Motorola moto x smartphones. Description Moto X Force, specifications, reviews, price. Moto x force buy. Sound, player, radio

Hello. Today I will tell you about the best Android smartphone of 2015 - Motorola X Style. A smartphone that you are unlikely to buy. Why? At least not every one of you is ready to master the process of buying goods from the USA, well, due to the lack of a warranty for the device in the country from which you are reading this review.

We bought a Motorola X Style on pre-order, a 32GB model with a bamboo cover. Shipping cost about $ 50 and the smartphone itself cost us $ 450. All this beauty arrived in just 4 days. And most importantly, we did not pre-order on Motorola's website, but on Amazon. There, Motorola representatives also placed pre-orders for this smartphone.

Design.

It's a comical situation that for a year in a row 3 companies have been making smartphones in the same design: Sony, HTC, Motorola. But it is only the last to get away with it. In my opinion, this is all because the design of the smartphone itself is to some extent created by you. On the official website there is a constructor where you can come up with your own phone design, there are a lot of colors and different materials for the back of the device. Depending on the choice of color, the color of the metal panel with the camera and individual elements near the speakers of the smartphone also change. I did not experiment and order the Style with a leather cover and limited myself to a bamboo cover.

The material is very pleasant, at first glance you expect to see a piece of wood covered with varnish, in fact it is a matte and rough finish that does not slip at all in your hand. If you have ever held bamboo products in your hands, then you will definitely recognize it by its tactile sensations.

Externally, Moto X Style has not changed much compared to the previous model of 2014: the screen has increased by half an inch, instead of one speaker, now there are two active and normal sizes of the upper and lower frames, and not the way it was before - not proportionally.

By and large, Motorola X Style is, so to speak, an improved Nexus 6, in mind and dimensions, for sure. Only the screen is better, the camera shoots more seriously and the sound capabilities of the device are not sourly pumped.

And most importantly, a smartphone is available with 16/32/64 GB of memory with the ability to use a microsd card up to 128 GB. This is what the Nexus devices really lacked. There is one more feature, Motorola X Style is announced as a single-digit smartphone, but even this version has a physical module for a second SIM card, and the slot for it is simply covered with a cover that can be removed. Apparently Motorola limited the work of the second module purely in the firmware, so I'm sure over time somewhere in the open spaces of xda-developers.com there will be a firmware that turns this model into a two-SIM one. The SIM card slot itself is a separate work of art; in such a small slot, they managed to fit two SIM cards and another microsd slot. Very rational use of functional space in the device body.

Screen.

As for the Motorola X Style screen, it is as big as it is generally advisable to do it: 5.7 ”, 2K resolution, TFT LCD screen type.

It has a very bright screen, comparing to the same Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + Motorola has colder shades, but the brightness is still higher.

By the way, in the screen settings, you can choose two modes: normal and bright. The factory has a Vivid mode, in this mode the colors seem neutral, but if we turn on the Normal mode, which says about realistic color display, the picture becomes even colder. In general, if you are used to Samsung screens, then such realism of colors will seem to you too negative.

But I also really liked these neutral shades. The Motorola X Style's screen is gorgeous, there's nothing to argue about.

Performance.

The speed of Moto X Style is at the level of all modern flagships, with only one exception: the pure shell of Android Lollilop is not so resource-hungry, which in practice gives an even greater performance result. The unclogged and not overloaded system of Moto X Style works very quickly, and the use of the Snapdragon 808 processor does not seem like a strange decision - it does not heat up so much, and the performance is enough for any applications and games.

By the way, you can't call a smartphone cold either. While listening to music online or video over 3G, the smartphone heats up and you can feel it. The temperature is distributed evenly throughout the body and does not cause any special discomfort in the hands. On the other hand, now it is difficult to find a smartphone that will not get warm at all when working with heavy games or applications.

There is 3 GB of RAM, this is enough for quick animation of the interface and instant start or switching between applications. For example, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +, the new Moto X Style feels like a racing balid. This is what an operating system that is not overloaded with functions means.

Software.

In terms of software, Motorola X Style is a copy of Nexus, you won't see any difference in the interface of pure Android 5.1.1. As additional functions, some Motorola "goodies" have been integrated here:

The camera is triggered by a simple double movement of the brush. At the moment the camera is launched, a vibration response occurs, so you will know for sure that the gesture worked.

