MTS Sprint, a notch higher. MTS Smart Sprint review and description of the way to unlock MTS smart spirit

Another operator's budget smartphone, but with a 4.5-inch screen and a decent resolution of 960 x 540. Another step in the right direction. With such a device, not only the one who buys the first smartphone in his life can already peacefully coexist.

We perfectly understand all the advantages of top models with their high-resolution screens, excellent cameras and powerful processors. But in terms of the total number of "phone owners" there are relatively few such enthusiasts. Most people buy a smartphone by comparing the price tag with the filling of their own wallet. And they take the cheapest, it is not in vain that the penny "dialers" continue to enjoy considerable popularity. Smartphone for 3,500 rubles. You can't call it "penny", but MTS Sprint seems to me a reasonable compromise. And not even a compromise, but quite a decent device.

Dots above "i"

MTS SMART Sprint, manufacturer Fukda Telecom Group (China). The price of the device is 3 490 rubles. One SIM card, miniSIM format (regular). Operating system Android KitKat 4.4.2. Processor - dual-core MTK 6572, 1.3 GHz. 4 GB built-in memory, 512 MB RAM. Slot for microSD up to 32 GB. 4.5-inch IPS screen, 540 x 960 resolution, 240 ppi pixel density. Battery 1 800 mAh.

Support for 2G / 3G (no LTE), 3G 900/2 100 MHz bands. 5 MP main camera with autofocus, 0.3 MP front camera. Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, FM-radio is available, only through an external antenna (headphones / headset).

SIM-lock is installed, and the smartphone works only in the MTS network. Of the additional shells and other "moderators" of work - only Celltick Start (starting shell). Light and proximity sensors, auto brightness control is. Weight - 142 g, plastic, standard design, color options - black and white.

Where do legs grow from?

We, of course, are grateful to the operators for their efforts to supply the mobile population with good smartphones at affordable prices. But the interest is mutual. New trends in Russia were formed approximately with the appearance of the iPhone 3GS on the market, then I would consider the beginning of the promotion of another business model with an emphasis on smartphones and data transmission. The great Steve Jobs not only "invented" the iPhone, he revolutionized the entire cellular industry, forcing operators to play by new rules. In the pre-iPhone era, mobile internet existed as an add-on service that operators struggled to monetize and did not always do ethically. Any clever content, WAP with its insane prices, unannounced collusion between Nokia and cell phones (smartphones jumped to the default Wap-APN at every opportunity), etc., can be recalled and recited for a long time. To a large extent, it looked like partisanism and an outright gop-stop: I caught a subscriber and snatched money from him “for air” - life was a success.

Apple smartphones have solved the issue of monetization in a fundamentally different way. No Wap, just honest internet. But this Internet is a lot and often, iPhones literally live on the net. To a certain extent, the client was “twisted” his hands; without Internet access, the smartphone lost a significant part of its functionality. The user is forced to buy an Internet package, which the operator is happy to sell to him. Exactly the same with Android smartphones, the scheme is almost identical. And now we are already seeing a movement towards smartphone + Data package, minutes and SMS as a bonus. The advantage for the operator is a guaranteed subscription fee from each user of a smart device, this is important. Therefore, subsidizing smartphones and tablets, cheap branded devices and all sorts of promotions. Look, MTS even decided to completely abandon the sale of simple phones in their stores, only smartphones. Because the sale of the phone brings profit once, and the sold smartphone feeds the operator for many months.

On the other hand, you and I are not bad either. We want all the delights of the mobile Internet and get them for relatively little money. Voting with the ruble for the operator who turned out to be more agile and put a “tasty treat” on the showcase for reasonable money before his colleagues. Let's consider it a "lyrical digression" and move on to the actual review of the device.

Positioning

Price RUB 3,490 does not quite fit into our ideas about a budget device, but the Smart Sprint itself is not quite budget. Today it is the category of "top public sector employee", so to speak. A natural process of the development of a range of cheap devices.

In the October issue of the MTS World of Communications magazine, it was no coincidence that Smart Sprint found itself next to the operator's smartphone of the previous generation MTS 982. In theory, now smartphones with screens of 4 inches with a resolution of 480 x 800 should move into the category of mid-budget, smartphones with 3.5 inches resolution 320 x 480 are becoming entry-level devices with the prospect of imminent disappearance, and 240 x 320 resolution can be forgotten like a bad dream.

Smart Sprint's target audience is vast. Starting from schoolchildren and ending with those who want to get sufficient functionality plus visual comfort for minimal money. RUB 3,490 It may seem (and it seems to me) a little expensive for a device with such characteristics, but the price tag was recently agreed upon, when the dollar was already worth the far from familiar 30-something rubles. The smartphone will not handle "heavy" modern games, to satisfy other requests it will fit without any special claims to performance.

Package and design

In the "product set" is sparse: the smartphone itself, charger, connecting cable, User manual, warranty card. I continue to grumble about the lack of even the most lousy headset in the kit. The formal reason to find fault is FM radio. Which is in the advertisement (a list of the main parameters on the box), but it is impossible to use it without a headset or headphones, since there is no built-in antenna in the phone.

The adapter surprised with an output current of 0.8 A. It is clear that there is something on the farm for 1.5-2 A, but I have not yet come across the figure 0.8. The battery 1 800 mAh from this "native" adapter is charged for four hours. The battery itself pleased, for a full day of very active use it is enough with a margin.

