Positioning

Sales of the Droid Turbo 2 began in the US at the end of the year, this is an operator version of the device, in Europe, including Russia, it will be sold under the name Moto X Force, the only significant difference will be that it will appear on Android 6.x, and not 5.1 .one. The filling, design, and other aspects of these two models are absolutely identical, which allows you to combine them into one review, it is made according to the operator's version of the phone.

In 2015, Motorola tried to develop the direction of flagships, which dimmed against the background of competitors, the latter turned out to be more noticeable and more successful. The Motorola star, which Lenovo bought, if not rolled back, then went out, and the release of new products could not change this. I really like the phones from Motorola, they are extremely interesting in terms of price / quality ratio, but in the end they lose the battle for the market, as they are more expensive than their Chinese counterparts, close to the flagships from Samsung, Apple in terms of cost, which makes them the choice for most people are embarrassing. Why buy a Motorola, which few people remember, if you can choose the best in the eyes of the layman. This is roughly the way most people think, hence the modest high-end sales. The brand keeps its sales at the expense of inexpensive Moto G, as well as Moto E, but not the older models of the X line, which could not attract a mass buyer, although they are very, very good as an alternative to the mass flagships of other companies.

In the Moto X Force, in terms of specifications, everything is very good: the latest version of the chipset from Qualcomm, built-in fast charging, AMOLED screen and an indestructible screen made using proprietary ShatterShield technology. Motorola is so confident in the quality of this screen that it even offers an extended 4-year warranty on it in the US. If you break the screen during this time, the company will repair it free of charge. An excellent offer, which can be perceived as a kind of advertisement, since it will not work in other countries, including Russia.

This device can and should be considered as an alternative to the flagships of other companies, a phone that is purchased for one or two years. To some extent, Motorola is playing against such manufacturers as HTC, Sony, and its products have their own, easily recognizable style. Probably, potential buyers should go from this, whether they like the design of the device or not, and only then evaluate everything else. This is an alternative flagship with a number of interesting finds, however, let's talk about everything in order.

Design, dimensions, controls

Motorola usually gives an opportunity to customize the phone for yourself and your ideas about beauty, for this you can use a special utility MOTOMaker, you choose the color of the case, panels and design.

It's a pity, but the MOTOMaker service will not be available in Russia, so you will be purchasing the device as it is. Also, the design of the case in the form of kevlar threads will remain the hallmark of Verizon.

There are enough different phone design options to find your unique one. But in Russia everything will be much more modest, a few basic colors, and nothing more.

Outwardly, the device reminded me of the Moto X Play of 2015, they are twins and were clearly created on the same tracing paper. The pattern of the back panel is slightly different, but it's still the same geometric pattern, the phone does not slip in the hand, it is well and securely fixed in it.

The body is curved, so the size is indicated both at the thinnest part and in the middle, where the thickening is greatest. Dimensions - 149.8x78x7.6-9.2 mm, weight - 169 grams. Fits perfectly in the hand, weighty, you can get it out of your pocket without looking.

On the back there is a recess with the company logo. When you hold the device in your hands, your finger lies in it, it is convenient. There is an on / off button on the right side, it is ribbed and easy to feel without looking at the phone. Below is a paired volume key.

The phone has five microphones (versus two in the Moto X Play), together they make up one of the best noise canceling systems on the market, the device perfectly filters your voice even in the noisiest conditions, it is worth paying attention to everyone who has to talk in the wind. , under the noise of a jackhammer or in other unfavorable conditions.

At the top you can see a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and next to it there is a slot for SIM-cards and memory cards. The design of the holder is rather curious: on the one hand, you can insert one or two SIM-cards (in the Droid Turbo 2, there is only room for one card in the slot), on the other hand - a memory card. The fact that memory cards have appeared can be considered progress.

The microUSB connector is located at the bottom, everything is standard here.

Now a few words about Activity Display, in the previous model on the front panel, in addition to the light sensor, there were also IR sensors that sensed that you bring your hand to the screen, and included icons on it, with which you could quickly open the application or rewind music. Here it is exactly the same, but on the Moto X Play these sensors were removed due to the budget of the device.

The phone has an LED indicator, it is not too intrusive, so you will not be annoyed by its operation. Motorola has treated the body and components of the device with a water-repellent liquid, it meets the IP52 standard. It is impossible to heat, but he must calmly withstand a heavy downpour.

Externally, the front panel is designed so that it seems that there are two speakers. So, however, it is. But when playing music, only the lower speaker works, the upper one only during calls. There is nothing wrong with that, since the speaker volume is very high, the sound is clear and well-defined.

In terms of design, I like the entire Motorola line, this device is no exception. With MOTOmaker, you can change the device beyond recognition and get a truly unique model in appearance. In a word, to differ from other manufacturers, which have a very limited choice of colors.

Display

The sign of this year is that each flagship should get an AMOLED screen instead of an IPS matrix, this saves battery power and has other advantages. Motorola has been buying AMOLED matrices from Samsung for a long time, but they are several generations behind those that Samsung put in their devices. Nevertheless, these are good screens, simply devoid of additional customization options, they cannot be set to the power saving mode with the display of all content in gray tones, there is no color temperature adjustment. But the main problem of such matrices is the rather low brightness, I ran into this on the Nexus, where I just catastrophically lacked brightness, especially on the street. In the Moto X Force (pictured above), the brightness is comfortable, but there is no margin, and when compared with the Moto X Play, which has a regular IPS display, it turns out that it has a brighter backlight. And in the room there is practically no difference in picture quality.

The technical characteristics of the screen are as follows - 5.4 inches, QHD 2560x1440 pixels, 540 ppi, AMOLED. The automatic backlight adjustment works correctly, in most situations it detects the external conditions well. But let me remind you once again that the brightness of the backlight is clearly not enough outdoors, and when shooting, you often see a dim screen.

The phone uses ShatterShield technology, its essence lies in the special design of the screen and its components, assembled like a sandwich. Above - protective glass, under it - a second layer of glass, more flexible, then - a touch layer, after it - a flexible AMOLED screen manufactured by Samsung, and all this is placed on an aluminum substrate, which ensures the overall strength of the structure. Watch the video in which Motorola shows how durable the screen is.

Considering that the device that I had was provided by our reader, I did not abandon it and treated it with great care. But at the time of the start of sales in Russia, we will definitely make a video for the YouTube channel, where we will show how it all works. I saw with my own eyes how the X Force was thrown to the floor with force and the screen did not receive the slightest damage, this is a really working technology, and not some kind of marketing gimmick.

