bass. Also, the player (unlike many others) plays 32-bit sound;
  • 10-band equalizer (+32 presets for it);
  • the ability to encode music from one format to another (the ability to copy CDs);
  • the ability to search and listen to radio stations on the Internet, etc.

In general, the player can be recommended, first of all, to those who are not satisfied with the sound quality. For novice users may be somewhat confused by the lack of a wide variety of covers, the absence of the Russian language (* not in all versions), and a small number visual effects. Although, is it all you need when listening to music ?!

Vinyl Player

Website: http://en.vinylsoft.com/

A simple, free and easy-to-use player that plays all popular audio formats: MP3, OGG, WMA, AAC, M4A, MPC, APE, FLAC, etc. The program is distinguished, first of all, by low system requirements and high quality playback. You can also add the presence of "smart" automatic lists: top 50 (based on your interests), playing random tracks, choosing tracks with a high rating, etc.

I also note the super-convenient work with hot keys: they will work even when the program is minimized to tray (that is, you can switch tracks while in the game or working with documents).

Main advantages:

  • a convenient library formed from your tracks on a PC hard drive (by the way, the library is formed automatically when you first start the player);
  • the presence of "smart" lists: random 50 tracks, top 50, random albums, etc.;
  • the ability to work with playlists with a huge number of files (up to 100 thousand - other players will simply freeze);
  • extremely convenient and concise design: everything you need is on the left in the column and you can quickly switch program sections (radio, genres, playlists) with the mouse;
  • convenient equalizer: there are preset settings for listening to different genres of music;
  • high-quality sound (there are special parameters for adjusting the sound for almost any hardware);
  • extremely low system requirements (can be compared with Foobar 2000!);
  • convenient hot keys that work even if the program is minimized;
  • Russian language support, Windows 7, 8, 10 (32/64 bits) and more!

In general, despite the fact that the player is not yet as well known as the previous ones, it leaves an extremely positive impression. Definitely recommend to get acquainted with it and use it!

album player

Unlike the previous one, this is a very simple player, you don't even need to install it. (just download the selected archive and extract it, then run the APlayer.exe file).

It features a very simple design (I would even say outdated), low system requirements. Allows you to open and listen to formats: WAV, FLAC, APE, WavPack, ALAC, AIFF, TAK, MP3, MP4, OGG, MPC, OPUS, Audio-CD, SACD, DVD-A.

It is also worth noting the most important thing that the player has is a fairly high-quality sound: the program implements a direct output of the audio stream from the audio format decoder to output device. This eliminates intermediate processing and mixing, resulting in accurate sound reproduction. The following output modes are supported: ASIO, Kernel Streaming, WASAPI.

The player works on Windows: XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10.

Foobnix

A player that was originally developed for Linux. Now it is also available for Windows OS. It is a multifunctional player that supports all major audio formats, as well as: flac, lossless, CUE, 5000+ radio stations, online music. By the way, the player has integration with Last.fm and VKontakte!

  2. convenient equalizer for adjusting the sound;
  3. the ability to convert from one audio format to another. Supported formats: mp3, ogg, mp2, ac3, m4a, wav;
  4. music library support: conveniently and quickly allows you to manage your music tracks;
  5. built-in Internet radio (two mouse clicks - and you can listen!);
  6. the ability to create your own playlists;
  7. integration with VK and Last.FM;
  8. hotkey support;
  9. fairly low system requirements;
  10. convenient and easy interface that can be changed beyond recognition!

XMplay

XMPlay is a very simple audio player that is less than 1 MB in size (the program doesn't even require installation to work)!

The player provides good quality sound, has a lot of settings (for example, 9 band equalizer, 32/64 bit audio output, a bunch of additional covers, plug-ins, etc.).

Many users criticize this program for its interface. I agree that the interface of the program leaves much to be desired, and for all the time of its existence, it seems that it has never changed! True, it is worth making a reservation right away that an additional set of "skins" and covers has been created - which means that you can always change it to a more attractive and modern one (perhaps not very convenient for a novice user!).

The player works fine in the basic configuration, but if you need additional. function - you will need to download plugins (by the way, there are quite a lot of them and you can significantly expand the capabilities of the player). Supports all major audio formats: MP3; OGG; MP2; MP1; WMA; WAV; CDA; MO3; IT; XM; S3M; MTM; MOD; UMX and also works with PLS / M3U / ASX playlists. In general, if you are looking for a simple and easy player - I recommend XMplay for review!