There are no memory cards (up to 32 GB supported) either, but that's okay. Some people have enough built-in memory, but those who do not have enough will buy a bigger card. There is still no hope for anything more than 4 GB in the kit.

The size of the smartphone does not scare and lies well in the hand. Compared to a smartphone with a 4-inch screen, our Smart Sprint is longer, but even less than the "extra" half-inch of the screen. Smart Sprint has barely increased in width due to the smaller width of the stripes at the edges of the screen.

Design of the category "none", perhaps, the sharpness of the lower part to make it easier to put the smartphone in your pocket. I personally consider the absence of "chrome" buttons and stripes "under chrome" a plus, there is no need for such decorations on a budget device. The back is matte plastic, almost soft touch to the touch. Fingerprints are visible, but the tactile back cover is more pleasant than the rustling plastic with notches under the fingers. The MTS logo is present in a modest size and does not strike the eye too much.

Design

Traditional layout, no less traditional placement of elements. Here rationality is at the forefront, and we are unlikely to see anything radically new.

Perhaps the mysterious chrome "washer" next to the LED flash. Suggestions were made about the vibration motor, but it turned out not. Intrigue! Otherwise, everything is familiar and compact, it's good that we have carved out a place for a decent 1800 mAh battery.

There is only one SIM card, a slot for microSD (supports cards up to 32 GB), the main camera's eye protrudes beyond the dimensions of the case. The microUSB jack is on the upper edge, there is also a 3.5 mm jack for a headset or headphones.

The microphone is strongly shifted to the right, but the hole on the front panel will not be blocked by the palm during a call in any case. Three control buttons are drawn brightly, but button illumination is not provided at all, this is a minus. A separate multimedia speaker (one) is present at the bottom behind, the sound is expectedly unimportant.

The power button and the volume rocker are located side by side on the right side. The move is clear, the buttons protrude just as much as necessary, and are easy to grope, no complaints. The assembly is also in order, without gaps and backlashes.

There is no LED indicator of events in the device. There is a vibration indication, the vibration power is average and you may not feel it in the pocket of your outerwear.

Display

As I wrote at the beginning of the review, the IPS screen is 4.5 inches, the resolution is 540 x 960, the pixel density is 240 ppi. For a smartphone, this density is normal, there is no "blur" of fonts and thin lines. Although I managed to get used to the higher resolution, I consider 540 x 960 for a 4.5-inch screen to be quite an acceptable indicator.

The IPS matrix is \u200b\u200bpractically insensitive to rotation angles, which is its great advantage. Colors are almost not distorted or inverted at the most extreme tilts both vertically and horizontally.

Some "cyanosis" is present, see the screenshot on the camera above. Almost pure white appears only at the maximum brightness level. Probably, this is an ineradicable feature of inexpensive displays, and only a color temperature regulator can cope with this. Which is not yet provided in standard Android.

The brightness adjustment range is wide, the margin is sufficient, and in the sun (we managed to catch it in November) there are no problems. The lower border is also sufficient, and the display is comfortable to read even in complete darkness. There is a light sensor, and auto-adjusting the brightness works correctly in different conditions. Not quite smoothly (jerks are noticeable to the eye), but “settles down” at the correct level. That is, you can leave the “Auto” mode, and in the vast majority of situations there will be no desire to adjust something manually.

In general, the display feels very positive and there is nothing to complain about. And this is the part of the smartphone that is always in front of your eyes, it is much easier to put up with other shortcomings.

Cameras

Main camera 5 MP, front 0.3 MP. The main camera has autofocus, an LED flash is also present. Seemingly complete set of equipment. But not without surprises.

Some intrigue with the front camera. According to the description, this is an ordinary VGA 0.3 MP, the quality of the “selfies” obtained from the camera (see the pictures above) is approximately the same. But the test programs claim that the camera is 2 MP, in the properties of the obtained photos we also observe a resolution of 1008 x 1792 (1.81 MP). The size of a jpg file is also not VGA at all, about 200 KB on average. The opinions of experts about the image quality varied within a "wide" range from 0.3 MP to a very inferior 1.3 MP camera, but certainly not 2 MP. Probably, it is possible to stretch such a resolution by interpolation (programmatically adding intermediate pixels), but this is obviously a bad thing. The file swells, but the quality of the picture does not increase. In this regard, the question is, why, if even in the description they write 0.3 MP, and I tend to agree with the description.

Now about the main camera, the “Belarusian Seafood” brand store as an example. In good lighting conditions, the pictures are quite decent. The sharpness is so-so, and the overall quality level I would define as a good 2 MP camera of an expensive phone three or even four years ago. Not to blame Smart Sprint, the cameras of budget smartphones are all frankly weak, and the option in Smart Sprint is far from the worst. Why do they do badly if years ago they knew how to do much better? Deliberate sabotage as a way to "stimulate" the transition to an expensive model, which is doing well with the camera?

Driveway notice board during the day, in good lighting conditions. You yourself see the possibilities of the camera for shooting readable material. Autofocus worked fine here, but the focus (sorry for the tautology) is that autofocus works for some reason every other time and is unpredictable. And even when triggered, it produces a picture of mediocre quality. That indirectly "rehabilitates" the cameras of budget smartphones without autofocus: the problem is clearly not in the absence thereof, but in the quality of the lens and matrix.