Battery

The characteristics of the built-in Li-Ion battery are as follows: 3760 mAh, the full charge time with the complete charger is about 1.5 hours. The phone has TurboCharger technology (an analogue of Qualcomm's QuickCharge or Samsung's Fast Adaptive Charge), with which the battery can be fully charged in about the same hour and a half (a normal charge takes almost 4 hours).

The device has built-in support for wireless charging (PMA / QI), everything works as it should, there are no problems here, but this is a rather slow way to charge the device.

The manufacturer claims that the phone can work up to 48 hours in mixed mode, that is, with active use, it will last for two days. I got about so much, despite the fact that the processor overheating did not go anywhere and, apparently, it had a negative effect on the operating time. But the presence of an AMOLED display neutralized this fact.

The device is very tenacious, and I have very good impressions of it, it works for a long time and gives a feeling of reliability, something that will not let you down at the most inopportune moment. Video playback time is up to 13-14 hours, which is very good. Look at the runtime I got with it, the minimum screen running on half the backlight - about 4.5 hours with a fairly active load.

Memory, RAM, chipset and performance

The phone has 3 GB of RAM, the built-in memory can be 32 or 64 GB, but there is also support for microSD memory cards up to 2 TB. This is a big plus for the device, especially against the background of the fact that the same Samsung refuses memory cards in many models.

The chipset inside the phone is a Snapdragon 810, 2 GHz, 8 cores, a graphics accelerator - Adreno 430. The performance of this solution is at the maximum level for solutions from Qualcomm and will remain so at least until mid-summer. Take a look at the synthetic test results below.

Unlike the Moto X Play, which is built on Snapdragon 615, it only has 2 GB of RAM, everything is much better here, and there were no slowdowns in the menu or programs. Everything flies as it should.

USB, Bluetooth, communication capabilities

BT 4.1 version, all profiles are supported, which can be considered a nice feature of the device. Depending on the model number, different frequencies are supported for LTE, there are always the following bands - 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 13.

For Wi-Fi, there is support for 802.11a / b / g / n / ac, dual band, dual-band 2x2 (MIMO). The phone has NFC, but the USB version is 2.0.

Camera

I was very disappointed that all the models of 2015 have the same camera (s), that is, there are no differences from the same Moto X Play, the devices shoot one to one. Read about the possibilities below.

The front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels, which is pretty good for its class. But the main camera is built on the Sony IMX230, it is a matrix with a resolution of 21 megapixels (f / 2.0), which corresponds to the best cameras in terms of picture quality in ideal conditions and clearly outperforms almost all models with a similar cost.

In absentia, this model was interesting to me precisely for the quality of the camera, I looked through a dozen reviews made by American publications, and I desired this device more than any other phone before. Even before I saw the phone, I had a strong impression that the camera is something and it can shoot at least as well as the flagships from Samsung.

The first disappointment was that Motorola used its own proprietary camera application, which can be considered very, very poor in ergonomics.

For example, by default, you cannot focus on an object by touching the screen, for this you need to turn on the appropriate mode, then exposure compensation will appear. This is not just inconvenient, it is a lopsided implementation that can never be justified.

The camera module uses 192 phase focus sensors, which in theory makes autofocus operation fast and hassle-free. The key word is in theory. Autofocus works slowly, often fails and focuses on the wrong subjects. Indoors, the camera blurs the picture, there is not enough sensor sensitivity. Look at two shots taken almost at once, in one the camera grabbed the picture, and in the other it typically blurred it.

In ideal conditions, when you have even, bright sunlight, there are no drops in contrast, the camera in Moto X shoots at the level of the best cameras from other manufacturers. But as soon as the lighting conditions deteriorate, write wasted. For example, taking a picture of a sunset and not getting porridge at the exit is an almost impossible task.

Moto X Play Galaxy EDGE +

To show the difference in the quality of the pictures, I took them with this camera and the Samsung EDGE +, I think the pictures speak for themselves.

And here are some photos in different places taken with the Moto X camera.

The oblivion of the once very popular American company Motorola has become a real technical or even cultural tragedy for many users. Indeed, thanks to bold design solutions, a high level of professionalism and frequent mention in mass pop culture, the products of this manufacturer quickly acquired a cult status, not only in the United States, but also far beyond its borders. And in our area it was difficult to find an educated person aged 20-40 years who at least once in his life did not fit in, did not have at his disposal, or simply was not an outspoken fan of mobile devices with the famous letter "M" on board.

And at the beginning of 2016, after a long series of ordeals, loud statements and several sales contracts, a timid spark of hope appeared in the hearts of fans. Lenovo (the current owner of the technical division of Motorola Mobility) announced a truly long-awaited return of the legend under the updated Moto brand, presenting to the public two very promising ones at once.

In this review, we'll take a look at the most powerful device available in the lineup - the flagship smartphone MotoXForce, which with all its appearance demonstrates the seriousness of the intentions of the Chinese manufacturer. Its body is made of ballistic nylon with a water-repellent nano-coating, while the screen is completely covered by the Moto ShatterShield shatterproof glass, which uses a proprietary design with an aluminum substrate, AMOLED matrix and a double touch layer. In addition, the gadget boasts a modern hardware platform based on an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 microprocessor and a 21-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus and a two-section LED flash, making it a serious player in the premium segment.

Delivery and equipment

As befits a flagship device, the Moto X Force has a stylish and, despite its size, quite elegant packaging. It is made of high-quality high-density cardboard and features a trendy minimalist design with a well-chosen color scheme.

The inside of the box is made in the form of a small organizer, where the smartphone itself is neatly placed, a proprietary charger with a non-removable USB cable, a clip for removing the tray with SIM and microSD cards, as well as standard user documentation.

Appearance, arrangement of elements

Despite the frequent change of ownership and the inevitable perturbations within the company itself, the design of Moto X Force, to the great delight of fans, retained the spirit of the "old school" for which the devices of the bygone generation were so loved. The device looks stylish, strict and damn attractive, as much as modern small arms or a work of art in the Hi-Tech style can attract attention.

The body of the smartphone, or rather its chassis, is made of high quality anodized aluminum. On the one hand, the frame is completely covered with a laminated protective glass, and on the other - with a small ballistic nylon insert, which has a water-repellent nano-coating. It really fights moisture very effectively, but due to the characteristic scaly texture of the back panel, it quickly collects dust and other dirt.

