A year ago, Microsoft offered the option of free updating Windows to a new version of the operating system - Windows 10. But the update did not go smoothly for everyone, in particular, many faced the problem that the start menu and notification bar did not work (often, this is a critical error).
Sometimes this can also affect those who did not update their operating system, but bought a pre-installed one. And today, in this article, I will tell you about how to fix this problem.
In total, 3 methods were found to solve this problem.
They are somewhat complicated for a beginner, but if you follow the instructions presented, everything will turn out to be quite simple.
What to do if the start does not work and the taskbar does not open in Windows 10
Method 1: Checking system files
Since this error often affects system files, they can become corrupted, which is what causes our problem.
That is why, before looking for more complicated ways to solve the problem, it is necessary to check the integrity of system files with the built-in Windows utility.
The necessary utility can be run both through the command line and using powershell.
We will use the second option, as it will come in handy in the following methods.
We launch the Task Manager. You can use to start Ctrl + Shift + Esc or in the usual way Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose Task Manager.
Task Manager can be launched in expanded and minimized form.
We need an expanded view, but if the dispatcher starts in a minimized one, click on the "Details" button 
Choose: File \ Run a new task
We launch Windows PowerShell - for this we enter in the window powershell and be sure to check the box next to "Create a task with administrator rights.
Click OK.
Enter the command to check and press Enter
Sfc /scannow
We are waiting for the end of the check.
This method is the simplest of those proposed, but it also helps in rare cases, but nevertheless, it is worth trying it before moving on to more complex ones.
Method 2. Automatic reinstallation (re-registration) of applications for Windows
To fix a broken Start button, you can re-register applications. This operation is automatic and takes a few minutes.
It is worth noting that this operation may delete your data in these applications, so you must first backup your programs
For data on the Internet - OneDrive - do not worry, nothing will happen to them. Also, nothing will happen to applications that use the Internet as a place to save their data.
Important! Please note that some users have experienced that some applications did not work for them after this operation. Please take this into account before using this method.
Starting the process powershell with administrator rights, as we did in Way 1.
Copy the following text
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach(Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml")
Paste the copied text into the window powershell by pressing the key combination Ctrl+V and press Enter
Wait until the end of the procedure.
Method 3. Adding a new user to restore a damaged file
Another cause of the problem in question can be a corrupted Tile Data Layer file.
To fix this problem, you need to create a new user, and then copy the file of interest to us and paste it into the current profile.
In principle, you can not copy the file, but simply continue working in a new profile, but I will still consider the full solution to the problem.
First of all, start the command line.
1. To do this, use the keyboard shortcut Win + X and select Command Prompt (Administrator).
You can also start using the task manager, as we did in the previous methods, but instead of powershell you will need to write cmd and don't forget the checkbox.
netuser tempadmin1 password /add
netuser tempadmin2 password /add
netuser localgroup administrators tempadmin2 /add
Why do you need two? The fact is that further actions will require exactly two working profiles.
Since in our case, the main profile is malfunctioning due to the start menu and the notification bar, we create two new ones.
Thanks to this, we will be able to access the correct file.
3. So, let's continue - we have created two users, now we log out - Ctrl + Alt + Del and select the “Exit” item.
4. Log in as tempadmin1 with password password.
5. Then immediately do Exit.
Do not confuse with changing users, we need to log out of the system.
6. After that, we go into the system under tempadmin2 with the password password.
7. Now click on the start button with the right button and go to the "explorer".
8. On the "View" tab, check the box next to "Hidden elements".
9. In the same window, follow the path C:\Users\TempAdmin1\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer
10. Right-click on the Database folder and select Copy.
11. Go to the following path C:\Users\!!Your username!!!\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer
12. Right-click on the Database folder and select rename. rename, for example, to Database.old
13. Right-click in any empty space and select Paste
14. We restart the computer and try to enter our normal profile, everything should work.
That's all.

We are looking for the cause of the failure of the touch panel
Most often, the touchpad stops responding to touch due to contamination. The touchpad is cleaned with a soapy swab, after which it must be wiped with a damp cloth and allowed to dry. Do not forget that the panel does not react to greasy or wet hands.
Also, a problem with the panel may occur when the sensitivity is set too high in its settings. You can change these settings in the "Mouse" item through the control panel.
If not the entire panel does not work, but its individual functions - scrolling or moving the cursor - you need to check for the presence of drivers for the touch panel. To do this, you need to go to the properties of the "My Computer" shortcut and select "Device Manager". If the touchpad is not displayed there, the driver may not have been installed on it. You can find drivers on the disk that comes with the laptop or on the manufacturer's website. It is very important that the driver version is higher than 1.0. Quite often, standard drivers are installed incorrectly.
If the touchpad does not work in general, then first you need to check the simplest things. For example, the touchpad can simply be disabled. You can enable the panel in several ways:
Use the combination Fn + one of the keys from F1 to F12;
Use the touchpad on / off button (if any);
Enable the touchpad using the utility that is hidden in the tray;
Disable the mouse, which will automatically enable the touchpad.
And finally, the last option is that the touchpad. Over time, everything breaks down.
So, in order to identify the cause of the touch panel malfunction, you must first eliminate the simplest causes, and if nothing helped, then you already need to contact the service center.
There is no open flame, but if used carelessly, you can get an electric shock. The products are very reliable, but sometimes users call the service center to report that the electric stove has broken. Of course, the overhaul of such household appliances with increased danger should be carried out skilled craftsman. - the burners and/or the oven do not heat up;
- indicators do not light up;
- one of the burners does not heat up well;