If the stars came together and everything worked, then the picture, even in unimportant conditions, can turn out to be very decent. The frame above is a cat on a laptop under a table lamp, without a flash, in Auto mode. Here, and automatic color correction did surprisingly well. Sharpness is limping, but from a short distance everything looks good. The trouble is the unpredictability of the result, and a picture on a smartphone is not a photo session with hundreds of frames for the sake of one successful one.

However, even the not always predictable autofocus is useful. For example, in the absence of the "Macro" mode, the device confidently "pulls" small objects from a distance of about 10 cm, it will be useful on the farm.

About working with text. "Work" - it is loudly said, serious tools are suitable for serious tasks. But sometimes everyone needs to take a photo of a document, drawing, diagram, etc., and buying a camera or an expensive smartphone just for this is irrational. Smart Sprint copes with this task well, again thanks to autofocus. The picture above shows a fragment of the press release text; by clicking you can see the entire page. I was not too lazy to drive the photo into FineReader and save it to a pdf file without any editing. The result is simply excellent, you can see for yourself. Conclusion: in good lighting conditions, A4 pages with large text are "edible", A4 pages with small text should be divided into two pictures.

About the outbreak. The LED is dead, the effective illumination range is about one meter. Slightly reflecting light objects from such a distance glare strongly. In general, the flash is more likely to come in handy as a front illumination of a subject in the shadow.

As a summary of the camera. A mediocre module, but with non-standard features for a "state employee", it was interesting to tinker with it. If you adapt to the camera and practice in different conditions, you can get pretty decent pictures. The resulting minus is that with suboptimal lighting, there is a relatively large amount of rejects in the "point and click" mode.

Characteristics

See below for main specifications. Nothing outstanding, but for a budget smartphone with a screen, this resolution is enough.

AnTuTu data for fans of "virtual parrots", 12 193. Interestingly, in "Beeline Smart 2" these birds have gathered almost exactly the same number (12 671). Given the slightly higher screen resolution in Smart Sprint, the number of virtual performance pens in their tails can be considered equal.

Device summary, Network Signal Info application. It also "organizes" convenient widgets of network activity on the screen, otherwise after each review they start asking me what it is and where to get it.

Data on the device from AnTuTu, the image in "readable" resolution is available on click.

Finally, data from AnTuTu on the sensors installed in the smartphone. With this, Smart Sprint is fine, not greedy.

Celltick start

As far as I understand, this smartphone is the first to implement a starter package from Celltick, and we will most likely observe this in future “branded” MTS products.

From the user's point of view, the Celltick plug-in affects only the start screen of the locked device. In addition to the usual screen unlock and sound mode settings, Celltick adds a clock, operator logo and% battery to the screensaver. Plus, most importantly, six quick access tabs to the most essential (according to Celltick) functions. For example, a weather widget, social network, picture gallery, etc.

Among the most necessary resources for the client in the Celltick company (or in MTS, they have a contract with the Celltick company) so far they have made offers of coupon services. But judging by the settings menu, these default settings can be changed. And add additional bookmarks if the standard Android interface suddenly ceases to satisfy you.

As for the Celltick company itself and its “launching ecosystem”, which is popular with many operators in the world, we'd better turn to the original source, quote:

“The growing Start ecosystem has a variety of themes and plugins. In 2013, Celltick powered billions of mobile-initiated commerce transactions for virtual and physical goods serving more than 110 million active consumers across 25 countries. Celltick is a global leader in mobile initiated commerce. Celltick "s Start is a next generation personalized intelligent interface for Android devices. Celltick is unique in creating and managing mass market mobile marketing solutions for mobile operators, large media companies, device manufacturers and large brands. Celltick enables its partners to engage and monetize their users on the mobile. The company drives billions of transactions annually across more than 110 million active consumers across its different mobile platforms in over 25 countries. A rapidly growing company, Celltick has subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, South America and the US For more information , visit www.celltick.com ".

In a nutshell, this add-on is used by 110 million customers of operators and smartphone manufacturers in 25 countries of the world, the main "trick" is mass marketing and mobile commerce, Celltrick announces billions of initiated and completed purchases through their interface.

Impressions from work

I have already written about the screen, the feeling is positive. Except for the slight blueness, everything else is fine. One of the Russian system fonts is a little unusual, but it's just "by the way". We were disappointed by the complete rejection of button illumination and the absence of an LED event indicator.

Everything is in order with the radio unit, there are almost no complaints. There is no support for 4G (LTE), but the phone switches between 3G and 2G quickly, the transition to the cellular network after leaving the Wi-Fi coverage area occurs immediately and without "plugs", this is important. The Wi-Fi module is weak in its sensitivity, but not critical. Cellular module flawlessly.

The sound from the speakers is average, nothing special. Standard layout of one voice and one multimedia speaker. The volume of the call seemed to me insufficient, but within normal limits. And you need to play around with different melodies to achieve the desired effect.

The 1,800 mAh battery is good, and in general, the smartphone demonstrated survivability unexpected for a budget device. Let's just say: in the mode of moderately active use, I put another smartphone on charge before going to bed with the remainder of 25-35%, Smart Sprint in the same mode, albeit at the limit, but survived until the evening of the second day. Perhaps that's all, the rest of the impressions are described above.

Smart Sprint 4G receives customer reviews. Many people are interested in this product. Especially those who plan to use SIM cards from MTS. Now in the gadget market there are a lot of "branded" mobile devices from mobile operators. Someone is happy with them, someone is not. So what about MTS Smart Sprint 4G? How good is this gadget? Should you really pay attention to it? What can you face?