In terms of dimensions, the reviewed gadget is easily comparable to most standard 5-inch models. It fits seamlessly into a medium-sized palm and allows you to operate all available functions with one hand. The only thing that can remind of itself at the end of the working day is not the most modest weight of the device (169 g), which in general is a natural payment for the ultimate design and high reliability.

The entire front panel of Moto X Force is framed by a rather large plastic edging. It rises just a little above the glass, therefore it serves as a stylish decorative insert rather than a real protection against possible damage. The bezels around the display are pleasing as they don't take up a lot of usable space: 12mm on top, 17mm on the bottom and 5mm on the sides.

Above the display of the smartphone are located: an LED flash, a notification indicator, a proximity sensor and a light sensor, an earpiece and a front camera lens, and under it there are two oblong holes, under which a microphone (left) and a multimedia speaker (right) are hidden. The familiar buttons "Back", "Home" and "Menu" are displayed on the screen. The top edge of the device is occupied by a 3.5 mm audio jack and a dual tray for Nano-SIM and microSD cards, and the bottom is a micro-USB port. On the right side of the device there is a power button and a volume rocker, while the left one is completely free of connectors and ports.

The back of the Moto X Force is a non-removable panel. It houses two barely noticeable holes for additional microphones (top and bottom of the back cover) and a small oval island (made of plastic, but has a metal edging), where the main camera lens, two-section LED flash and the corporate logo are placed.

The build quality and rigidity of the Moto X Force smartphone do not cause even the slightest complaints. Everything is at the highest level, as such an eminent brand and its loyal fans deserve.

Display

The Moto X Force has a large 5.4-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a pixel density of 544 ppi, which is built on the basis of the proprietary Moto ShatterShield technology. It uses a special "sandwich" of five layers without an air gap: tempered and softer glass, dual sensor substrate, AMOLED matrix and aluminum base. All this as a result provides high impact resistance (glass does not crumble even in critical damage) and an excellent level of sensitivity and control. The main feature of the display is additional sensors placed along the contour of the front side, which record the state of the device and start displaying a clock or notification icons when you move your hand over the smartphone.

The unconditional advantages of the screen include the almost perfect contrast, excellent image detail and the widest viewing angles, and to the controversial points - a slightly oversaturated color reproduction with a rather noticeable green tint (most pronounced at a brightness of less than 70%), which, unfortunately, cannot be adjusted with the available BY.

As for the backlight, it is pleasantly pleasing with a good margin and the ability to adjust in automatic mode (the presence of a light sensor). It is quite comfortable to work with a smartphone on a bright day or in complete darkness. However, when exposed to direct sunlight, the information on the screen fades a little, which, most likely, is due to a rather massive protective layer.

Built-in touch pad supports up to 10 simultaneous clicks. It is distinguished by high sensitivity and instantly, and most importantly, it responds clearly to even the slightest touch. Support for additional control gestures, as well as the ability to work with gloves, is not.

Audio subsystem

Moto X Force is equipped with one multimedia speaker. It is placed on the front panel and placed under the display, which, on the one hand, practically excludes the possibility of accidental muffling, and on the other hand, it provides loud and fairly clear sounding in the entire available range. The speaker pleased with the even distribution of high and middle frequencies, as well as the presence of a rather pleasant bass.

In headphones from third-party manufacturers (in-ear Vivanco HS 200 WT and gaming), the sound also distinguished itself with good range and tangible depth. The gadget effortlessly worked out all available frequencies and provided the necessary volume margin.

Camera

Together with a memorable design and a large 5.4-inch AMOLED-screen, one of the main advantages of the reviewed smartphone can be safely called digital camera modules. With the declared technical characteristics, they are able to compete on a par with the leaders of the premium segment, and the quality of the footage will please even very demanding users.

So, the main camera of Moto X Force is a 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 module with phase detection autofocus, optical image stabilization and a two-section LED flash, while the front camera is represented by a 5-megapixel module with wide-angle optics, fixed focus and another LED flash. Both modules have a sufficiently sensitive f / 2.0 aperture and are capable of recording video at a maximum resolution of 4K Ultra HD and Full HD, respectively.

Photo and video materials obtained with their help are distinguished by excellent contrast, excellent detailing and rich color reproduction, which in some cases may seem even a little excessive. In addition, the user can choose from a fairly effective HDR mode, the popular Slow Motion (720p) and the previously mentioned 4K Ultra HD, which offers the highest picture quality.

The proprietary camera software has an extremely simple, but quite user-friendly interface. It will take some getting used to at first, but it will take a little time. The functionality is basic (you can specify the focus point by dragging and select the exposure level), which is sure to please beginners. Of the interesting things - the ability to start a fairly fast burst shooting by long pressing the screen (single touch - normal frame).

Custominterface

The high positioning of almost any modern device on the market forces the manufacturer to equip its brainchild with top-end software. Moto X Force is also no exception, since it almost immediately received an update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow from the moment of sales.

This operating system differs from the stock version only in a couple of redrawn icons and several pre-installed applications, the main of which can rightfully be considered the proprietary Moto utility. It allows you to turn on voice control with just a few taps (Russian and Ukrainian languages \u200b\u200bare not supported), activate smart gestures (shake your smartphone twice to turn on / off the front flash as a flashlight, or turn your palm twice to launch the camera menu), as well as adjust the order and time to display notifications on the lock screen to save battery power.

As for the performance, here the smartphone can give odds to most direct competitors. Thanks to the modern hardware platform, any daily activities in the OS environment are performed smoothly and clearly, without the slightest hint of jerks or hesitation.

Performance and communication capabilities

The Moto X Force smartphone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 8-core processor (model MSM8994), which is based on the 64-bit ARMv8-A microarchitecture in accordance with a 20nm process technology. It consists of 4 high-performance ARM Cortex-A57 cores @ 2.0 GHz and 4 energy efficient ARM Cortex-A53 cores @ 1.5 GHz. The CPU is supplemented by an integrated Qualcomm Adreno 430 graphics adapter with an operating frequency of 600 MHz and support for OpenGL ES 3.1, OpenVG 1.1 and DirectX 11. The amount of RAM is 3 GB, and the constant memory is 32 GB, of which about 21.84 GB is available. In addition, it can be significantly expanded with microSD memory cards with a record capacity of up to 2 TB.

