How to enable offline mode

When creating VKontakte Offline, I had the idea that the development of our most famous social network is not exactly the right way. If at the very beginning the concept of “staying in contact” was actively used and meant “having access to your friends list”, now it means “staying on the site itself”, spending your time to find out what happened with friends, follow for new messages, etc.
Then I had an idea to make a small stop and imagine how I would like to use my contact data, provided that most of my acquaintances sit there, and important correspondence periodically occurs in personal messages. The solution was to create an application that should notify about new messages even when the contact tab is closed, and (ideally) with the browser closed. The application must provide access to the correspondence always, even when there is no connection to the Internet.
Correspondence
The main idea of using the application is precisely its invisibility. You do not need to keep it open and watch what is happening - you can close it and it will still notify you of new messages as soon as they come. If you need to find something in the correspondence, or to find the contact phone number of the person you want, then in the application it is done in 2 clicks. In the absence of an Internet connection, all correspondence and contacts are also available for viewing and searching. Application is focused on those people who value their time, but want to stay in contact with their friends and acquaintances. And also for those who have problems with the Internet channel.

The basis of the application interface was created on Google Hackathon in St. Petersburg on August 27 and 28. At the same time was his first presentation. The application is actively developing and now it implements a search for contacts and messages, which I am talking about on video. It is also possible to work with contacts and correspondence in the absence of the Internet, as well as notifications of new messages even with the browser closed. Notifications
Not without errors. As soon as the application got its first users, the offensive bug appeared in Chromium (http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=94314), when on Windows-based computers with Russian user names it is impossible to work with the file by the system. The application was installed, but could not reach the background page. As a result, quite a large number of users were lost, and the overall impression of the application was probably spoiled. Nevertheless, the error was discovered in the evening of the same day and corrected the next morning.