The Moto Voice voice control mode unfortunately does not work in Russian, but in English it perfectly recognizes commands when the screen is locked. Since everything happens through Google Now, in fact, you can ask the smartphone whatever you want, if the command pronounced is not included in the set of standard applications, then the phone will simply use the Google search.

Camera.

The Moto X 2014 had one big drawback - a weak camera. Everything has changed in Moto X Style, the 21 MP camera takes very cool pictures, it can be compared to the camera from Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4.

Photo processing algorithms are very different from other cameras in smartphones. Let's just say the shots that come out on Moto X Style can be called ideal for further processing.

Shooting takes place in an honest resolution of 21 MP with an aspect ratio of 4: 3. The shots are very detailed, and the HDR mode performs almost as well as it did in the Nexus 5 smartphone.

Moto X Style can shoot 4K video, but the camera lacks optical stabilization.

The selfie camera is 5 MP and to my surprise there is a separate LED flash for selfies. In the dark, the pictures are of good quality, but for example, Samsung and LG smartphones have better algorithms for processing selfie pictures, especially when photographing oneself in a dimly lit place.

Like the iPhone, the Moto X Style camera interface is simplified as much as possible, the phone was made for the average user who does not need manual camera settings. You just take it out of your pocket, click on any area on the screen and take a picture.

Although it should be given its due, the process of focusing and adjusting the exposure is made in an original and convenient way, in the form of a round slider.

The verdict on the camera is as follows: Moto X Style is a very strong photo solution, it can and should be bought as a smartphone for frequent shooting. The disadvantages of this camera are the same as in all Android smartphones - the lack of normal burst shooting, which is very important in mobile photography.

No one has yet reached the level of the iPhone with its 999 frames and lightning-fast autofocus. Otherwise, I highly recommend looking at the Moto X Style as a strong photography solution.

Sound

When I ordered Moto X Style, I had concerns about the sound in the headphones of this smartphone. Fortunately, my fears were in vain, the volume reserve is very good. I listened to music in Xiaomi Piston 3 headphones - everything is at a good level, loud and energetic. So, if you are not indifferent to the question of the audio component of the device, you can rely on my hearing and feel free to choose this smartphone.

The Moto X Style speakers are very loud, and in terms of structure and volume they are comparable to those of the HTC One M9 and M8. Of course, they are inferior in sound quality, but overall the smartphone is incredibly loud.

Battery life Moto X Style.

When you hold in your hands a smartphone with a diagonal of 5.7 inches, you involuntarily imagine a capacious battery, which in theory should provide a decent battery life. Alas, Moto X Style is not the case.

A 3000 mAh battery is installed here. On average, you can get 4 hours of screen life from a smartphone. In my mode, with maximum brightness, power saving mode disabled and with 3 GB of mobile traffic pumped out, the active screen lasted 3 hours 30 minutes.

If you look from the point of view of high consumption, then not one normal person should look at the smartphone screen for 4 hours. You can count on one full day of work.

But this story has another side of the coin. The smartphone comes with a power supply unit for fast charging, literally in 20-25 minutes you can charge your smartphone by 50%. The smartphone charges up to 100% in just over an hour. This is what compensates for the not too long operating time of the smartphone.

If you turn on the power saving mode, set the automatic brightness control, then you don't have to worry about the fast discharge. In any case, I would like to get a more capacious battery for this device.

Conclusion.

The Motorola X Style is a very attractive $ 400 smartphone. Unique design, cool display, good performance, a camera that will impress any lover of mobile photography and of course pure Android. For some reason it seems to me that in 2015 this smartphone should be chosen by you in place of the new Nexus. The Moto X Style's only weakness is its battery life. It is not critical, but I would like it better.

It is highly respected by advanced users, first of all, for its low price and high quality. The company's smartphones are still produced with the original design and have a number of interesting features, be it long battery life, indestructibility of the case, Activity Display function or chic multimedia capabilities. At the same time, the developer practically does not litter stock Android and promptly updates even old models to the latest version. The Moto X Play smartphone is no exception to these rules.

The novelty looks expensive and stylish. This is largely due to the use of an ultra-clear and high-quality screen, covered with mineral glass. The smartphone received an original body with interchangeable back panels. The manufacturer also claims a long battery life and a functional main camera with a resolution of 21 megapixels. The device has support for all modern wireless services, including LTE cat.4, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC.