As you can see from the test results, the reviewed model does not experience even the slightest problems with computing power. It can easily solve any everyday tasks, including in multitasking mode, as well as run almost all modern game projects at maximum graphics settings with a more than comfortable frame rate. Unfortunately, the reverse side of the coin of such an outstanding performance indicator is the noticeable heating of the case along the contour of the metal frame, which manifests itself after a long-term operation of the gadget under load.

Traditionally for flagship devices of recent years, the Moto X Force smartphone is equipped with a single-symbol radio module with support for Nano-SIM cards. It allows you to make phone calls using the 2G GSM standard and transfer data in 3G UMTS and 4G LTE mobile networks at speeds up to 300 Mbps.

There are no complaints about the radio module or the functioning of the speaker and microphones. Everything works clearly and harmoniously, accurately conveying the voice of the interlocutor and owner. But the vibrating alert is a bit weak, although it has a pleasant timbre. Therefore, being in the pocket of a down jacket or thick jacket, he may well go unnoticed.

In addition to supporting high-speed mobile networks, the reviewed smartphone is equipped with three popular wireless modules at once: NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac. The latter can also work in dual-channel mode (2.4 and 5 GHz) and boasts a rather useful MIMO function.

The search for Wi-Fi points and the subsequent connection to them is fast, and the established connection has good stability.

The built-in geolocation module easily recognizes the satellites of two navigation systems - GPS (A-GPS) and GLONASS. It has a high accuracy (up to 4 m) and a fairly good operating speed - the cold start takes no more than 15 seconds.

Autonomous work

The Moto X Force has a non-removable 3670 mAh lithium-ion battery, which can provide up to two days of uninterrupted operation of the device from a single charge in moderate use when performing everyday tasks.

So, while watching HD video (MPEG-4 / AVC, M4V container, 4 Mbps stream), the smartphone was completely discharged in 13 hours 13 minutes, and when starting the game simulation (Asphalt 8: Airborne) - in 4 hours 39 minutes ...

The estimated battery life according to the PCMark benchmark was 8 hours 44 minutes, and according to the Geekbench 3 battery test - 6 hours 34 minutes, while the GFXBench benchmark gave a result of 272 minutes. In all modes except the gaming mode, the display brightness was set to 50%, and the Wi-Fi and GPS wireless modules were turned on.

To fully restore the original condition of a battery of this size, on average, you need to spend about 3 hours, including using wireless charging according to the Qi standard. However, thanks to the support of the proprietary TurboPower technology and the complete charger, the user can significantly reduce this figure up to 1.5 hours.

Outcome

Summing up the final results of this testing, we can happily state an unconditional fact - the return of the legend took place! Lenovo has managed to bring back to life an eminent brand, in the revival of which even the most loyal fans despaired of believing.

Smartphone MotoXForce turned out to be exactly what a real flagship should be - stylish, powerful and uncompromising. It almost perfectly combines high-tech design, a powerful hardware platform and a whole heap of proprietary developments. That only is a monolithic aluminum body with inserts of ballistic nylon and a unique 5.4-inch AMOLED-screen based on Moto ShatterShield technology, which is not afraid to get hit. This also includes the main 21-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and a two-section LED flash, almost all available wireless communication modules and a capacious 3670 mAh lithium-ion battery with support for wireless charging and a quick recovery function via TurboPower technology. And finally, do not forget about the so-called "icing on the cake" - the current operating system Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, which allows you to most effectively and comfortably manage all the above features.

Of course, not without minor flaws. Also, few people will be pleased with the price, which in our market conditions will hurt the pocket of almost any potential buyer. However, this in no way diminishes the merits of the monitored device. Smartphone Moto X Force can be safely recommended to all fans of the brand, experienced "gadget makers" and simply connoisseurs of exclusive things. At the end of the day, it’s worth buying, if only for the sake of other companies like Lenovo seeing genuine interest from users and also taking the path that gives legends like Motorola a second chance.

The Motorola Moto X Force is a large smartphone with a 5.4-inch screen and a rough design that looks like some kind of industrial device, not a flagship phone.

As for the dimensions, they are as follows - 149.8 × 78 × 9.5. These are some kind of boundary values \u200b\u200b- the device still sits well in the palm of your hand, but it is already inconvenient to operate it with one hand. There are almost no phones with exactly the same diagonal, it is still more compact than most 5.5-inch devices, such as the Honor 5X or Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, but noticeably thicker. The Moto X Force weighs 170 grams, which is quite a lot, comparable to the large Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL.

Outwardly, the smartphone is rude, this is clearly not a female option. Although at the same time it is stylish and, importantly, recognizable - the Moto X Force looks like some kind of massive, but at the same time reliable industrial device. The front of the phone is not very noticeable in appearance - rounded corners, slightly convex top and bottom edges. The only thing that attracts attention is the flash for the front camera and a pair of speakers below (one of them is not a speaker at all, but just a microphone). There are no separate control buttons, they are located on the screen itself. Side bezels are average in thickness, the ratio of the display area to the surface of the device is about 70%. The most remarkable thing about the bezel is not the look, but the unbreakable, unbreakable ShatterShield safety glass. Although it breaks, it does not break, but it is easily covered with scratches. In addition, the decorative insert above the screen, dangling from touch, also does not inspire much confidence. The side faces are made of metal, casting a dark purple glow in the sun, with their angular shapes they give the smartphone a massive appearance. The back panel is perhaps the most interesting part of the Moto X Force. It is made of so-called ballistic nylon, framed by strips of metal. In fact, this material is a durable fiber that is used in military equipment. In terms of tactile sensations, nylon is similar to textured fabric, it is not easy to damage or scratch it, it holds well in the hand, is elastic and durable. At the same time, it is very easy to stain it - if some kind of dust, dirt or liquid gets clogged between the fibers of this wonderful material, then it will be serious and for a long time. The nylon back is only interrupted at the top of the body to make room for Motorola's signature oval insert that houses the camera lens, flash and circular logo that looks like a fingerprint reader. By the way, this scanner would not interfere with this flagship model at all. It's even strange that Moto X Force does not have it, while both top competitors and many mid-price smartphones are already equipped with it.

The Motorola Moto X Force case is not demountable, the build quality is high. The phone has also received protection from accidental splashes and drops thanks to its water-repellent nano-coating. But this does not mean that it can be immersed in water. And in general, its "security" still raises a number of questions - it is still not shock-resistant and not water-resistant, like, for example, Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, and although the glass does not break, it also easily collects scratches.

The Motorola Moto X Force is only available in one color - black.