Bug head Emperor

Most players are similar to each other, and only a few of them are very different from the rest ... One of these applications is a music player Bug head Emperor from Japanese programmer Hiroyuki Yokota.

The design of the program can be shocking, but you should not immediately put an end to the program without trying it! Despite the unusual design, the program is excellent and high-quality sound, opportunity portable installation(i.e. you can, for example, carry a program on a flash drive ...).

High sound quality is achieved thanks to the original Bug head technology (this is not found in any other program!). Its essence is approximately the following: the audio file is converted to raw RAW format followed by special processing. sound optimization algorithm, among which there are such as Green, Galax and Star.

Since all these transformations take place "on the fly" - all this requires quite powerful computer, not less Intel Core i3 and 4 GB of RAM.

The player supports all popular audio formats, including mp3, aac, ogg, wav, flac and wma.

Brief summary: if you have a powerful modern computer and you are unhappy with the sound quality, I recommend trying Bug head Emperor.

That's all for me.

For additions on the topic - a separate merci.

5. Winamp takes fifth place

An excellent music player that can be downloaded for free on the official website. It can play most popular formats, both audio and video. Winamp's interface is simple enough to play your favorite music.

What makes this program so interesting? The ability to download and install more than 1000 different designs (skins), as well as a large archive of plugins that will make Winamp even better, more interesting and more attractive.

The equalizer is easy to use, which will allow you to adjust the sound to any equipment. There is an opportunity to lose streaming videos and audio clips.

With Winamp, you can convert music files to any format, as well as burn them to discs. There is also a synchronization function with Android phones.

4. Aimp takes fourth place

Not many people know this music player. And by the way, AIMP is not a name, it is an abbreviation that stands for Artem Izmailov Media Player. As you may have guessed, Artem was the creator of this program, but now a whole team is working on it.

The good news is that the AIMP music player is completely free and can be downloaded from the official website. The program will please you with crystal clear sound, due to the advanced experience of sound engineering. The interface of the program is very light and invigorating, uplifting. The player itself is very compact, and numerous functions are very cleverly located throughout the program area.

Aimp has on board a 16-band graphic equalizer with a bunch of presets for all occasions. Using them, you can make the melody sound the way you want.

This player will also help you easily organize MP3 files in the library, as well as correct tags if necessary. The program plays all popular music formats. Supports streaming playback, can record online radio. Uses minimal resources of your computer and is easy to install.

3. MediaMonkey takes third place

Despite the funny name, this player is designed for people who are serious about music. MediaMonkey music player has a wide range of functions, organize music files, make playlists, edit tags, record and listen.

Thanks to the smart organization and customization of tags, you can sort your media files by genre, artist, year, rating. It is very easy to convert music to various formats. The program can analyze the music file and automatically adjust the sound level for the entire track.

If some tags are missing, MediaMonkey will try to fill in the missing information itself. There are some difficulties with setting up the interface, but if you figure it out, you can do everything beautifully.

The program also has an Auto DJ that mixes audio tracks for you on a disc.

2. Second place goes to SongBird.

What happens if you cross FireFox and iTunes? Of course, SongBird, which takes second place by right, as one of the best players for Windows. In addition to the fact that it is easily customizable and expandable with plugins, organizes playlists and libraries quickly and clearly, manages, plays, explores music, it is also cross-platform. The design pleases the eye, everything looks natural. Quick links on the left side for instant transition to the music library, bookmarks, downloads.

Automatically imports music files from the selected folder and monitors this folder in the future, in case there are new files.

Another important advantage is that the SongBird music player can play the music file before you download it to your computer.

1. foobar2000 takes first place

It is by far the best music player for Windows, simply because it is highly customizable and expandable, gives you crystal clear sound, and supports a wide range of music formats such as MP3, MP4, AAC, WMA, FLAC, Musepack, etc.

The music player foobar2000 is very fast, even on older computers, you may not even notice that you have this player running. Do not be intimidated by the program's primitive interface, as a huge arsenal of interesting plugins and features hides behind the curtain. The built-in equalizer will help you customize the sound to your liking. Burning music to disk, converting files, support for unicode encoding, as well as support for hotkeys.

Let foobar2000 not please with its design, but its potential will allow you to enjoy music to the fullest.

I bring to your attention a small rating best audio players for windows. I must say right away that they are all worthy of praise. This is my subjective opinion and everyone has the right to think differently. All objections and disagreements can be left in the comments. I hope this article helps you find the best audio player for windows.

Go…

7 best audio players

6.iTunes

Multifunctional "machine" from Apple. There is everything your heart desires. But it weighs a lot and is focused on buying music via the Internet. Maybe that's why at first it did not receive mass popularity in Russia, due to our universal love for freebies.