Instructions

Warranty card

The appearance and dimensions of the Moto X Play are typical for most existing 5.5-inch tablet phones. Nevertheless, the device is rather large for its class. Apparently, this is due to the presence of a capacious battery. The dimensions of the smartphone are 148x75x8.9-10.9 mm, the weight is 169 grams.

It is convenient to hold the phone in your hands. The rubberized surface of the back cover does not allow the device to slip out of hands.

It can be difficult to carry the phablet in the pockets of tight clothing. You can't just sit down and get up. You need to position the device so that it does not hinder movement. Meanwhile, there are no such features in loose clothing.

Design and appearance

id = "sub2">

Externally, Moto X Play differs from smartphones from other manufacturers. The body is made of hard plastic that looks like metal. The material looks durable. The back of the device is curved, so the size is indicated both in the thinnest part and in the middle, where the thickening is maximal.

The back is removable. Includes two additional panels. I had a black version, and included a blue and purple panel. The lid has a relief pattern similar in tactile sensations to the rubberized surface. Thanks to the material, the smartphone fits comfortably in the hand and even if you take it with wet hands, it will not slip out.

On the back of the gadget there is a recess with the company logo placed in it. When you hold the device in your hands, your finger lies in it, it is convenient.

The assembly is of high quality. During two weeks of testing as the main phone, I did not find any squeaks or gaps.

The Moto X Play's body and components are treated with a water-repellent liquid. The developer declares compliance with the IP52 standard. This means that the smartphone cannot be heated, but it must withstand a heavy downpour.

In Motorola, for some countries, it is possible to customize the phone for yourself. To do this, you need to use the special utility MOTOMaker. You choose the color of the body, panels and design. However, this service is not available in Russia. By default, Moto X Play comes in two colors - white and black.

As for the placement of individual elements, almost the entire front part of the device is occupied by a touchscreen display with a diagonal of 5.5 inches. Above the display are located: proximity and light sensors, a slot for the earpiece and a front camera lens. There is a speaker under the screen for playing calls and music. It provides sufficient volume for calls and system messages, it will be enough for watching videos or listening to music. The sound is clear and distinct.

Around the perimeter of the front side there is a plastic rim slightly protruding above the protective glass. It protects the screen from scratches. The protective Gorilla Glass 3 has a good quality oleophobic coating. Trash and dirt are almost invisible.

The control buttons are located on the right side, and in order to make it easier to find them blindly, the volume control button is smooth, and the switches have vertical notches.

The phone has two microphones and a noise cancellation system that improves the quality of voice transmission. Microphones are located at the ends. Also on the top of the device you can see a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and next to it is a slot for nanoSIM-sized SIM cards and microSD memory cards. On one side of the tray, you can insert one or two SIM cards, on the other side - a memory card. It's quite convenient. The microUSB connector is located at the bottom.

On the back of the smartphone there is a main 21 Mpix camera lens with autofocus and LED flash. The camera block protrudes slightly from the surface. The area around the lens is made of durable plastic. In which case, she will take the brunt of the blow and protect the lens.

Screen. Graphics capabilities

id = "sub3">

The diagonal of the Moto X Play screen is 5.5 inches at a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels (403 ppi). The frames are quite narrow. The screen is made using IPS technology.

The image is very clear and detailed, there are no problems with small fonts. As for the colors, they are very bright. It is annoying in places, but users like bright pictures. The viewing angles are maximum here. When deviating from the normal, the colors do not fade or change their tone. There are anti-reflective and oleophobic coating. The display is easy to read in the sun, and fingerprints on the protective glass are weak. The viewing angles are maximum.

The multitouch technology here allows you to process 10 simultaneous touches. When the smartphone is brought to your ear, the display is locked using a proximity sensor.

The ambient light sensor correctly detects the backlight, however, sometimes it does not do it as quickly as we would like. In which case, you can turn off the automation and set your own backlight brightness option.

The Moto X Play's screen comes across as very high quality and on par with the best in its class. It is comfortable to watch movies, photos, multimedia presentations on it.

Hardware platform: processor, memory, speed

id = "sub4">

Moto X Play is equipped with a chip with an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 processor (4 x Cortex-A53 1.7 GHz + 4 x Cortex-A53 1.0 GHz), a graphics coprocessor Adreno 405. RAM 2 GB. The built-in memory in the device is 16 GB (8 GB is available to the user). You can expand this volume using microSD cards up to 128 GB.