Screen - 4.3

The Motorola Moto X Force is equipped with a high-quality 5.4-inch AMOLED display of the highest resolution. True, it cannot be called ideal, for complete happiness there is not enough brightness a little higher and a mode of operation with gloves.

The screen received an unnecessarily high resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. In our opinion, this is a bit overkill, even the 5.5-inch is bypassed with a Full HD display, and no one has complained about the fuzzy picture yet. The pixel density (ppi) is impressive - 544 per inch, it is a pity that there is little sense from this, some irregularities can only be noticed when armed with a magnifying glass. As we said above, one of the features of the screen is the ShatterShield safety glass.

The brightness range was not very wide - from 5 to 337 cd / m2. In the dark, the display will definitely not blind your eyes. The maximum brightness doesn't look all that high, but that's typical of an AMOLED display. At the same time, it is not typical that the viewing angles are atthe same than the average for this type of display. In the sun, the screen is readable with little difficulty, and when you shoot on the street with a camera, the visibility becomes even worse. If you turn off the display and look at it at an angle in the sun, you will see an unsightly picture altogether - as if engine oil has been spilled on the screen. Perhaps all this is due to the protective glass, which is made up of several layers. The color gamut of the screen is much wider than the standard sRGB, rather it tends to cover the broader Adobe RGB standard. On average, the color reproduction can be called accurate, but the unnatural red color spoils everything, and in general, many colors look too saturated. The contrast of the image tends to infinity, and the color temperature is equal to the reference 6500 degrees. The only pity is that there are no image settings and the mode of operation with gloves.

Cameras - 4.7

The Motorola Moto X Force smartphone is equipped with cool 21 and 5 MP cameras. They can be called top-end, but they are still slightly inferior to many flagship competitors.

The main camera received not only many megapixels, but also a fairly large Sony IMX230 sensor with a diagonal of 1 / 2.4 ″. Although in the same Huawei Nexus 6P it is slightly larger, 1 / 2.3 ″. In addition, the Moto X Force arsenal has a dual LED flash, a fairly wide F2.0 aperture and phase focusing. The only thing missing for a complete set is optical image stabilization.

The camera interface is rather unusual, but almost the same as in the rest of the company's phones, we described it in more detail in the review. The main features of the control - shooting takes place by "tap" on the display, focus and exposure are adjusted by moving a special circle on the screen. The settings can be accessed by "swipe" from left to right. The settings are not great, only the Auto HDR mode can be noted, which decides whether to turn on or not, and, as a rule, it does it correctly. It's strange that the flagship camera, in fact, does not have any deeper settings, the same manual mode. As if it's not Android, but iPhone 6 Plus. However, not everyone needs all these modes, filters or some other tinsel. Most importantly, the camera does a good job of shooting. She does it especially well during the day, not inferior in quality to other star flagships. Daylight photos taken with the Moto X Force are quite comparable to those taken with the camera. The high resolution and large sensor allow for a large amount of detail in the frame. Focusing is quick and clear, the exposure is automatically set correctly, the dynamic range (even without Auto HDR) is better than average. Colors tend to come out natural, but often look wildly oversaturated on a phone screen, especially green tones. But don't worry, this is more of a color rendering feature on the AMOLED display. If you view the same frames on the monitor, then all this “wildness” disappears. What we didn’t like about the camera was shooting in low light, it does a lot worse at night than many competitors. Panoramas also disappointed us a little - the level of detail is low. For some reason, Moto X Force saves on resolution - the height of the captured frames does not exceed 1000 pixels, which is not enough. Because of this, the panorama looks more like one oblong photo with a not very high resolution, and not like several high resolution photos stitched together.

The phone can be praised for shooting video - the Moto X Force's arsenal has 4K resolution, slow motion (1280 × 720 pixels, 120 frames per second) and tracking autofocus. The 5MP front camera is equipped with flash and HDR mode. It does a good job of taking selfies even indoors and allows you to adjust the exposure yourself. She doesn't have any built-in filters for decoration, but, to be honest, she didn't really want to. The front camera can shoot video in Full HD, as well as slow-motion in HD resolution.

Working with text - 4.0

The Moto X Force runs bare-metal Android 6, which uses a standard Google keyboard. Most likely, you have already used it - it supports Swype (continuous input) and switching between languages \u200b\u200busing a separate key. There are no additional symbols on the icons, only for quick dialing of numbers.

Internet - 3.0

Since we are talking, in fact, about the "naked" Android, then of the browsers on the Moto X Force there is only one Google Chrome. The smartphone works quietly with several open tabs at once. Of the interesting functions in the browser, there is the ability to synchronize tabs and history with the desktop version, incognito mode, the ability to open the full version of the page and scaling the text with a double click to a preselected size. If you don't like Chrome or are used to something else, then nothing prevents you from installing the desired browser from the Play Market.

Communications - 5.0

The Motorola Moto X Force has a flagship communications suite, but you might not like the support for only one SIM card. The rest of the list is good:

  • Fast & Dual Band Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac
  • Energy efficient Bluetooth 4.1 with A2DP profile
  • Fast LTE Cat. 6, (up to 300/50 Mbps)
  • A-GPS with GLONASS support
  • NFC chip.

Many will not like the lack of FM radio and support for just one NanoSIM card. A standard Micro USB 2.0 connector is used for charging and connecting to a PC. It supports USB OTG, so you can connect various peripheral devices to your smartphone via cable. Separately, we note the complete key for the SIM card slot - usually it is small and thin, but here it is large, convenient and looks reliable.

Multimedia - 2.8

The Moto X Force does not boast support for a wide range of multimedia formats, but it has excellent sound quality.

So, it plays, for example, FLAC, but cannot handle audio in AC-3. From the video, he doesn't want to play RMVB, TS, FLV, MOV and some AVI files. Only the standard Google Play Music audio player is preinstalled on the Moto X Force, with a rather obscure interface. This is not just a player, but a full-fledged music service, however, you will have to pay for its full functionality. Well, at least the free version has a built-in equalizer with sound frequency tuning. Initially, there is no separate video player, he can simply play the video and pause it, even a simple rewind to the right moment of the film is difficult for him.

Battery - 4.9

The autonomy of Motorola Moto X Force turned out to be very high, and this despite the huge display resolution and high performance. The phone was enough for us for one and a half, sometimes two days of use. A smartphone can be enough for more, if you do not play, turn on the power saving mode and turn off branded chips that constantly consume energy.