You can download iTunes for free from the official website www.apple.com

5. Foobar2000

Simple, nondescript interface, no bells and whistles. It weighs a little, does not load the system (although in our computer age, it is problematic to load the system with an audio player), everything is clear and simple. The sound is very decent. Player reading flac, wav, ogg, mp3. Many prefer it because of its simplicity.

Player site www.foobar2000.org

4. KMPlayer

Player from Korean manufacturers. Easy to use and settings. There is nothing superfluous. Rather, it does not have a lot of things that are in the same Aimp or Winamp, but it has a big plus - an excellent sound. At least after getting to know him, I stopped using Winamp altogether.

You can download it from the Russian-language developer site thekmplayer.ru or from here www.kmpmedia.net

2 and 3. Winamp & Aimp

The second and third places in my rating were shared by Winamp and Aimp. Some people prefer one, some the other. Their parameters are approximately the same, here, as they say, a matter of taste. Excellent players flac, mp3, wav, ogg and many others. In fact, there is nothing innovative in either one or the other. And at the moment they have a lot of analogues, which simply cannot yet compete with these eminent brands. It's kind of a classic of the genre.But in spite of everything, Winamp and Aimp remain one of the best among audio players. For this 2nd and 3rd place.

You can download from their sites www.winamp.com and www.aimp.ru

1.JetAudio

He is the one who gets the lead. Why? Well, because it has everything you need to listen to music: it supports all formats, allows you to use many real-time audio effects, convert audio to different formats, you can record and edit audio. It has karaoke, radio, an equalizer (of course) and in general a lot of other things, you can’t list everything. That is, it is already more than just a player with an equalizer. It's already professional player music and beginners will be difficult to figure it out at first, due to the many settings and all sorts of functions. Official website www.jetaudio.com

P.S. I would also like to note Steinberg MyMp3 pro. Despite the fact that work on updating it has not been carried out for a long time (if I'm not mistaken since 2003), many people continue to use it and consider the best player for music. And I am one of them. Why? Because the sound is good. It was developed and released by the craftsmen from Steinberg - the leader among programs for professional recording (Cubase, Nuendo, WaveLab). In short, it was designed for professionals.

There was already an article on Threshbox with a selection of the best music players for Android, however, it will soon be 3 years since it was published, so it's time to update this topic. In this article, you will find the most convenient, beautiful and functional applications for listening to music on Android. Read more under the cut.

We have tested many different music players for Android and collected the best of them. This article presents applications that have similar functionality, but at some points differ from each other - in design or capabilities. However, each of these programs can be fully used to listen to music on Android.

Music player Stellio comes from Belarus. And oddly enough, in the CIS they managed to create a very good application for listening to music on smartphones, tablets, and even smart watch with Android Wear. Stellio has everything you need for both a simple user and a seasoned music lover:

One of Stellio's "features" is changing the color scheme of the interface to match the style of the album cover. That is why the chameleon became the symbol of the program. And all this is flavored with an extensive settings menu, where you can customize almost any function for yourself.

Stellio Widget

Recently, Stellio has become available for free, but with ads. However, for those who want to constantly use a quality player, it is better to buy full version for 99 rubles - enough low price for a handy tool that you will use for a long time.

Poweramp for Android is the ArchLinux of the music player world - it's both powerful in terms of customization and easy to use. The program has an original archaic interface, which has little additional menus. The main actions take place on the main screen, where you can switch between albums and tracks with swipes. The main navigation takes place in a special menu where you can view your library by folders or by already compiled categories.

There is a good equalizer with presets for every taste, as well as a tool for adjusting the tone and volume. The settings menu is where PowerAMP really shines. Here you can distort the interface as soon as the soul orders or play with sound effects. There is a function of loading album covers from Internet services. You can also set up scrobbling on Last.fm. Like Stellio, the PowerAMP player pleased me with good recognition of FLAC rips with CUE.

PowerAMP Widget

Desktop widget - standard. PowerAMP also has support for custom interface skins. They are created both by the developers themselves and by a huge community. IN Google Play you can find a large number of these skins. The most beautiful - in HD quality. They are in a separate category.

BlackPlayer is an app with a very nice style interface Windows phone. Navigation in this player is made by vertical gestures to the right and left. In the standard black color scheme, the app looks very stylish. All this with smooth and beautiful animations. One of the interesting features in BlackPlayer is the loading of biographies of artists and bands. Information about them is downloaded from Last.fm, so the descriptions are often translated into Russian. So small but useful features please.