The performance of the used chip is average. Often there are slowdowns in the interface. Third-party programs don't always open quickly. There are slowdowns in the menu, for example, in the list of SMS or calls. This is worth remembering. The Moto X Play is far from flagships.

The pluses of the hardware include relatively low power consumption. This has the most positive effect on battery life.

Communication capabilities

id = "sub5">

The smartphone supports all modern mobile networks: both 2G, 3G, and 4G, including all frequencies used in Russia. The phone worked without any problems with test SIM cards of MTS, MegaFon, Tele2.

The device confidently receives the signal and does not lose it for no apparent reason. It's comfortable to talk on the phone. The speaker volume is high. In noisy conditions, you can not be afraid to talk. The interlocutor will be heard, and the interlocutor will hear you.

The device has two slots for nanoSIM, but there is only one radio module. You cannot talk on two numbers at the same time. The restriction is common.

The device can work with all modern wireless networks. Among them are dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n, Wi-Fi Direct, you can organize a wireless access point via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth channels. There is a built-in LTE modem and NFC. Connection to a computer is carried out using a USB 2.0 connector.

Additional communication means include GPS, A-GPS (standard Google Maps is built into the smartphone). The radius of navigation error during testing is about 5 meters, which is very small. The gadget does a good job of being a navigator.

Duration of work

id = "sub6">

The Moto X Play has a 3630mAh Li-ion battery. With a usage model that includes about half an hour of calls a day, periodic correspondence in social networks and instant messengers, email synchronization enabled, geolocation only via Wi-Fi and 10-15 pictures, the smartphone worked for 3 days. In testing conditions, with the number of calls 35-40 minutes a day, browsing the Internet for about 2 hours via 4G, listening to an mp3 player through a headset for about 2 hours a day, the device worked for about 2 days. When watching a video, the smartphone worked for 8 hours, in navigator mode - about 5 hours. If you use the device as a dialer, then on a single charge it will last 5 days, and maybe even more.

The battery life of the Moto X Play is impressive. This is one of the most tenacious devices that can be found on sale.

In addition, it uses TurboCharger technology (similar to Qualcomm's QuickCharge or Samsung's Fast Adaptive Charge), with which the battery can be fully charged in about 1 hour and 20 minutes. The smartphone has a power saving mode. In this scenario, the operating time will increase by at least 20%. In addition, you can activate the shutdown of the device on a schedule at night. It will also have a positive impact on battery life.

User interface and operating system

id = "sub7">

The smartphone runs Android 6.0 with an identical reference OS. The changes are extremely minor. The menu organization is familiar to Android.

I can attribute the Activity Display function to the peculiarities of work. It shows event notifications and time on the locked screen of your smartphone. Due to this, the Moto X Play dispenses with even a notification indicator on the front panel. You take your smartphone out of your pocket or take it from the table, and the display shows the time, date and the number of missed notifications for 2-3 seconds. The function is tied to the movement of the mobile phone in space. Such automation works, by the way, perfectly, but it cannot do without false alarms. I liked this feature.

In addition to the Activity Display mode, the Moto X Play software differs from the reference Android 6 with the redrawn "Galleries". In addition, there was a program for connecting with smart watches and an advanced voice assistant "Moto Voice", which, however, does not support Russian.

Music and video viewing

id = "sub8">

The smartphone uses a standard player to play music. If you wish, you can install any other application, this is Android. On the plus side, I can mention the built-in FM radio application.

As for the sound quality, everything is in order. When paired with quality headphones, you get great sound. The package does not include a headset. Thanks to the 3.5 mm jack, you can pick up any headphones.

Camera and video filming

id = "sub9">

The Moto X Play has two cameras. The main one is 21 megapixels with an aperture of f / 2.0 (model IMX230). It fits neatly into the body, barely protruding above the surface. A focusing system and a dual flash are located under the lens. The camera shoots well, but not perfect. In difficult lighting, in the twilight, the photos are good, but the same Samsungs shoot much better. In HDR mode, images are not always sharp.

In addition to the automatic mode, manual settings are also provided. To do this, Motorola used its proprietary camera application. I honestly did not like it. The settings are meager and incomprehensible from the point of view of logic. For example, by default you cannot set dynamic focus. Instead, when you touch an object, the picture is taken. Autofocus works slowly, often fails and focuses on the wrong subjects.