Description

The MTS Smart Sprint 4G smartphone receives various reviews. Therefore, it is difficult to say exactly how good this device is. This phone is designed and released by MTS. Another advantageous offer for modern residents.

A feature of this device is that it is already sold with a SIM card. And this fact pleases many. Only in some cases can you find a smartphone without a sim. This proposal is still relatively new. But at the same time, the phone earned a lot of reviews. What makes users happy and upset? What characteristics are consumers satisfied or disappointed with?

Appearance

Smartphone MTS Smart Sprint gets varied. There are good and bad ones. The first thing many people pay attention to is the appearance of the device. It is not much different from the typical representative of modern smartphones.

The size of the gadget can not be called small - 13.1 centimeters in length and 6.5 in width. It is also far from being the most. In thickness, it is 9.5 millimeters. It is "felt" in the hand, weighs a little more than 140 grams.

Buyers do not emphasize any more features. Available in several colors:

  • black;
  • gray;
  • white.

There are no sharp corners and similar components. Many buyers point out that it is convenient to walk with such a phone - it fits in a pocket without difficulty, the corners do not press on the skin, but the device is felt. It is difficult to forget exactly where the smartphone is.

Screen

The next important point is the screen. For him, the MTS Smart Sprint 4G smartphone earns average reviews. This gadget has both advantages and disadvantages. In general, the opinions can be called neutral.

The advantages of a screen are the size and quality of the image. The display has a diagonal of 4.5 inches, a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Not too much, but not too little. This, as buyers say, is enough to use the Internet with maximum comfort, for example. Or watch a video.

The picture on the screen is clear. The display is capacitive, touch. It distinguishes over 16.5 million colors. But the protection against scratches in the smartphone is poor. Many people say that if the display is scratched, it will be difficult to replace it. In the same way, it is very problematic to repair any other component in the studied model.

Phone memory

Memory is another important characteristic for modern gadgets. The smartphone has two of them. There is an operational one. Its in MTS Smart Sprint 4G is only 1 GB. There is regular memory used for user data. There is already more of it - 8 GB. For these characteristics, MTS Smart Sprint 4G Sim Lock reviews are not the best. The device under study is not suitable for gaming. There is little RAM for most modern applications. But some games start here. If you do not plan to play only new items, then 1 GB of "RAM" is enough.

Ordinary memory is also small. Modern users point out that 8 GB is not enough. At the same time, many are pleased with the possibility of increasing this space. The smartphone has a slot for a memory card with a maximum of 32 GB.

If you try to use a large volume, the phone starts to slow down and glitch. Therefore, most buyers point to undesirable such experiments. The maximum memory capacity of 40 GB for data on a phone is sufficient for an average gadget.

Camera

The MTS Smart Sprint 4G Sim Lock White smartphone is not only the ability to make calls from multiple SIM cards. This device, like many gadgets, allows you to take photos and videos. And not of the worst quality.

The camera of the smartphone under study is average - 5 megapixels. This is not the highest figure for modern phones. The shots are obtained, as buyers say, not of the highest quality, but not terrible either. We can say, "on duty". The camera has a flash and autofocus. The phone is not suitable for shooting in motion or underwater.

Accordingly, customer reviews of the MTS Smart Sprint 4G Sim Lock in this area are average. Suitable for ordinary amateur shots, but the quality of the shooting does not "reach" the ideal.

operating system

An important point is the operating system, which is installed in a particular phone. At the moment, there are only a few options that are offered to buyers. Reviews of the MTS Smart Sprint 4G smartphone are left positive for the software installed on it.

The thing is that the gadget is equipped with an operating system based on "Android". The version is one of the latest - 5.1 Lolipop. You can find many interesting applications and games for this phone. As buyers say, there is only one drawback - the power of the device.

The smartphone has a standard interface. There are no distinctive features or characteristics. The user can be sure that working with "Android" on a corporate phone of a mobile operator is no more difficult than on a regular gadget.

Battery

But the next part of the phone earns a variety of opinions. MTS Smart Sprint 4G Sim Lock, the description and reviews of which are presented, is far from the most powerful smartphone. But the battery of the device is not bad.

In talk mode, it works up to 8 hours, with active use, recharging will be required after about 2 days. Many people say that this is not enough. Therefore, they indicate that the battery of the gadget is weak. In fact, no need to charge for 48 hours is a good indicator for a modern phone. If desired, of course, you can discharge the device even in a day. It is enough to use it very actively. This fact will have to be taken into account.

Another feature is that the battery is removable. Many are happy - you can easily replace the battery if necessary. In fact, most reviews indicate that things are not right with the replacement of components on the phone. Even with a battery. This brings a lot of inconvenience.

Speed

MTS Smart Sprint 4G, reviews, descriptions, tests, reviews and opinions about which are presented to attention, as consumers say, does not differ in speed. Sometimes, when working with the device, brakes may be observed. Especially if the phone is actively used and a large number of applications are running at the same time.

Some people, over time, become annoyed by the inhibition that occurs on the tasks being sent. Not critical, but not very convenient either. In general, the smartphone works stably, but if such failures occur, you have to wait a while for a response from the gadget.

Nevertheless, the Internet works really well here. The 4G signal is caught perfectly. Most buyers are satisfied with this characteristic. Mobile is suitable for comfortable work on the Internet. Especially when you consider all the other characteristics - you don't need a lot of RAM, the camera is not that important, the performance is not the worst.

