Who is Marty and where can I find him?

Marty Chonks gives assignments over the phone. But the fact is that this phone, although it rings on the street, is not indicated on the map in any way. The payphone is a stone's throw from Joey Leone's workshop (Joey's Auto Painting). Marty's tasks are monotonous: meet a person, bring him to Marty, Marty kills a person and you get rid of the car.

I completed the task for Chonks, but he does not give me the next one.

That's right, Chonks doesn't give out quests all the time. For example, he will give out the mission “The Wife” only after completing the “Turismo” race, the mission “Her Lover” - after completing “I Scream, You Scream” from the boss El Burro. Nothing else affects the counter of completed missions. If you can't complete some missions, you may have unfinished tasks for all the bosses before the opening of a new island. Go through all the tasks in the order they were received to avoid a similar problem.

A separate niche for fans of the GTA series - modifications, "mods". Grand Theft Auto III (and its successors in Vice City and San Andreas) proved to be long-lived, in large part due to the fact that it allowed gamers to rivet their stories, their weapons and their cars. Very soon, mods called "Russian cars" and "criminal Russia" appeared.

With the release of the subsequent parts, the fantasy of gamers was even enough to turn GTA: San Andreas into a game called "Brother 3: The Return", a kind of continuation of the adventures of Danila Bagrov. Very quickly, the pirates, who sold amateur modifications under the guise of separate games, took advantage of the fruits of the players' activities.

Some modders are still actively creating and releasing their own versions of old games. Fans of more recent releases are not sitting idle either: a mod was recently released for GTA V, where Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones are used instead of C4 explosives.

Grandpa Jack

GTA is one of the games that then-lawyer Jack Thompson accused of fueling an "epidemic of violence" among minors. The many years of litigation involving Thompson, who also especially hated the Manhunt and Postal series, were one of the central topics in the gaming press and among ordinary gamers. This continued until 2008, when the unfortunate lawyer was irretrievably deprived of his lawyer's license.

A year before, Thompson's crusade against the GTA seemed to be. Despite this, later the former lawyer repeatedly made revealing comments about the developers of GTA IV and GTA V. But this did not receive wide publicity due to the fact that no one takes Thompson seriously.

imitators

In the wake of the success of Grand Theft Auto III, many have tried to release their "bandit simulator", but few have succeeded. The only exception was Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. Released a year after GTA III, it was full of immersion and a strong storyline.

Games like the Just Cause or ٍSaints Row series also operated in the GTA clearing, but quickly slipped into either absurdity or banal boredom. And the bicycle invented by Rockstar is still on the move - sales of GTA V crossed the billion-dollar milestone extremely quickly.

Heritage

Thanks to the mechanics of the gameplay, Grand Theft Auto III and its successors will never get old. Recently, you can nostalgic even on your smartphones: GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas are available on both Android and iOS. PC-boyars and console players will not experience problems with launching classic games either.

And the gray sky and the green streets of Liberty City of the 2001 model will remain the place where you want to return.