Equalizer - not the coolest, but to adjust the sound for any headphones it will do. You can also apply sound effects. In the settings you can find ample opportunities for editing the interface - you can even apply your own font. Cover uploads and scrobbling are also available. The BlackPlayer desktop widget is not the coolest - just a big "die" with three buttons. It could have been better. And I also managed to find an important drawback - the player could not properly recognize an uncut FLAC record with a CUE playlist.

Widget

In general, BlackPlayer will appeal to those who want a beautiful music player without unnecessary and intrusive features. However, extensive features will allow you to customize the player for the most demanding user. Users who switched to Android from Windows Phone should definitely evaluate the program.

AIMP is one of the few completely free players on both Android and Windows. There are no ads or feature restrictions in it. free version. If you are a person who is not used to paying for programs, then AIMP will definitely suit you. However, folk wisdom says that free cheese is only in a mousetrap. Not that AIMP is a mousetrap, but the player itself is very simple and does not shine with a lot of features.

But it has everything you need ordinary user:

There is nothing more to say about AIMP - just a solid player with a nice design and good standard sound.

Phonograph is a young player, which was created under the impression of the new "material" design at the time of release. The program interface is made in the style of minimalism with bright, but not eye-catching elements. The main navigation takes place on four tabs: songs, albums, artists and playlists. In terms of features and capabilities, Phonograph is even more ascetic than AIMP, but it is also free.

Phonograph doesn't even have its own equalizer, but it does support external ones. That is, you can download a third-party equalizer from Android and enable it in the player. Also, among the shortcomings, it is worth noting the lack of support for uncut FLAC rips with CUE playlists. You can listen to them, but they don't appear as a playlist and they don't recognize tags.

Phonograph Widget

From strengths Phonograph: user-friendly and nice interface with the possibility of customization, ease of use, free.

Along with Phonograph, it is worth noting the Shuttle player, which is very similar in concept to the interface and set of functions. These are two very similar apps, but Shuttle has more options.

JetAudio is another mobile player that has made its way to Android from computers. On Windows, this program was famous primarily for its powerful set of options in terms of interface and sound customization. The developers have tried to transfer all these features to the mobile JetAudio. The application has a built-in ten-band equalizer (even more in the paid version) with many presets. For those who like to mock the sound, several modules with effects are provided at once. In general, JetAudio will help you achieve a more or less decent sound even on the worst headphones.

As for the interface, JetAudio is not original here - a typical hamburger menu with several items. Navigation through albums, tracks and lists is extremely simple and clear. Among the original features, it is worth noting: track search on YouTube, many control settings, complete freedom to customize the interface and playback. And among all the players presented in this selection, JetAudio has the most widgets different format: 1x1, 2x2, 2x3, 3x3, 4x1, 4x2, 4x3, 4x4 and 5x5. In general, you can make two screens with these widgets - there is something for every taste.

One of the JetAudio widgets

But the player did not pass the test for CUE support - it did not properly read my unbroken FLAC record. Paid version JetAudio with the Plus prefix costs 259 rubles. Buyers of the program get a lot of advantages - all functions are unlocked and removed advertisements. All in all, JetAudio is a great Swiss Army knife that won't get you nowhere.

The rather old PlayerPro player has not changed in appearance for several years, but this does not prevent it from being one of the best in its category. Despite the overall dominance of "material" design, PlayerPro remains true to its design, which is made in the old style with raised icons and glossy colors. Under such a conservative shell lies a powerful filling.

The simple interface with the right panel allows you to quickly navigate through all the categories and menus you need. Unlike many other players, in PlayerPro you can edit the main menu, removing unnecessary items. To compile custom playlists and mixes, a special rating system is provided, where each track can be evaluated. The rating is taken into account and all tracks with marked ratings are presented in a separate menu. In terms of creating playlists, PlayerPro has gone far from its competitors - here this feature is really thought out.

PlayerPro Widgets

PlayerPro has a fairly simple equalizer, but in the settings you can find a lot of useful things: scrobbling, loading lyrics, customizing the design with themes, gestures and sound settings using the DSP module, and much more. There are also quite a lot of widgets - only six types. In general, PlayerPro does not lose to other players in any way, and in some moments even wins.

These were the best and functional players music on Android, but in addition to them, you should pay attention to these applications:

  • - mobile version the oldest player with powerful settings, but not the most user-friendly interface.
  • - a nice player with a standard set of functions.
  • - chinese app, known to many since the days of Symbian.