The Moto X Force has a good 3,760mAh battery, but is that enough for an ultra-sharp screen and top-end chipset? It turned out that yes. Thus, the smartphone was enough for 12 hours of HD-video viewing (maximum brightness and Airplane mode), which is very close to record holders such as Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Philips W6610. What's the secret? The screen is very sharp, but not the brightest, and it is also AMOLED, which means that it is quite economical. True, this also means that the result will greatly depend on what exactly you will watch on the screen - bright color videos or black and white films. In case of a low load, the smartphone also holds a charge well - 138 hours in a music marathon (with headphones), which is longer than that of the Sony Xperia Z3 or iPhone 6s. The GeekBench Battery Test took about 16% of the charge for an hour, the result is better than average. The camera also does not drain the battery very quickly - about 6% for shooting a 10 minute Full HD video. But in games Moto X Force no longer breaks any records, in them the smartphone is enough for 4.5 hours.

Interestingly, the manufacturer put a TurboPower charger in the box, which fully charges the phone in an hour and a half (as promised on the manufacturer's website) - an excellent result for a battery of such a large capacity.

Performance - 4.2

Motorola Moto X Force is equipped with a top-end, but already last year's chipset and 3 GB of RAM, which is enough for fast work and solving all smartphone tasks. In terms of performance, the device is comparable to the 2015 Android flagships.

Motorola Moto X Force received an eight-core Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 processor (four cores up to 1.55 GHz and four cores up to 2.0 GHz). It is notorious for overheating, but in this case, a revised version of it is used, which does not heat up that much.

In daily use, the Moto X Force works quickly and without problems, after all, it has top-end performance and "bare" Android without any fancy interfaces. Any heavy games and applications simply "fly" on it. We checked if the phone heats up while working - it turned out that yes, but not very much. After half an hour of gaming, the back heats up to 42.4 degrees (about the same as the Huawei P9 Lite, but much more than the Huawei Nexus 6P). This is felt by the hands as excessive warmth and noticeably affects, for example, the benchmark results. But many smartphones got much hotter (for example, Sony Xperia Z3 + or HTC One M9).

If we talk about the benchmark results, they turned out to be high, typically flagship:

  • GeekBench 3 - 4505 points (received 4413)
  • AnTuTu 6.0 - 73631 (noticeably inferior to Huawei Nexus 6P, apparently, it manages to heat up during the test)
  • 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited - up to 26394 (almost a third higher than the Samsung Galaxy Note 4), but if you repeat the test a couple of times, the result drops by the same third, to the level of the LG G4.

Memory - 5.0

The built-in memory of the Moto X Force is 32 or 64 GB. In the younger version, you will have 24 GB available. Typical figures for the flagship model, but if you plan to actively download applications and shoot 4K video, then a memory card slot will come in handy (MicroSD cards up to 2 TB are supported).

Features:

Motorola Moto X Force - runs on "bare" Android 6.0 with a small set of proprietary chips for control. The main feature of the phone is shatterproof glass, metal frames, a "ballistic nylon" back and protection of the device from splashes. That is, it is an almost completely rugged smartphone with top-end features. In addition, we note the high autonomy of the phone, support for only one SIM-card and a non-separable body. The Moto X Force does not have some kind of proprietary interface, but it supports a number of unusual features such as turning on the camera or flashlight using hand movements with the phone. Another interesting feature is the "active display" function - with the help of motion sensors the device understands when you pick it up and offers to unlock it from the screen.

At the end of 2015, the American market was replenished with the flagship model Droid Turbo 2. It was designed to reincarnate the once top brand Motorola. Traditionally for the States, the device was tied to the operator Verizon. However, the new boss, Lenovo, went further and introduced the Moto X Force, a smartphone for all markets. What is the highlight of this solution, we will now figure it out.

Appearance and equipment Motorola Moto X Force

The manufacturer, contrary to popular belief, does not position its offspring as a protected device. The only thing is that at the factory the smartphone is treated with a special liquid that makes the case waterproof. Thus, compliance with the IP52 standard is declared, which allows it to be wetted, but not immersed in water. At the same time, the Moto X Force is equipped with a Moto ShatterShield display, which theoretically does not beat under any conditions. Lenovo gives it a 4-year warranty. As shown by crash tests, the screen really can withstand several drops on a concrete surface, however, the body bends, but the smartphone itself continues to work.

The latter here has a metal frame and is made of aluminum. That is why the weight of the device does not exceed 169 g, with dimensions:

  • Width - 78 mm;
  • Height - 149.8 mm;
  • Thickness - 9.20 mm.
These are quite normal indicators for this kind of device. If we talk about the form factor, then we have a 5.4-inch candy bar with rounded edges and fairly thick frames around the screen. The main camera is recessed into the body, which means you don't have to be smart with a case and an additional protective glass for the lens. The function keys on the right side are small, but work well and do not rattle. In general, the build quality is at a high level, although it would be difficult to expect anything else for this price tag.

The SIM-card tray is located in an unusual way - next to the 3.5-mm "jack" on the bottom edge of the case. Moreover, there is only one SIM card, but it is adjacent to a slot for a memory card. The back cover is non-removable and is one piece with the battery. By the way, it is made of "ballistic nylon", which a priori cannot be shuffled. But there are problems with the front panel. The fact is that she likes to accumulate dust above and below the decorative insert near the earpiece. The speaker with a microphone was not spared either. Moisture resistance you say? Oh well. As for the "fighting color", here you can choose one single color - black. However, before us is a male device with all that it implies.

The delivery set of the device includes:

  • Smartphone.
  • TurboPower charger.
  • USB cable.
  • A clip for removing the SIM card tray.
  • Headset (wired).
  • Manual.

Motorola Moto X Force screen

Let's start with the performance characteristics:
  • Maximum level of rage at 330 cd / m2;
  • Color gamut (sRGB) over one hundred percent;
  • Delta E - 1.6;
  • The gamma is 2.3;
  • Color temperature - 6800K.
This is not to say that these are outstanding characteristics for a capacitive AMOLED screen. Moreover, he is made by Samsung, which produce higher quality displays for themselves, but here they are clearly cheating. However, QHD resolution is present, but the manufacturing technology deserves special attention. Multi-layer protection is implemented here, where the first layer is two durable plastic panels, then there are two sensor substrates, then a touch sensitive "soft" OLED matrix, indifferent to shocks. Completing the picture is an aluminum backing that covers the iron. Yes, it is difficult to break this "Big Mac", but it is easy to scratch, since the manufacturer did not provide for tempered glass, so you have to glue a protective film or a Chinese analogue of a "gorilla" to the pile. Needless to say, such a "pie" does not have the best effect on color rendering. In addition, the multi-layer display increases the thickness of the case by at least a millimeter.