The maximum video quality is FullHD, 30 frames per second. Focusing here also fails, often the picture is blurred when you move the camera or it thinks that such a movement has occurred.

The front camera is five megapixels and does a good job with video calls and selfies.

Outcome

id = "sub10">

Of course, Moto X Play looks like an interesting option among the large number of 5.5-inch smartphones. Great screen, good daylight camera that captures decent shots and outperforms almost every competitor in its class. And most importantly, it has a long battery life.

But the device also has disadvantages, which include not the fastest chip and camera interface and very slow focus.

Considering that you can find many Chinese smartphones on sale with similar characteristics (the same), but at a lower price, buying the Moto X Play does not seem justified. If only Moto was sold for at least 25,000 rubles! Then there would be no price for him!

Benefits

Great screen

Support for two SIM cards

High-quality assembly

Very long battery life

disadvantages

Not the fastest chip

Average quality camera

On the day of publication of this test review, a Moto X Play with 16 GB of internal memory could be purchased for 29,990 rubles.

For many years, Motorola has been pleasing its users with a variety of gadgets that are pleasant in terms of price and design, and most importantly, in terms of quality. This time they also decided to keep up with world trends and released, if not the flagship, then the closest to it Moto X Play model, the reviews of which speak of a good price-quality-performance ratio. But first things first.

Factory complete set

The Moto X Play LTE smartphone is delivered, despite the fact that it is far from budget, in a simple cardboard box. In it you can find a proprietary charging unit with two outputs of different power, a USB cable, a paper clip, again made in the corporate style, and documents. There is no battery in the list, since it is not removable and is already installed in the smartphone.

As many Play buyers note, they expected a richer package for this price, but there was no case or headset in the box. And even a simple protective glass was not available, but all these accessories can be purchased separately.

Design and appearance

The smartphone has got quite impressive dimensions. This is caused by both the large display and the rather wide bezels around it. A capacious battery also makes itself felt, as a result of which the thickness of the smartphone was as much as 11 mm. These indicators also affected the weight of the gadget, which reached 169 grams. Not critical, but for some users it may not be entirely comfortable.

Despite such indicators, you quickly get used to the Moto X Play Black smartphone, however, like most models of this manufacturer. The phone is easy to hold, it does not slip out of your hands thanks to the rubberized back cover, which also has a nice wavy ornament.

In the factory version, the back panel is only black or white, but additional panels in seven more colors are sold separately as an accessory, so the smartphone can be as unique as possible.

Otherwise, the Motorola Moto X Play 16Gb gadget has completely repeated the corporate design with which fans are familiar over the past few years. Even the controls are positioned exactly the same as on previous flagship devices.

Display and touch panel

As in most modern mid-range devices, a high-quality display is installed here, made according to the IPS standard and having a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. This is quite enough for the picture to be pleasant, and the pixelation is not striking even with very painstaking examination.

In addition, such a matrix allows you to economize on the battery power of the Motorola Moto X Play, while not bringing any discomfort to use. The viewing angles are very wide, the colors don't change, even if you look at the display almost parallel to the phone. The brightness margin is quite sufficient for operating the device in very bright sunlight, but the lower threshold is a little too large and slightly dazzles in complete darkness, you need to get used to it.

The touch panel is protected by 3 glass, which allows you to use your smartphone without a protective film. However, it is worth remembering that the glass is resistant to scratches, but it can still break, so you should use it as carefully as possible. missing, but there were no problems removing prints from the glass.

Headphone and speaker sound

Despite the fact that there are two slots for speakers on the front panel of the device, in fact only the lower one is polyphonic, while the upper one serves only for conversations. Still, the main music speaker pleased with its sound. This is not to say that it is perfect, but overall it is quite good. The volume is at a sufficient level to hear a ringing signal in a noisy street, the sound quality does not suffer, and there is no rattling.

The location of the speaker on the main front panel contributed to a more comfortable viewing of videos and listening to music. No matter how the Moto X Play is lying on a table or other surface, there are no obstacles to the sound, so it does not distort.

The sound also did not disappoint in the headphones. The volume is quite enough, sometimes even too much. The frequencies are revealed quite well, there is no excess of any particular frequency. If desired, you can bring the sound to perfection using the equalizer.

Front and rear cameras

In this matter, the manufacturer decided not to waste time on trifles and install the same modules as in their flagship models. The differences are due only to the capabilities of the processors. On this device, video cannot be recorded in 4K resolution, only 1920x1080, but this is quite enough for a high-quality video. Also, the frequency is reduced to 540 frames per second.