In the third option, you can eliminate the defect yourself - it is necessary disassemble the plug and tighten the wire fastening screws, or make a new connection, cut the wire, remove the braid, strip the wires, and connect them to the contact point.
Product does not turn on
Why do the indicators on the stove not work, there is no heating of the burner, there is no reaction to switching modes? The reason lies in no electric current supply to the product. To localize plate malfunctions, everything must be done in stages:
- we check the voltage in the outlet with a multimeter, if not, turn off the home network, disassemble and eliminate the detected wire break;
- if everything works in the outlet, we disassemble the plug and do a similar check;
- then we check the network wire - perhaps an internal break in the core has occurred, it must be replaced;
The second reason may be heating element burnout burners or heating elements of the oven - they cannot be repaired, they are simply replaced with new devices. There is also such an option: the indicators are lit, but there is no heating of the burners and the heating element of the oven, why is this happening? In this case, it is necessary to understand without haste. First, everything must be inspected visually: are all the connections tightened as they should, if the wire has come off somewhere, or is there a melting of the PVC protection, which indicates a burning of the core. In this case, connect again, eliminating the burnt area.
The third, quite common reason - can break down switch, so the burner or oven simply does not turn on.
Important! You should not try to disassemble the switch, then it will be difficult to install all the springs in their original place, this requires skill and a lot of experience. Oven failures
Often in an electric stove. However, the most common error is no backlight inside the device, as a rule, there are two reasons.
- There is no contact between the supply wire and the lighting system - check the button responsible for turning on the backlight, if it breaks, replace it.
- A light bulb has burned out - the ceiling protects it from high temperatures, but they are so arranged that they often burn out from the slightest voltage drop.
When a short circuit occurs in the electrical system of the stove, the lamps in the oven are the first to burn out.
Oven fan
To better distribute the heat in the oven over the entire area, the designers installed a powerful fan, which sometimes may not function correctly: it rotates continuously or does not turn on at all. This type of failure is associated with control unit, therefore, it is useless to carry out repairs on your own - you need the appropriate equipment for diagnostics in order to accurately install, change the fan or the unit itself.
No heating element
When the oven of the electric stove heats up weakly, the main reason lies in the health of the heating element. These products, like the heating elements of the hob burners, cannot be repaired - they need to be replaced. Sometimes, which happens very rarely, burn out thermostat, which regulates the temperature inside the device - it is dismantled and a new one is installed.
Such a malfunction is very rare: the hostess turns on the oven, and the product immediately turns off completely. When checking the circuit breaker on the electrical panel, it turns out that he turned off the power supply to the product - perhaps there was a short circuit, it is necessary to change the heating element.

Bad heating
Weak heating of the surface of the induction hotplate of an electric stove can occur due to the fact that the bottom of the cookware is much smaller than the diameter of the latter, or there is not enough contact - cookware with a deformed bottom. Smart hotplates do not heat up in this case. To troubleshoot, you should only use one that is suitable for the induction hob.
Another reason for poor heating is the loose fit of the burner block on the inside of the glass-ceramic hob. In this case, you need adjust springs clamping device. This can also happen with a strong overheating of the induction winding, which happens extremely rarely.
Burner not working
Very often, such malfunctions in the operation of induction burners occur due to the user:
- the diameter of the bottom of the dishes must be at least 12 cm - this will provide a sufficient area of \u200b\u200bcontact with the hob;
- bottom thickness should be in the range of 2-6 mm;
- first, a burner is selected, dishes are placed on it, and then the power of the cooking mode is set.
- the temperature sensor is out of order;
- there is no heating for a pair of burners on the left - their connection to the power board and control unit is broken;
- when the same happens with the right block - there is no contact in the terminal box, you need to check the fuse, if it's blown, install a new one.
In case of such malfunctions, it is necessary to call the master from the service, and not open the electric stove - only he is able to make the correct diagnosis in order to determine the problem with the power supply, control or the burners themselves.