Price

The MTS Smart Sprint 4G smartphone receives positive reviews for its price category. The thing is that this device can be called budget. In different regions, a different price is set for it. But on average, such a phone will cost 3-5 thousand rubles.

We can say that MTS Smart Sprint 4G is a budget version of a modern device based on Android 5.1. The phone is ideal for study and work. Schoolchildren and students, business people will like such a device. There is nothing superfluous in it, and the price will not hit your pocket.

Also, buyers emphasize that for its price category, the smartphone under study is relatively high quality. With some drawbacks, but it works stably.

SIM cards

What else can surprise the MTS Smart Sprint 4G, the review and unlocking of which are worthy of attention? The main dissatisfaction of buyers is caused by the fact that the gadget under study is designed exclusively for working with SIM cards from "MTS". That is, if a person wants to change the cellular operator, he will have to buy another phone. This fact frightens off many. After all, it is not very convenient to purchase a smartphone, albeit at a low price, which performs its functions only in relation to one telecom operator!

But don't be upset. The point is that everyone can carry out the so-called unlocking of the phone. Either officially or independently. This will allow, if necessary, to replace the SIM card without purchasing a new smartphone.

How is unlocking carried out? The official way requires the following steps:

  1. The buyer must take the gadget, the receipt, and the box with the device with them.
  2. You need to come to the nearest MTS salon, prove the fact of purchasing the phone and write an application for unlocking.
  3. Then either the office worker will carry out the procedure himself, or he will leave an application, after processing which the buyer will receive a message with the unlock code. The first option is more common.

Nothing else is required. True, you have to wait. It should be noted that the operator has no right to refuse the service. Therefore, in case of refusals, you need to complain about illegal actions.

You can also unlock your phone yourself. For this, the reviews of MTS Smart Sprint 4G Sim Lock are left positive. However, many do not risk unlocking on their own. It can lead to problems using any SIM card.

Outcome

What conclusions can be drawn from all of the above? The MTS Smart Sprint 4G phone is a budget-priced smartphone designed primarily for work purposes and Internet surfing. Not too powerful, not the weakest. Decent device for its price point. The only nuance that is recommended to be solved immediately is unlocking. Otherwise, you will have to use only SIM cards from the MTS company.

Should I pay attention to this product? Yes, if you do not plan to search for a gaming gadget that will work with the latest innovations in the gaming industry. The MTS Smart Sprint 4G isn't the best phone, but it's not terrible either. Optimal quality for a device affordable for almost everyone! It is also recommended to take a closer look at this product if you want to buy a budget gadget that will allow you to work with a 4G connection. Now it is clear what the MTS Smart Sprint 4G Sim Lock is. Descriptions and reviews of this product are also considered. You can evaluate all the pros and cons of the studied device.

Today the MTS company announced a new budget smartphone - MTS SMART Sprint. The device is available in black and white versions and has already appeared in almost all retail points of sale of MTS at a price of 3490 rubles. A distinctive feature of SMART Sprint is the screen diagonal - 4.5 ", perhaps this is the first branded budget smartphone equipped with a screen of this size, but otherwise its characteristics are traditional for devices of this class. But first things first. The novelty is built on the basis of a dual-core chip from MediaTek - MediaTek MT6572 with a frequency of 1.3 GHz. In fact, a similar chip was used in the "younger model" of the operator - the smartphone MTS 982O from Star Digital. Frankly speaking, even the software interface SMART Sprint and MTS 982O are similar as two drops of water. The 4.5 "screen has a resolution 540x960 pixels (versus 480x800 for MTS 982O) and visually leaves a rather pleasant impression. As for the rest of the characteristics of the new product - SMART Sprint is equipped with 512 Mb of RAM and 4 Gb of internal memory. However, only 1.2 Gb is available to the user for storing data and applications, while, of course, microSD memory cards up to 32 Gb are supported. As for the cameras, everything is standard here too. There are two of them in the devices - a front one with a resolution of 0.3 MPix, and a rear (main) one with a resolution of 5 Mpix. Next to the camera "eye" on the back cover of the device is the "LED" flash.

SMART Sprint ships with Android 4.4.2 OS. Overall dimensions of the case (width, height, thickness): 6.8x13.6x1.1 cm, with the weight of the device being 142 g. Below all the listed characteristics are summarized in a small table.

Technical characteristics of MTS SMART Sprint

  • Memory and processor- dual-core CPU MediaTek MT6572 with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz, GPU - Mali-400 MP, random access memory (RAM) - 512 Mb, built-in memory - 4 Gb (about 1.27 Gb is available for storing user data).
  • Display- touch, IPS, 4.5 ". Screen resolution: 540 x 960 pixels.
  • System- Android 4.4.2
  • Battery- Li-ion battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh, standby time - 400 hours, talk time - 9 hours.
  • Navigation- GPS module.
  • Camera- main camera 5 Mpix, front camera - 0.3 Mpix.
  • Manufacturer - Fukda Telecom Group Limited (China)

SMART Sprint performance in various tests:

  • Antutu Benchmark 5.1.5 - 12062 points.
  • Vellamo - Browser: 1151, Multicore: 794, Metal: 646 points.

The phone comes with the SIM-LOCK MTS function by default, i.e. its use is possible only with SIM-cards of this operator. However, the manufacturer has provided for the standard ability to unlock the network using a specialized unlock code (NCK - Network Control Key Code), after entering it into the phone, he begins to "understand" SIM-cards of any operators.