Otherwise, the indicators are quite worthy of the flagship. The main camera is a 21-megapixel module from Sony, which is enough to compete with inexpensive cameras in good lighting in terms of image quality. But, given the low aperture of the Moto X Play 16Gb optics itself, which is inherent in any phone, noise will inevitably appear in the dark or in low light. The flash can correct this situation only at a distance of up to 2 meters, and even then not completely.

The front camera is ideal for video calling. You can also take selfies with it, but the quality here will be noticeably worse than that of the main one. Noises appear in lighting conditions other than bright sunlight, so you should not hope for a good shot indoors.

"Iron" characteristics

The manufacturer decided not to betray the tradition of modern mid-range smartphones, so Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 chip with 8 1.7 GHz cores acted as the main Moto X Play LTE processor. It has a graphics accelerator Adreno 405, and it works in tandem with 2 GB DDR3 RAM.

Not the most brilliant characteristics for this price, but the solution is quite productive and energy efficient, so there should definitely not be any problems with the comfort of using the smartphone. 16 GB flash memory is provided for storing user files as well as system programs. If it turns out to be small (and it will most likely be if you download videos and movies in high quality), then you can expand it using a microSD memory card up to 128 GB, while you do not have to choose, as in most modern smartphones, between the second SIM card or additional memory. This moment positively distinguishes the Moto X Play model from competitors, reviews repeatedly emphasize the benefits of such a solution.

In synthetic tests, the Motorola Moto X Play 16Gb smartphone did not show any unique results, rather mediocre values for this price segment. So, Antutu gives about 42,000 points, depending on the firmware version.

There were no problems when testing with real applications. The smartphone can easily cope with work in several messengers at the same time, while simultaneously allowing you to keep a browser with several tabs and a video player in memory. It also seems to cope with heavy games without much difficulty, but in this case it is better to close unnecessary programs in order to free up more space in the RAM.

Software

As in other lines of smartphones from the manufacturer, the Moto X Play 16Gb gadget received pure Android with a minimum set of additional functions. This makes the system lightweight and energy efficient. Most devices are supported to a high standard, so despite the latest 6.0.1 operating system out of the box, a lot of updates can be expected. It is also possible that the version will be upgraded to a more up-to-date one, so that fans who always have the latest software at the moment can safely take this device.

Battery and autonomy

The gadget is equipped with a fairly durable battery with a capacity of 3630 mAh. And, if for the flagship models this figure may seem small due to the rather demanding iron on the power supply, then in this model everything turned out just fine. A processor with a relatively low power consumption and an economical screen allow you to use your smartphone throughout the day, loading it as much as possible and not worrying that the charge will not be enough until the evening.

Included with the Moto X Play device, whose autonomy is only positive, comes with a charging unit that can charge the gadget's battery from 0 to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. However, this time can be cut by three times, and spend a little over an hour on a full charge, because the device supports the fast charging function. True, for this you have to spend money on an additional accessory called TurboCharger. Considering the cost of the smartphone, however, it is strange that this option is not included in the package.

Positive aspects according to user reviews

Since the smartphone went on sale only in the summer of 2016, there are not so many reviews about it. But of those that are at the moment, it is already possible to put together a clear picture that pleases the eye of a lover of high-quality technology. So, among the strengths of the Moto X Play model, reviews of which have just begun to appear on the network, we can note:

 • The main camera with a resolution of 21 MP and high-quality optics. In terms of creating high-quality images and video recording, the smartphone has practically no equal in its price segment. Its only drawback is, perhaps, insufficient aperture for shooting at night, but if we take into account that we are holding a moto X Play 16Gb smartphone, and not a camera, then this moment is inherent in all devices with a small matrix size.
 • Nice design. As with most gadgets from this manufacturer, the smartphone is pleasing to the eye and lies in the hand. The number of additional options that allow you to personalize your gadget also attracts. For this, for example, you can purchase a suitable Moto X Play case that will emphasize your style and increase the safety of using the gadget.
 • Good battery life. A capacious battery, paired with a low-demand iron, allows you not to think about having a power outlet throughout the day, even with active use of the Moto X Play. The performance characteristics were not affected at all. And if the smartphone is used only for short calls, then it can be enough for up to 3 days without recharging.
 • High quality display and sensor. A high-quality picture and excellent sensor sensitivity, coupled with its high durability, is exactly what you need for comfortable use of your smartphone without worrying about scratches. If you are interested in color accuracy indicators, you can find more than one Moto X Play review on the net, which reveals the results of tests of the display matrix from a laboratory point of view.