The viewing angles are good, but the screen is hopeless in the sun and glares mercilessly. You get the feeling that you are looking deeply and somewhere at the bottom of the system interface. For the sake of fairness, it should be noted that the effect is not noticeable indoors, but over time you start to look closely.

Motorola Moto X Force - Firmware Review

Initially, the smartphone was delivered “out of the box” with pre-installed Android 5.1, but migrated to Russia with the sixth edition of the OS. Moreover, this is not bare firmware, not pathetic attempts to create something of your own, and then forget to update, but a balanced operating system, slightly doped by developers, but not devoid of its own chips. So, a proprietary option has been implemented that displays all the necessary information on the locked screen. The device reacts sensitively to movements and changes in lighting, in order to show the current time or notification of arrival at the destination at the right time. Interestingly, this has little effect on autonomy.
  1. coveted for owners of "clean" Android 6.0 reset button;
  2. contextual computing;
  3. additional processors that control sensors and cameras while the smartphone is sleeping;
  4. proprietary Active Display option.

Motorola Moto X Force filling

The device operates under the control of the very "brazier" in the person of Snapdragon 810, which received four ARM Cortex-A57 cores with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores, 1.5 GHz. On paper, everything is fine, but in practice, in multitasking mode, the device starts to overheat, and frequencies drop. To be fair, we note that the Moto X Force case cannot be called hot even under overload, which is helped to a certain extent by the aluminum and the thickness of the case. However, in fact, we get a Snapdragon 652 with good optimization for games, since the Adreno 430 GPU and 3 GB LPDDR4 RAM are also present.

The Motorola Moto X Force 64gb version can be enough for the average user if you don't need to store a lot of files. At the same time, the internal memory can be expanded up to 2 TB using microSD cards at the price of an aircraft. True, it's hard to believe it. In any case, the card will take a long time to think, but the same 256 GB are easily swallowed by the gadget. If you neglect the memory expansion, then in the case of, for example, Motorola Moto X Force 32gb, you will get 21 gigabytes of usable space with a penny. The rest will be occupied by the operating system and software. However, nobody canceled root-rights. By the way, the device supports OTS-connection, even a mouse works, which is a little bit surprising.

Motorola Moto X Force test

The model cannot be called weak, although it does not take the first places in synthetic tests, after all, it is 2017. But it can quite compete with HiSilicon Kirin 935, MediaTek MT6795 and Exynos 7420. Thus, in AnTuTu the device is gaining 85652 "parrots". Browser and graphical tests also gave average scores. There were no problems with Full-HD video playback. At the same time, the smartphone heated up slightly above and to the left of the center of the case, that is, where the processor is located. The maximum temperature was 48 degrees, the minimum - 24 degrees. This is tolerable, given the fact that under load, the average gadget heats up to 35 degrees.

In any case, you have to come to terms with the thought - you are buying a device for the "here and now", since new SoCs are entering the arena, and the games are slowly but surely approaching their desktop counterparts. 2017 for Moto X Force will pass without losses, but the next one is still in question. Thus, the reserve for the future is not.

Communication and communications Motorola Moto X Force

The smartphone is optimized for Russian networks, it can work in 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA, as well as LTE Cat6 FDD and TDD, that is, theoretically, it can be accelerated to 300 Mbps. There are no questions about the quality of signal reception. The device feels confident both indoors and with a weak signal somewhere in the backyard. Thus, the following frequencies are supported:
  • LTE FDD: Band 1-5-28; TDD Band 40;
  • WCDMA: 850-2100 MHz;
  • GSM: 850-1900 MHz.
Also provided:
  • Bluetooth 4.1 with feedback;
  • NFC module;
  • two Wi-Fi bands;
  • the same number of MIMO antennas.
In addition, there is Wi-Fi Direct, and therefore the device can act as an access point. From the connectors - second generation microUSB. Not the age for the third generation. Geotag beats off by GPS with mobile A-GPS correction, GLONASS is provided for masochists. Be that as it may, with a cold start, satellites are detected quickly. In addition, there is a magnetic sensor that can be used as a compass.

The regular dialer differs from the system one and supports a quick Smart Dial search. The keyboard is also non-standard, but comfortable, there is continuous input. It is a pity that the developer did not foresee the scaling of the interface.

Motorola Moto X Force cameras

The smartphone is equipped with:
  1. 21MP main camera Sony IMX230 with f / 2.0 aperture and LED flash.
  2. 5 megapixel front camera with f / 2.0 aperture and LED flash.
As practice has shown, the software part of the cameras is poorly implemented. Even switching to the front sensor using a hand movement does not help the situation. The controls react badly to tapas, and the interface itself is slipshod, which is unforgivable for a flagship. In this case, it is better to focus manually, since the automatic mode is obviously lazy. In addition, the exposure is combined with autofocus, which imposes considerable inconvenience.

Photography is up to the mark, but for obvious reasons, its quality does not reach the level of modern top smartphones. The camcorder supports 4K, there is slomode, that is, slow motion. There is no optical stabilization as such, but when moving, the video is recorded smoothly. The sharpness is especially pleasing. There are those who scold the camera, but here, as they say, the taste and color. If you've tried the iPhone 7 optics, then of course the Moto X Force isn't the best option. Anyway, the detail is good.

The front camera for selfies is not the best option, except that Skype will love it, but it will save traffic, but a flash is implemented, which helps out great in certain situations.

Motorola Moto X Force Sound

Before the release of the device, there were rumors of five speakers. The expectations did not come true. The device received one music speaker and two microphones, including noise canceling ones. The sound is loud and clear, with a small amount of mids and lows. At the maximum, the sound begins to choke, and the speaker wheezes. Although the manufacturer does not position its offspring as an external audio speaker. For a ringtone, it is enough, and the recorder catches even distant conversations and records cleanly.

But in the headphones, the picture radically changes not without the help of the high-quality audio section of the Snapdragon 810 and the 10-band equalizer with presets. Thus, the solution is second only to devices with a separate DAC, it is enough for a music lover, but not enough for an audiophile.