The unlock code NCK is 12 digits unique to your device. A distinctive feature of SMART Sprint is the need to enter this unlock code when the phone is powered on. Thus, if you plan to use SMART Sprint with a SIM-card of another operator on an ongoing basis, write down your unlock code in an easily accessible place. Because if you turn off the power of the phone, it will ask you again when booting up.

To get the unlock code, you need to know the IMEI of your device. It can be viewed on a sticker under the battery (IMEI is a unique identification number of your phone, consisting of 15 digits), or by dialing a combination on the phone - * # 06 # (after which the IMEI will be displayed on the screen).

The process of entering the unlock code in MTS SMART Sprint is shown in the following video:

You can buy an unlock code for MTS SMART Sprint on our trading platform.

Immediately after payment, you should have had a form for entering registration data, where, in fact, you had to indicate your IMEI. If the form does not appear (for example, if you forgot to click the "return to the seller" button), then immediately after payment, a letter from Plati.Ru with the subject "Oplata.Info: purchase on the platform Plati.Ru ", it contains a link to the product you paid for. Follow it, fill in the required information and click the "Submit" button. Immediately after sending the data, your unlock code will be displayed in the paid item column.

I want to warn you right away so that there is no confusion, there is also such a phone in the MTS classification MTS Smart Sprint nothing to do with MTS Smart Sprint 4G does not have and when buying an NCK code, you need to take this into account immediately.

1. To order an NCK unlock code, you need to find IMEI numbers slots of your device. They can be viewed on a sticker under the battery or by entering a combination on the phone: *#06# On the screen you will see two lines with 15-digit numbers, rewrite them.

2. Pay for the goods (if you pay through an external payment system ( trading platform) and upon completion of payment you will see a button "

Budget smartphone with 4.5-inch screen and 4G support. Two main advantages: excellent LTE performance and price, otherwise nothing remarkable. Yes, two more slots for a SIM card. As a modern state employee, the device looks more or less decent, and it should be considered in this quality.

Indeed, a year or a year and a half ago we saw budget devices with much worse parameters, and prices had to go up for obvious reasons. The price of the device is 3,990 rubles. on the action until September 30, then it will be sold at 4,790 rubles. So far, the inertia of thinking is working in our country, and support for 4G seems to many to be a "premium feature" that should cost additional money. Fortunately for everyone, this is hardly the case anymore. “For everyone” because both parties are interested in supporting 4G: we are happy with a much more stable Internet, and the operator is happy with the release of 2G / 3G network resources, plus a 4G device is obviously better sold.

Dots above "i"

Information for those who want to immediately understand whether it makes sense to read the review to the end. Unfortunately, the “technical specifications” section does not reflect individual characteristics that can greatly affect the convenience and comfort of the user.

Specifications are listed above, and a description of the smartphone can be found on the MTS online store website. In a nutshell: to pay for a smartphone 3,990 instead of 4,790 rubles. (saving 800 rubles), it is necessary to pay in advance for a subscriber according to the tariff or Internet package in advance for 2-4 months, depending on the tariff.

About the device itself. The TN display is mediocre in terms of color rendition, when tilted, the colors are strongly distorted, and "fades" in the sun. There is no protective glass (plastic). The resolution is 854 x 480 with a pixel density of 218 ppi, for a 4.5-inch screen this can now be considered the lower threshold of comfortable viewing.

LTE support, the radio works fine. The battery is removable, 1800 mAh, it lives a full day of normal use, with more active use it may not last until the evening.

The device is lightweight, compact and fits perfectly for a lady. Especially considering the good choice of back cover colors (black, gray, white, gold). The assembly is good, everything is tight, without gaps and backlashes.

2 SIM-cards of microSIM format, there are no restrictions on the functionality of sim cards in different slots, and data transfer in all standards works on both, the choice is through the menu. SIM-lock is installed on both slots. There is a slot for a memory card, microSD up to 32 GB. Built-in memory 8 GB (about 5 GB available), RAM 1 GB. The operating system Android 5.1 Lollipop is practically without additional skins and braking "decorations", only the easily disconnected Celltick starter package is installed.

There are two cameras, the main one is 5 MP with autofocus, the front one is 0.3 MP, both cameras are unimportant. There is a LED flash, weak. The entire photo part is frankly budgetary and in most cases will not work as a replacement for a digital camera.

Performance is average budget (20,000 AnTuTu parrots), but the interface hardly slows down. Toys - as luck would have it, I would not count on playing with maximum settings.

Positioning

The target audience is large but vague. At first glance and / or undemanding glance - a full-fledged, at the same time inexpensive smartphone with a full set of "chips". Despite the traditionally "no" design, four color options (black, gray, white, gold) significantly expand the segment of potential consumers. Similarly, with support for two SIM-cards, carrier models usually do not indulge us with such functionality. And, of course, LTE as a sign of modernity and advancement.

Offhand, the consumer gets almost everything no worse than in much more expensive models, and this is "everything" for very little money. That, in fact, determines the positioning of the device. Starting from a girl-schoolgirl and ending with a relatively demanding lover of modern technologies, but very tight in money.

Package and design

The set includes a smartphone, a headset, a power adapter for an output current of 1 A, a connecting cable, and a "User's Manual". No memory card included (microSD cards up to 32 GB are supported). Charges from a standard 1 A adapter for about three hours, from a 2 A adapter - two hours. In general, the complete 1 A adapter can be used, its advantage is compactness, and the difference in charging time is small.

