EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Modern man is involved in the development, creation and consumption of a huge number of artifacts: material, energy, information. Accordingly, he must orient himself in the world around him as a conscious subject, adequately perceiving the appearance of a new one, able to orient himself in the surrounding, constantly changing world, ready to continuously learn. Understanding the phenomenon of technology, knowledge of the laws of technology, will allow a younger student to meet the needs of the time and find his place in modern life. It is especially important not to miss the cognitive interest in the surrounding man-made objects, the laws of their functioning, the principles that formed the basis of their emergence.

Program "Robotics" is intended to initiate the formation of a holistic view of the world of technology, the arrangement of structures, mechanisms and machines, and their place in the world around elementary school students. The implementation of this course allows you to stimulate interest and curiosity, develop the ability to solve problem situations, the ability to research a problem, analyze available resources, put forward ideas, plan solutions and implement them, expand the student's technical and mathematical vocabularies.

In addition, the implementation of this course within the framework of elementary school helps the development of students' communication skills through the active interaction of children during group project activities.
The course is designed for students in grades 2-10 of school groups.
Students, following the instructions and assignments of the teacher, test the assembled models and analyze the proposed designs. Then they carry out independent work on the topic suggested by the teacher. The teacher's assistance in this form of work comes down to defining the main directions of work and to counseling students.
Independent work is carried out by students in the form of project activities, it can be individual, pair and group. The implementation of projects requires children to search extensively, structure and analyze additional information on the topic.

Classes directions"Robotics"present a unique opportunity for children of primary school age to master the basics of robotics by creating working models of Mindstorms robotsWEDO and Mindstormsev3 45544 .

Thanks to rotation and distance sensors, the created structures react to the surrounding world. With the help of programming on a personal computer, the child endows his models with intelligence and uses them to solve problems, which, in fact, are exercises from mathematics and computer science courses.

Program "Robotics" calculated for 9 hours a week throughout the school year.

Study success"Robotics" ensures the effectiveness of primary school learning.

Novelty: is to change the approach to teaching children, namely, to introduce new information technologies into the educational process, encouraging students to solve a variety of logical and design problems

Relevance: in connection with the modern global development of computerization and robotization, this additional educational program is relevant.

The main objectives of the program:

    the formation of a holistic view of the world around students;

    familiarizing students with the basics of design and modeling,

    expanding knowledge about the main features of structures, mechanisms and machines;

    developing the ability to creatively approach problem situations;

    development of cognitive interest and thinking of students;

    familiarization of students with the basics of robotics.

So the program"Robotics" aims to address the followingtasks :

    expanding students' knowledge about the world around them, about the world of technology;

    stimulating the motivation of students to acquire knowledge, the formation of the child's creative personality;

    development of interest in technology, design, programming, high technologies, the formation of teamwork skills;

    development of programming skills through the development of programs in a visual programming environment, the development of algorithmic thinking;

    updating students' knowledge about the world around them and their practical application;

    training in solving creative, non-standard situations in practice when designing and modeling objects of the surrounding reality;

    development of communication skills of students, the ability to work in a group, the ability to reasonably present the results of their activities, to defend their point of view.

    creation of completed projects using mastered instrumental computer environments.

The structure and content of the program.

In a programme "Robotics" content lines included:

Listening ( AND) - the ability to listen and hear, i.e. accept instructions adequately.

Reading (H) - Conscious independent reading of the programming language.

Speaking (D) - the ability to participate in a dialogue, answer questions asked, create a monologue, express their impressions.

Propaedeutics (P) - a range of concepts for practical development by children in order to get acquainted with the initial ideas about robotics and programming.

Creative activity(T) - design, modeling, design.

In the structure of the studied program the following main sections are distinguished - "Design" and "Programming".

The course is of a purely practical nature, therefore, the central place in the program is occupied by practical skills and design skills and working on a computer.

The study of each topic involves the implementation of small project tasks, implemented using the studied technologies.

The program provides for classes in extracurricular activities with non-traditionalforms of education (game exercises, creative exercises, project creation).

The form of interim certification is a generalizing lesson in reflection and defense of projects.

Basic teaching methods used in passing the program in primary school:

1. Oral.

2. Problematic.

      Methodological aspects of studying the topic "Fundamentals of Robotics" using Lego Mindstorms,

      Program "Fundamentals of Robotics"

Mindstorms EV3 is an entertaining and educational visual programming environment from LEGO. This is a very interesting software solution, using which you can "program" robots created from the eponymous constructor. No, you don't need to write code here. The user is only required to collect behavior algorithms from visual blocks responsible for the operation of motors, sensors, lamps, drives and other components from which Mindstorms robots are assembled. The program is suitable for any construction sets of this series and is extremely easy to use.

Working with the program

Before proceeding directly to programming, it is advisable to first assemble the finished robot and think over the operations that it will perform. Of course, you can write instructions first, but we do not recommend doing this. Mindstorms EV3 in the Windows version connects to the robot through a special transmitter device (included with the LEGO set). The transmitter is connected to a PC via a USB port.

The working environment in the program consists of a project window, which somewhat resembles a block diagram, and a panel on which you can select the necessary visual blocks to control the components of the robot. For example, let's say your assembled robot has a large motor. By adding a special block to the chain that is responsible for working with a large motor, you can specify the power supplied to it, the number of rotations, the port number (required if there are several identical blocks in the robot) and other parameters. All other block types are configured in the same way.

Versions and instruction sets

Mindstorms EV3 supports two modes of operation: student mode and teacher mode (the second is for an adult). There are also several options for the instructions used: the basic set and the extended set. Personally, we recommend that you go to the second only after you have fully mastered the first.

Key features

  • allows you to program LEGO Mindstorms robots;
  • connects through a special transmitter via a USB cable;
  • offers a convenient workspace in which a visual visual block is responsible for the behavior of each component installed in the robot;
  • offers versions for adults and children;
  • the client for Windows is fully translated into Russian.

Mindstorms EV3 is an entertaining and educational application that allows you to program robots made from the LEGO constructor to perform certain actions.

In the literal sense, programming - writing the initial move in a particular programming language - in this case will not be necessary. The user can create certain behavioral algorithms using visual modules that control the functions of motors, motion scanners, lamps and other elements of the Mindstorms robot. The application is compatible with absolutely all constructors of this line and is very easy to use.

How to work with the program

Before starting to program the robot, it is necessary not only to assemble it, but also to think in advance of the procedures that it should perform. Of course, you can create a set of instructions first, although this is not recommended.

Mindstorms EV3 for Windows controls the robot using a special transmitter (included in the LEGO kit), which connects to the computer via the USB port.

The application interface is a window, somewhat reminiscent of a block diagram, with a work area on which visual modules are located for controlling the components of the robot. For example, if you have assembled a robot with a large motor, then in the corresponding visual module you can adjust various parameters: power, rotation speed, port number (if there are several identical elements in the design) and others. Other active modules are configured in the same way.

Versions and Instruction Lists

Mindstorms EV3 can work in two modes: for beginners and advanced users. In addition, different sets of instructions are offered: basic and advanced. We strongly recommend that you test the second set only after you have fully mastered the first.

Key Features:

  • the ability to program any robots of the LEGO Mindstorms line;
  • connecting the transmitter sending signals to the robot via the USB port of the computer;
  • convenient working area, inside which a separate visual module is responsible for the actions of each active element of the robot;
  • availability of complete sets for adults and children;
  • fully Russified interface in the version for Windows.