Motorola Moto X Force: battery life characteristics

The autonomy of the device pleases, despite the fact that there is a powerful processor and a large AMOLED screen, which are provided by a 3760 mAh battery. The charge is enough for a couple of days of mixed mode operation without any problems.
  • Video from a memory card for 13 hours;
  • Games up to five hours;
  • Reading - 7 hours.
The device supports fast charging and comes with a compact TurboPower charger, which actually charges up to hundreds in an hour and 15 minutes. True, the memory is heated not weakly. Nobody said that it would be easy, since this does not affect the performance of the adapter in any way. That is why the manufacturer did not provide a removable USB cable, so that the third-party simply does not melt. If you manage to lose your charge, then it will be difficult to find it in retail, and it costs a lot. It is recommended to use a standard memory too, so as not to destroy the battery, but the speed of replenishing the capacity will be appropriate.

Pros and cons of Motorola Moto X Force

Motorola fans expected the Moto X Force to fall in price, but a miracle did not happen, but it should have happened, because interesting analogs have long appeared on the market, which can do more and cost less. Be that as it may, the device still remains a device for fans of the brand, designed to surprise others, they say, Motorola is still wow, and what if the Chinese bought it. At the same time, it is not only the price that saddens, but also the camera, the lack of which could be corrected by software, which for some reason the developers did not do.

Pros of the device:

  • Unbreakable screen.
  • Balanced iron.
  • Large memory support.
  • Sophisticated firmware.
  • Capacious battery.
  • Really fast charging.
  • 21 megapixel camera.
Among the minuses, we note:
  • No tempered glass.
  • Disgusting Camera app.
  • Large-width frames around the screen.
  • Hot Snapdragon 810.
  • Price.

Motorola Moto X Force: price and video review

The model can really surprise, one multilayer screen is worth something. And the device looks brutal and memorable. His place is on the torpedo of a jeep or next to a vertical gun, although there are no special protective qualities other than the screen. In other words, we have before us an unusual smartphone for those who want to stand out and least of all think about the filling, although to call it budget - the language does not turn.

The price of Motorola Moto X Force in Russia is 40,000-50,000 rubles, depending on the size of the drive. Check out the video review and crash test below:

But let's put aside talk about nostalgia and get straight to the point. If only simply because Motorola is no longer there, but there is Moto - the new line of Lenovo smartphones. In short, Vibe is simpler and cheaper, and Moto is more original and for those who are richer.

Is the truth not beating?

I'll be honest: I didn't hit X Force on asphalt and bricks. But several times, contrary to the rules of testing, it was as if the gadget accidentally dropped. Unexpected meetings with carpet, laminate and even tiles for the phone passed without consequences. The audience of the performance gave a picturesque groan and opened their mouths in amazement. Employees of the Russian representative office of Lenovo went even further - at the X Force presentation, they threw them on a very hard stone block, and before that they even pricked nuts with a smartphone.

The secret lies in Moto ShatterShield technology. The display is like a sandwich: the bottom is an aluminum substrate, on it is a flexible OLED panel with a double touch layer, and on top there are two protective panels. To the touch, by the way, there are no differences from the usual protective glass.

The display is very sturdy indeed, but don't expect scratch protection. As well as the protection of the case from mechanical damage - it is not declared.

Explore Moto X Force in detail

That is, the harder the floor, the worse the Moto X Force aluminum frame - it can both scratch and deform from strong impacts. There is a large nylon insert on the back of the gadget - it looks beautiful, but if you drip jam or something on it, then trouble will happen. The liquid will be absorbed, and an ugly stain will remain on the pattern. Removing and washing will not work - the case is monolithic.

The Moto X Force modification with two SIM cards did not reach Russia, so we are content with one card for communication and a slot for microSD.

An error occurred during download.

And what about the picture on such a display?

The Moto X Force's screen is expensive not only because of the unprecedented protection measures, but also because of the pOLED matrix with a huge resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. In addition to impressive detail, it has many other advantages. Take high contrast, consistently bright images from any angle, and deep blacks. They also use less power than LCD IPS panels. A random sunny day hinted that working with the X Force outdoors in summer would be comfortable - there is little glare, the picture is readable. With the transfer of colors, too, order, nothing "yellow" or "blue", everything is within the normal range.

Lovers of vibrant colors and maximum detail will love the Moto X Force's display. To tell the truth, I haven’t met people at all who didn’t like him.

Is the flagship powerful?

Quite! Inside the Moto X Force, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor is typical for the flagships of the fall-winter 2015-2016 season. It has four cores operating at 1.5 GHz, and the same number at 2.3 GHz. Plus 3 gigabytes of RAM. Surely it could have been more, but why, if the smartphone can handle absolutely any task with ease? He is not bothered by a dozen simultaneously running applications, not a bunch of tabs in the browser, or the most gluttonous games from the Android Market at maximum graphics settings. And this power reserve will definitely be enough for at least a year and a half in advance.

Don't worry about performance: Moto X Force is fully charged and handles all tasks without glitches.

The built-in memory is limited to 32 GB, of which 24 GB are available to the user. More than enough for games and other programs, and everything else can be written to a memory card. Here the maximum limit on the volume reaches a fantastic 2 TB, but such drives are not even released yet.

In the AnTuTu 6 benchmark, the Moto X Force even managed to get into the Top 5, but this is a temporary matter. Very soon, the novelties of the MWC 2016 exhibition will redraw the podium.

Fresh Android 6.0 arrived on the Moto X Force test almost immediately. How exactly in this regard will things be with the devices with the coveted Rostest badges is still difficult to say, but the flagship is still not worth it to go without the “six”. In general, we are waiting for the official start of sales on March 1. There is a dual-band Wi-Fi with support for ac standard, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC. And don't worry about working in Russian LTE networks: the main thing is to buy the official and certified Moto X Force for the Russian market, and not its American version called Droid Turbo 2 from dealers.

Is it shooting well?

Quite, but the Moto X Force still falls short of the level of LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy S6. The camera starts up quickly, and phase detection autofocus allows you to quickly (though not always accurately) focus. Automation works perfectly - there were no misses with the white balance even when shooting difficult night scenes, except that the exposure sometimes had to be slightly reduced manually. Photo resolution - 21 Mp. The front camera, alas, is weak - only 5 megapixels.

But the interface of the Camera application made me suffer. By default, the smartphone prompts you to poke your finger at the place where you want to focus, and a photo is immediately taken. But any such tap leads to the inevitable shift of the device in the hands. Since there is no optical stabilization here, the pictures are often a little blurry. An alternative is to drag the "sight" across the screen with your finger, and instead of the shutter button, use the black box on the right.