There is nothing to write about design, everything would be absolutely standard and without any attempts to stand out from the one-sided mass, but the choice of colors helps. At least something "catches the eye". The back is made of smooth plastic, not particularly easily soiled, the plastic is not glossy. It can slide slightly in the hand, but it does not rustle under the fingers. The MTS logo is unobtrusive and does not strike the eye.

If the color of the side buttons can be considered a design element, then yes, they are made of plastic "like metal" and stand out against the background of the case. In general, the appearance would be characterized by the phrase "neutral-neat". It can look interesting with a white plastic back.

Design features

As I already wrote, there are no questions about the assembly. Everything is tight, without cracks, does not move, does not crunch in the hands. The back cover is pressed just a little, but not critical. The layout is standard, monoblock with a tray-shaped back cover.

Flash (one LED) - under the camera's peephole, everything is very neat when assembled, the camera does not protrude, it is almost flush with the back cover. The battery is removable.

The grille of the multimedia speaker is unsuccessful. It was not placed on the fold, but also did not provide protrusions in the cover to provide a gap. Accordingly, when the phone is lying even on a flat surface, the sound is greatly muffled. Despite the fact that the speaker volume is already below average.

At first it seemed that one of the slots is universal: either a SIM card or microSD. Upon closer examination, I saw the nest with a "ladder", microSD on top. By the way, if you decide to remove the microSIM from the first slot, then look for a toothpick. The socket is tight and there is not much to cling to, the contacts can be accidentally damaged with a screwdriver or other metal object.

The volume rocker and power button are together on the right side. They protrude above the surface just right, and there are no complaints about the clarity of the operation. The microphone is one (below) and is strongly shifted to the right. A good design for those who are used to holding the phone in their left hand during a call. A headset / headphone jack is on top, a microUSB jack is also on top.

Three virtual buttons are marked with standard symbols, I did not find an opportunity to swap them in the menu. The backlighting of the buttons is white, dim, not annoying in the dark. There is no event LED.

Display

Here there is something to argue about, one of the obvious weaknesses of the device. Thank you for even having a 4.5-inch diagonal, you could have shoved 4 inches into a state employee. As I already wrote, the resolution of 854 x 480 with a pixel density of 218 ppi for a 4.5-inch screen can now be considered the lower threshold for comfortable viewing. By the way, there is multitouch, but it only supports two simultaneous presses. I did not find a protective glass (I was looking badly?), By all senses, plastic. Accordingly, it gets dirty. But it is unlikely to be generated when it falls.

Everything is good and blissful in the screenshots, in reality there is "soap", especially in thin fonts. It does not strike the eye too much, but the text looks blurry and somehow sloppy, or something. Not very critical, but switching from a smartphone with a higher pixel density will feel the difference right away. As a little consolation: most programs are still "sharpened" for approximately such resolutions, and you probably won't have to dig into the settings.

The viewing angles are sadder. Colors are distorted up to inversion even with relatively small rotations of the display in the vertical plane. When turning in the horizontal plane, it is tolerable, there is less distortion. That is, it is quite comfortable to watch a movie in landscape orientation alone, but sitting next to you is unlikely to succeed. However, it's a good reason to put a girl on your lap, you need to see the positive in everything.

The brightness of the display on the street is definitely not enough even in light cloudiness, in the sun the screen "fades" and becomes almost unreadable. In cloudy weather and indoors it is good, I was especially pleased with the work of automatic brightness adjustment. So smoothly that at first I even doubted the existence of this function.

Out of the box, the display clearly suffered from blue, and it was here that MiraVision was at its best. The proprietary technology MiraVision appeared, as I understand it, in smartphones based on the latest MTK chips and allows you to adjust the image parameters on the screen. Brightness, contrast, color temperature and a bunch of other parameters.

Play for 10 minutes with the settings and you will achieve a decent result for yourself. MiraVision shows the changes in real time simultaneously on two pictures "was" and "became", which greatly facilitates the process and makes it boring.

Another feature is the deliberately empty space at the top of the screen, which takes up about 20% of the usable area. Neither a widget nor an icon can be dragged there. Why did they do it ?! "Doesn't affect speed," but it is justly annoying. Screen space is a valuable resource for the user, and the user must be respected.

Cameras

There are two cameras: the main 5 MP with autofocus and the front 0.3 MP (VGA, 640 x 480) without it. On the forum I read something like "for its class and a 5 MP camera is normal!" Brothers, you have not seen normal 2 MP cameras without autofocus in phones from three to four years ago, which shot much better. Unexpected setback or concerted action by smartphone manufacturers? This is a question for Eldar.

Traditionally "advertising" photo of the playground. You see for yourself, despite the autofocus, the sharpness is quite a disaster, and it cannot be cured. No, I have not forgotten to remove the protective film from the lens of this miracle. But with white balance everything is more or less (looking for a positive).

You don't have to experiment with non-standard types of lighting, all the same, nothing good will come of it. In ideal conditions (outdoors in cloudy weather) it can be good. If the subject is not small and framed correctly.

Evening / night shots in low light cannot be obtained without a flash, the real "range" of the flash is one meter, not more. But at least the pictures with the flash do not come out vile purple.

You will be able to photograph the announcement on the door and then you will be able to read it. Again, assuming you shoot during the day in good lighting. Or shoot with a flash. It seems to me that shooting ads is the only rational use of flash in this device. And, of course, there is no point in torturing text recognition systems.