As you can see, the smartphone can satisfy the needs of even the most demanding users. However, even such seemingly ideal models have their drawbacks.

Negative points based on reviews

Most of the negative aspects do not relate to performance, but still do not honor the manufacturer, although in most cases you can close your eyes to them. Among them are the following:

 • Poor starter set of accessories. The lack of additional components in the out-of-the-box version was an unpleasant bonus for many buyers. The smartphone has a large number of branded accessories, but you will have to buy them all separately. And this is taking into account that they can not always be found on sale, in most cases you will have to order blindly via the Internet. Considering that the price of the Moto X Play is not so low, the kit could have at least a block and a cable for fast charging the battery.
 • Quite high cost. If you purchase a Moto X Play smartphone outside the manufacturer's exchange program, the cost may seem overpriced. If you do not take into account the camera, similar models from other manufacturers can be purchased almost half the price, so in most cases this model is suitable for purchase by fans of the company.
 • A small amount of built-in memory considering such characteristics, as a result of which its expansion is simply necessary.

Otherwise, users are satisfied with everything, and such shortcomings, which practically do not affect performance, can be ignored.

Conclusion

The smartphone is a high-quality and productive solution for solving all everyday tasks related to communication and communication. You shouldn't expect fantastic performance from it, but it handles all applications without much difficulty. The good autonomy and pleasant design of the Moto X Play model, the review of which makes it possible to draw conclusions about the smartphone, can attract those who do not want to lose face in front of business partners.

Slightly overpriced, as for the Moto X Play model, the price will not allow buying a smartphone with a low income level, so this model will be optimal for business, but it can also be an excellent gift for a loved one. The choice of the intended use of this model is truly limitless, so it all depends on you, desires and available budget.

Despite the relative simplicity of the design of modern Motorola smartphones, it is unique and easily recognizable. Two wide speaker slots on the bezel, rounded corners and back panelAnd, of course, the vertical stripe with the camera lens, LED flash and stylized letter M are the main distinguishing features of Moto devices. All four Motorola smartphones, recently presented in Russia, are made in this style, and outwardly differ only in the size and number of sensors on the front panel. Have Moto X Style There are a lot of them, which is especially noticeable on the white color, so if the accumulation of circles and ovals around the top speaker seems ridiculous to you, it is better to choose the black option. Others, apparently, are not foreseen - the Moto Maker service, which allows you to independently choose the colors of each main element and the material of the back panel, is still not available in Russia. Those wishing to get their hands on the Moto X Style with a wooden or leather back will still have to order a smartphone from overseas.

However, we also liked the standard materials very much. The display is protected by glass Gorilla Glass 3, and water-repellent coating provides some protection against splashes and drops. Rubberized back panel pleasant to the touch and does not tend to slip out of hands, but metal frame noticeably strengthens the structure - the smartphone perfectly resists bending. Here, however, its thickness also plays a role, varying 7.5 to 11.1 mm... Motorola once again refuses to sacrifice functionality and durability for the sake of record subtlety, and this is good news. Of course, thin devices like the Huawei Mate S (7.2 mm) seem more elegant, but the Moto X Style is still calmer in the jeans pocket. The only disappointment is that with such dimensions, Motorola didn't bother to make the battery removable, and the back panel is firmly attached. (Nano-SIM and microSD cards are inserted in the tray in the common slot on the top edge.)

Speaking of dimensions: despite the 5.7-inch display and rather large speakers, the smartphone is even shorter and narrower than the 5.5-inch Apple iPhone 6S Plus and is only an inch longer than the 5-inch HTC One M9. The sound, although not as good as that of the HTC flagship, is still very loud and clear, even with hints of bass. Unfortunately, the complaints of many buyers about the top speaker turned out to be quite justified, it really wheezes slightly when listening to music at high volumes. But just that slightly: if you don't hold the device close to your ear (and you definitely shouldn't do this at high volume), it is almost impossible to hear the defect. If your player has an equalizer, you can try reducing the bass slightly. For hands-free communication, only the bottom speaker is used, so during a phone or Skype conversation, the problem disappears altogether.