If the stars converge on a good lighting, a large and bright object, then the picture may turn out to be of the level of "posting on a social network is not a shame." I'm afraid this is the maximum that can be achieved from this camera. I didn't dig into the settings, understand the panorama plots, because no one would need it. The obvious use of a camera is to take a picture when you really need or really want to, but nothing better was at hand.

The front camera is up and running. Selected two of the most successful selfies out of a dozen taken. The front camera gives its honest 0.3 MP without any tricks with interpolations, the result is expected. In the heat of the moment, I almost wrote "it can be worse", but that would be slander. It will do for Skype, but for girls it will also save a lot of time on makeup, no one will see the difference anyway (we are looking for a positive, remember?).

Characteristics

The main characteristics are given at the beginning of the review. MediaTek MT6735M quad-core 1GHz chipset with LTE support, video - Mali-T720M, 400MHz, 1GB RAM.

Something AnTuTu refused to give me "confirmed" results, but it doesn't matter. According to numerous reviews, the readings of the test program fluctuate in the range of 18 600 - 20 200 "parrots", so the figure corresponds.

As for the results, they are logical. The version of the MediaTek MT6735M processor is the "younger brother" of the MediaTek MT6735 with a frequency cut to 1 GHz (compared to 1.5 GHz in the MediaTek MT6735), and, as they say, the Mali-T720M video subsystem also operates at 400 MHz instead of 600 MHz for the "older brother "Mali-T720.

"Branded" start widget (launcher), which is now equipped with all branded and not only branded smartphones sold in MTS stores.

From the user's point of view, the Celltick add-on affects only the start screen of the locked device. In addition to the usual screen unlock and sound mode settings, Celltick adds a clock, operator logo and% battery to the screensaver. Plus, most importantly, six quick access tabs to the most essential (according to Celltick) functions. For example, to the weather widget, social network, photo gallery, etc. In case of a missed event, another indicator bookmark with a warning is added.

This starter package is unlikely to affect the speed of work, after setting (disabling unnecessary notifications, etc.) it consumes about 1.5-2% of the battery resource. If Celltick is unnecessary or annoying, you can easily disable it. In the upper right corner of the menu screen, further to the "Settings" section, scroll through it to the very bottom line.

Impressions from work

There are no complaints about the radio unit, it works surprisingly well. I was even puzzled (in a good sense of the word) by the instantaneous activation of data transmission in the cellular network after leaving the Wi-Fi coverage area. Of the noted oddities - turning off Wi-Fi when the display "falls asleep". There is a corresponding switch in the menu, but the device does not respond to it. The Wi-Fi sensitivity is good, I would say, above average.

Voice calls in 4G are handled normally, both incoming and outgoing. Since CSFB is working (dismount in 2G / 3G), there is a pause, and it is noticeable with an incoming call. On the caller's side, it looks like silence in the receiver lasting 6-8 seconds from pressing the "call" button to the first beep.

For the LTE network it holds up well and switches to 3G quickly enough, although there is some thoughtfulness. The signal level indicator displays the correct picture of the surrounding radio reality and does not lie to the big side, which I often observed on other devices.

The device has good data transfer rates in LTE. It is clear that everything depends on the specific place and time, but for the network of each operator, I have several favorite "reference points" that are familiar to me. And I know what about the speeds at these points can and should be expected from a normally working smartphone.

GPS works and starts quickly, no complaints. See the rest of the impressions above in the text of the review, like I didn't miss anything significant.

The device is for two SIM cards, and both slots are locked for the operator - a subtle perversion and an unexpected solution. If I am not mistaken, this is the first such experiment on the Russian market. Traditionally, in operator smartphones, the second slot is eliminated at the production stage, and in operator models for two SIM cards, the second slot is made GSM-only or with blocked data transmission. The explanation of MTS marketers to this new approach looks like “to make life easier for the user of MTS office and home numbers”.

Actually, I tend to suggest two options:

Refinement of the initially two-SIM device for one slot costs money and will certainly affect the purchase price. Why waste money if you can just lock both slots under the operator?

An excellent marketing solution. Many people will see the 2 SIM advertisement, but how many will guess that both slots are locked under MTS? God forbid, if 10% of buyers, because the solution for the market is unusual.

And, of course, it is possible (and likely) to combine both assumptions in different proportions, depending on the priorities of the company.

Summary

This inexpensive smartphone clearly shows the desire to give the buyer the maximum possible for a minimum of money. Accordingly, some components are prohibitively budgetary, but they are, and this fact cannot be taken away from Smart Sprint 4G, the description does not lie. The device is “doomed” to popularity due to its price with the stated set of functions, see the “Positioning” section. In principle, I do not see anything wrong with this approach, and the device looks good in the category of “state employees”.

A comparison with the MTS Smart Run 4G smartphone suggests itself. With characteristics comparable at first glance, Smart Run 4G released in July-August is radically better in many respects, but they ask for it for 6,490 rubles, that is, for 2,500 rubles. more (the scope of the action on Smart Sprint 4G - until September 30), or by 1,700 rubles. more after 30 September. For some, a couple of thousand - once in a cafe to dine, but for someone the same couple of thousand rightly looks like 30-50% of the price of a smartphone. Everyone has their own capabilities and priorities. Read and compare, the choice is yours.

Finally, a video on how to unlock MTS Smart Sprint:
