The new lg smartphone is curved. Information about other important connection technologies supported by the device. Information on the navigation and location technologies supported by the device

LG G Flex - an interesting novelty of the Korean company. The smartphone has a curved case with a self-healing coating. Accordingly, there is not only a curved screen and a curved battery, but also the ability to remove scratches from the case without additional funds. A peculiar smartphone-Wolverine. And due to the curvature, as stated by the manufacturer, it is more convenient to use the device. We now have the opportunity to test this by getting a new LG test.

Until recently, LG was considered successful mainly due to low-cost smartphones, while the flagships of this brand were not in great demand. The situation began to change with the release of G2, however, not as fast as expected. Reportedly, 2.3 million units were sold in 4 months. By launching a new smartphone called G Flex, LG is not chasing mass sales, but experimenting and demonstrating innovation.

G Flex is not the first curved smartphone in the world. Then LG was overtaken by Samsung's neighbors who released the GALAXY Round a few weeks earlier. However, the models are not exactly the same - Samsung is curved left and right, and LG is top and bottom. Both smartphones are not yet officially delivered to Russia. Which is understandable, because this Korean experiment costs 999,900 Korean won, which is about $ 940.

But as for self-healing coverage, LG is out of competition here. G Flex is the first smartphone of its kind in the world. Looking ahead, I’ll say that for many it will be no less important than a curved case, but rather, even more useful. But first things first…

LG G Flex is the world's first self-healing smartphone. Small scratches on the case disappear by themselves.

  DESIGN, ERGONOMICS

The main feature of the LG G Flex is a curved case. In addition to the very obvious wow factor, this feature of the Korean novelty has other advantages. According to the manufacturer’s idea, the vertically curved shape of the LG G Flex reduces the distance from the lips to the microphone when the smartphone is attached to the ear, similar to what it used to be when using conventional (stationary) phones.

The degree of bending of LG G Flex is optimized for the average human face to provide better voice quality. As noted by Koreans, the curved shape increases the sound level by 3 decibels compared to standard direct smartphones. It is also mentioned that due to its shape this smartphone is better in the hand and better suited for the back pocket of trousers, and in horizontal position the screen provides a comfortable viewing angle for videos or games.

This is all a beautiful theory, but in practice we have a large 6-inch smartphone with all the ensuing ergonomic features. G Flex is uncomfortable to hold in one hand. As for the sensations from the image, they are unusual, but you quickly get used to it. I would not say that there is a big advantage from films or games on such a diagonal. The call quality is high, but it is comparable to G2. Accordingly, the curvature of LG is more marketing.

The most interesting feature of the G Flex curvature is the small flexibility of the case, which allows, for example, to sit on a smartphone without fear and generally makes it more practical.

The self-healing coating of the back cover of the smartphone is a special feature of the G Flex, because the smartphone is unique in this at the moment. The bottom line is that the elastic coating has the ability to regenerate after small scratches and minor damage that affect smartphones without a case, allowing the G Flex to look new for longer. I emphasize that against serious scratches the innovative G Flex coating will be powerless, do not overestimate it. But in general, the feature is very interesting, so we will tell you more about it:

LG G Flex is the first mobile device with a self-healing coating. This coating is different from self-healing cars or furniture. Unlike a UV hard coat, a soft element made from specially modified rubber was used to reduce scratches during daily use. The new element has the ability to fill in minor scratches, making them less noticeable.

Whatever the original chips, the design of the LG G Flex is quite ordinary. This is a glossy plastic case with a barely noticeable backing texture. As in G2, there is a non-removable battery, there is no memory card and Rear Key is used. The latter includes a power button with an indicator, two keys on the top and bottom, and is located on the back of the smartphone - in general, a picture familiar from G2.

  HARDWARE START

By filling LG G Flex is the closest analogue of G2. The smartphone is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a frequency of 2.26 GHz and has 2 GB of RAM. Graphics Adreno 330. RAM 2 GB. LG's proprietary interface is highly optimized. LG G2 is not just fast, but very fast, and this is felt without any benchmarks.

As for the quality of the shooting itself, then everything is decent. LG in recent models has taken a big step forward on the camera. Already in the G Pro there was progress compared to the G, but here in the G2 the camera is even better. The only thing where the G Flex does not look very good is shooting in conditions where optical stabilization is important.

   OPINION HI-TECH.MAIL.RU

LG G Flex is an experimental model. And you need to treat her accordingly. Design, specifications, price in Korea are not the strengths of the new items, in this massive G2 is better. On the side of the G Flex are two unusual pieces - a curved case and a self-healing coating. If the second one can be useful, then the need for a bend will be difficult to explain to the consumer, LG did not come up with sufficiently weighty arguments for this. In the future, I would like to see such solutions with additional functionality, as well as full flexibility, and not just curvature. Most likely, this is what we will see soon. In the meantime, LG is among the pioneers in this area, which in itself is worthy of praise. However, as noted by the manufacturer, the price of G Flex in Russia is unknown, since there is currently no information on whether the smartphone will go to Russian retail.

If we evaluate the G Flex regardless of curvature, then we have a good tablet phone, however, with not the highest screen resolution. I liked the performance and battery life. As well as excellent communication quality. The cons are boring design and high price, I would also like a removable battery and a slot for a memory card. If you decide to buy yourself this achievement of Korean engineering, you will have to wait. The start time for sales in Russia is still unknown. The main and only competitor of Samsung GALAXY Round is also not in a hurry to Russia.

Thus, LG remains the mass flagship G2 for the widest audience. The model is quite successful and quite popular (for LG products). But G Flex is just a demonstration of technology and an application for future developments. The model is unique, but very niche. Nevertheless, the Koreans are determined, and next year we will see the development of this direction - more advanced and affordable curved smartphones. This is a good chance to stand out against the background of numerous identical handsets in the modern market and oppose the iPhone, coming up with something new.

LG, like Samsung, does not stand still and is always experimenting with the look of smartphones, and G Flex is the company's latest unusual creation. The LG G Flex is a huge phone with a 6-inch screen, a curved case and a few other little tricks.

Smartphone LG G Flex - Reviews

If you buy Galaxy Note 3 or other giant modern smartphones, for example, HTC One Max, you probably understand that they are not very convenient to hold in your hand. They are like pieces of tile: large, square and flat.

But, after using G Flex, I changed my mind about convenience and size.

Thanks to a curved screen that curls from top to bottom like a banana, and the layout of the buttons, the G Flex is the most convenient 6-inch smartphone I've ever had in my hands.

Curved screen, slim and overall design, LG G Flex is much better than, for example, the Galaxy Nexus. The OLED screen is also with a feature. But, the G Flex has a battery like two or three Galaxy Nexus.

It is much more convenient to hold a smartphone in your hand so that it goes around your face when you need to receive calls than, for example, HTC One Max.

Like the LG G2, the power and volume buttons of the G Flex are placed on the back, right in the center. Every second phone you use has volume and power buttons on the sides. LG decided to transfer these buttons for the first time, but it makes life with a giant 6-inch phone much easier.

The LG G Flex phone is comfortable and secure in your hand, even when moving it frequently from hand to hand.

Finally, LG has a feature that allows you to unlock the phone’s screen or turn it off by double-clicking on it.

There are no practical reasons that worsen viewing a video or scrolling web pages, but the way they move up and down the screen brings a little visual joy. It will even annoy you a little when you return to the flat screen after using the curved G Flex. There is nothing technically improved, just different.

Although LG was sharply criticized by Samsung for using AMOLED screens, the G Flex was equipped with an OLED display. When you use the OLED screen, the colors become more saturated (some say that they are even too bright). In OLED, each pixel glows independently, but when displaying black, in fact, black pixels are completely disabled, so you cannot make black darker or lighter.

Although the screen is OLED, its resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels is a step backward from 1920 x 1080 pixels in most high-end phones, including the G2. You will need to get used to the grainy texture in the background. Like in the Galaxy Nexus, and in some other AMOLED devices, grains are visible on the whole screen. This does not bother us, but it may bother you.

Little bonus:Thanks to the curved screen, the G Flex can be placed on the side, making video viewing much more convenient.

Pro Flex and G Flex Healing

One of the tricks of the LG G Flex is that if you install it with the screen down, the smartphone will withstand up to 40 kg of pressure on it, and it will bend rather than break. We checked it ... but we do not advise you!

LG claims that the plastic on the back of the phone has the ability to heal itself. There are special coatings on plastic, which, apparently, re-aligns its own molecules to repair small scratches. This can save your phone from scratches, but we were not impressed by this in practice.

In reality, the coating on the back of the G Flex is more prone to minor scratches than other phones, but with an interval of a few minutes to several hours, these scratches disappear. However, if you cut through thin, self-healing film layers, no reorganization molecules can save the phone.

It is unusual to have a phone that bends and heals itself, but that is not the reason to buy the LG G Flex.

When trying to add more black that cannot be displayed on the OLED display, LG redesigned its TouchWiz interface for G Flex. It is now very similar to Google and the default is Android design. Icons are simpler, colored in pastel colors, there is much more transparency across the interface. Basically, everything works the same way as in the LG G2 and Optimus G Pro. If you have been using a Samsung Galaxy phone in the last couple of years, then nothing will be new to you.

We are disappointed that the smartphone LG G Flex - only runs on Android 4.2, especially since there is Android 4.4 KitKat.

As usual, the biggest drawback for LG and Samsung is the number of programs. We were shocked when the LG G2 came with the 62nd preinstalled apps, but the G Flex broke the record. There are 84 applications preinstalled on the device, occupying 8 GB in the LG G Flex 32 Gb of internal memory, because most of them are unnecessary.

G Flex is a powerful smartphone. We already talked about its 6-inch 1280 x 720 pixel, OLED display, but under the cover there is 2 GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, and a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. The rear speaker is also clean and powerful enough for the phone.

In practical use, we found that the G Flex smartphone will be unusually energetic and fast. We have yet to find an application or situation that will load it.

We did not spend enough time with G Flex to fully appreciate the performance of its battery, but with a 3,500mAh battery and an OLED screen, we believe LG will withstand two to three days of battery life on a single charge.

Photo and camera

The camera in G Flex is the same as in LG G2, fast and efficient 13-megapixel. We did not experience lags or slowdowns when trying to use 9-point autofocus, and most of our shots came out as good as we expected.

Although it's not a 41-megapixel shooter on the Nokia Lumia 1020, shots on the G Flex are better than just average.

Summarize

Our review of the LG G Flex showed that this is a fantastic phone, and the first phablet that lies well in the hands.

The smartphone withstands 2-3 days of battery life, has a curved OLED screen, can withstand some of its bends, has a new interface, and is very fast. The only drawback is that the price of LG G Flex at the release date in Korea was $ 940, but it will certainly fall to $ 700.

LG G Flex 2 is a smartphone that will be able to surprise even the modern public, accustomed to constantly competing flagship manufacturers, equipping their models with more and more powerful technical specifications. LG offered some interesting features in G Flex 2, not forgetting about the technical stuffing, and about impressive functionality.

Design and ergonomics

Of course, the first thing that attracts attention in the LG G Flex 2 is a curved smartphone. It will definitely allow you to stand out among the thousands of owners, albeit powerful, but identical and not catchy modern devices. Curvature does little to increase the functionality of the smartphone, but the notorious wow factor in LG G Flex 2 clearly plays a role.

But there are also advantages to such a bend. Firstly, the anti-glare properties are improved and it is more convenient to work with the smartphone in the sun, secondly, the sound quality of your voice for the interlocutor is improved, and you can hear it better (according to the manufacturer, the sound quality is increased by 2 dB due to the location of the microphone closer to your mouth) . For lovers of wearing smartphones in the back pockets, the LG G Flex 2 will definitely be to their taste.

LG G Flex 2 is made of glossy plastic. It is easily soiled, although prints are removed easily. It is worth highlighting the minimal frames around the display, which makes the smartphone with a diagonal of 5.5 inches compact enough. It is convenient to hold in your hand and work with it also comfortably.

It is worth noting that the LG G Flex 2 is a little flexible, it can be bent, but you should not overdo it, as this can damage the battery. The curved battery is built into the case, it is non-removable, although the back panel of the device can be easily removed. Under it is a slot for microSIM-kata and for a microSD memory card. Versions with 2 SIM cards LG have not yet released. Protection from dust and moisture, as well as the possibility of wireless charging in the LG G Flex 2 - no.

Also, the device turned out Adreno 430 graphics accelerator with support for 4K. There are 2 modifications of the device - with 2 or 3 GB of RAM.

The device may have 16 or 32 GB of internal memory. For most users this may not be enough, so LG did not abandon the microSD card slot. A pleasant surprise was the opportunity to use memory cards up to 2 TB! Also, LG G Flex 2 can be used to connect flash drives, mice, keyboards and other devices in OTG mode.

LG G Flex 2 did not become a leader in performance testing. As the benchmarks show, the device is overtaken by the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, running on the Samsung Exynos proprietary platform. But at the same time, LG G Flex 2 overtook many other flagships, from which we can conclude that there will be no problems with the speed and smoothness of the device. The power reserve of the model is huge, it will not lose relevance for a long time, and will cope even with the most difficult games and applications.

OS and interface

LG G Flex2 runs on the latest version of Android OS - 5.0.1 Lollipop, also has a proprietary Optimus UI shell, which LG fans have long known for thanks to LG G3. The Glance View function has appeared, which allows you to view incoming messages, see the time and date, without having to turn on the screen. The left screen of the Smart Bulletin includes important information, for example, LG Health, Smart Notice, but it can be disabled or customized. Previous features are also available - Qslide, which allows you to drag and drop desktops, change their size and transparency; Guest mode, which saves your confidential data if you give the smartphone to someone else; Kill Switch, which allows you to lock the device in case of loss or theft. There is also a standard infrared port that allows you to use LG G Flex 2 as a remote control for some types of equipment.

In general, the shell is very convenient and configured to actively interact with the user. Many features, functions, elements can be customized.

Camera

The front camera in the LG G Flex 2 has a 2-megapixel module capable of taking pictures and video with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. At the same time, there are many settings for improving the face, as well as the ability to take a picture with a gesture, one touch, voice, which is especially convenient for fans to take selfies.

The main 13-megapixel camera has laser focusing and improved optical image stabilization (OIS +). Here you can also take a picture with gestures (for example, holding a fist) or voice (after hearing a certain word, the camera will take a picture of itself, and you won’t have to press a button).

The maximum video resolution that the camera can shoot is 4K. The pictures are obtained quite high-quality and clear, the module from LG is well established in the LG G3, and in the LG G Flex 2 it became even better. The pride of Nokia is a cool 20-megapixel camera with various frills!

Smartphone battery and battery life

The battery capacity in the LG G Flex 2 is 3000 mAh, which is a good indicator for the modern flagship. Despite the high resolution of the screen and the powerful processor, the device is able to last in 3D games for more than 5 hours, and when viewing video in high quality - 9-10.

It is noteworthy that in reading mode the device holds about the same. But with average and active use, the LG G Flex 2 will work as standard for 1 day, here the smartphone did not surprise

SUMMARY OF REVIEW

LG has made a name for itself with innovative and unique design phones. The LG G Flex 2 is one of the few flexible and curved smartphones on the market. This, of course, is striking. But the question remains: how well does it look and how well done.

The emphasis on sales is precisely on the curved design. Fold the smartphone in half will not work for you, but it bends strongly. The device has a pleasant appearance. In addition to attractiveness, it is worth noting its practicality. The latter lies in the specific coating of the back. It has a self-healing function that keeps the back cover free from scratches and scuffs.

The heart of the phone was the 2-GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810, the amount of RAM 2 or 3 GB (depending on the specific model). Performance is high and smooth.

Decorates the front of the phone with a 5.5-inch 1080p P-OLED display. The flexible display has been repeatedly noted for its innovation and practicality.

“Under the hood” of the phone is a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh, which, combined with the effectiveness of the P-OLED display, should provide one day of battery life.

The G Flex 2 camera evokes mixed feelings. The 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and dual flash looks good only on paper. In user reviews note the lack of detail and light balancing of the photo.

All in all, the LG Flex 2 combines good specs with a unique design that provides a leading position in the flagship device rating.

LG G Flex 2 is definitely a flagship, it has received many improvements compared to the first version, and a curved screen and self-healing coating sets it apart from a number of modern flagships. In general, the performance of LG G Flex 2 is high, but not record-breaking, so those who are primarily impressed by the curvature of the model and who are attracted by a coating that protects minor scratches, and then the technical stuffing, will choose it sooner.

PROS
  • Display quality
  • Ergonomics
  • MicroSD support
  • Great camera
  • Using Wireless Charging
  • Android 5.0
MINUSES
  • Slippery case

Every smartphone maker is experiencing a crisis of ideas in the industry in its own way. Nokia is stepping up redundant features for Windows Phone, Sony is covering everything in a row with waterproof shell, Samsung is teaching flagships to take steps and heart rate while working on the new mobile OS. As the world's leading display manufacturers, LG and Samsung can also afford to experiment with the screens of their mobile devices. So far, both companies have released a smartphone with a curved display as a demonstration of their own capabilities, rather than a serious arsenal to storm the next market height. Samsung Galaxy Round has not gone beyond the native for both companies of the South Korean market. LG still ventured to drop its G Flex to many markets in the world. In Ukraine, if anyone missed, the device appeared at the beginning of 2014, at the time of preparing the review, despite the playful domestic currency rate, the price of the device was about 7000 UAH. I described a significant part of the impressions of the model. Therefore, in the review it will be logical to focus on the numbers (benchmarks and screen measurements) and the aftertaste from using this yet outlandish model.

For starters, I suggest watching a video review.

We also have a video with first impressions of the LG G Flex.

“Yes, your phone is bent”

I expected to hear about this phrase from others, each time taking an indecently large and curved phone from my pockets. But outside the geeky hangout, no one reacted to the LG G Flex demonstration. Perhaps people simply did not expect to see a smartphone with a curved display, and what you do not expect is more difficult to notice. I repeatedly deliberately defiantly laid out the device on the table in front of a diverse audience - there was no reaction. It turns out that seeing a curved phablet today is not the same as the first time after the announcement to remove from your pocket Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or LG G2 with its surprisingly located button (by the way, G Flex has it in the same place, but this furore fact no longer produces). The general public is not yet aware of the fact of the presence of such gadgets or that technically this is a difficult task that only two companies have ventured to do so far? Or can a lack of reaction indicate a lack of need?

Screen

The first impressions that HD resolution is enough for a 6-inch smartphone, somewhat dispelled the experience of using the device. The final impression of the screen depends on the brightness level of the backlight - when it is close to the maximum, everything is fine. But when the backlight is dimmed, the screen begins to appear more grainy than it actually is. There is a feeling as if you are looking at a sheet of good-quality whatman paper on which a picture is printed or painted in watercolor. A very strange effect that I have not encountered before. The screen allowed you to measure yourself with a colorimeter, the bending angle was not so large as to fix the obstacle. I was somewhat disappointed with the brightness value (see table), but in fact under the sun I did not experience any problems with the readability of the display. The same goes for display calibration. It is far from ideal, but this is not a professional monitor to require exact colors from it. The image looks nice, although not all users will like bright colors. Several color modes appeared in the screen settings, measurements were made at the default value. And, I remind you, when you deviate from the right viewing angle, the screen brightness noticeably decreases.

What's good in a curved smartphone

Let's start with the practical part - you don’t have to worry that the smartphone screen will be scratched if you put the gadget on a hard, rough surface.

The second argument is irrational. For some reason, flipping pages on the Internet, typing and reading text on the screen with such an angle and type of bend is more pleasant. The movements are more natural. This is especially true for scrolling down or up. The phone is more reliable in one hand.

The third argument is even more irrational. For some reason, with a smartphone of this form, more things are placed in a small women's handbag than with any other 6-inch phablet. Paradox.

Fourth. On the screen, LG G Flex is more pleasant to watch movies. And it also looks great photos. Even washed up. Probably because it’s more difficult to notice that something is wrong with them.

What's wrong with a curved smartphone

Of course, the price. It will be high until the product becomes mass. If at all. LG is famous for its bold projects, which the company quickly bury. Just recall a smartphone with a 3D screen or a tablet with the ability to 3D-shoot. The location of the volume and power keys is a bold experiment. But they ultimately did not affect the price of the device. But the curved display (as well as the battery and what else can be curved) is a more expensive thing. The flip side of the coin is that it is difficult to make a mass obviously more expensive product, if it is not something that proves to everyone and each his own coolness and necessity. People like to compare and count money. And if today you can buy a device with a diagonal of 5.5-6.4 inches and FullHD resolution at a price of 4000 UAH (Asus FonePad Note 6, Lenovo K900), then who sees the point of overpaying? Moreover, I have not yet seen advertisements for this model in the city. As well as knowledge of the fact that curved smartphones already exist, from people who are not the farthest from the world of technology. It turns out a vicious circle.

The second point is indirectly related to price. The very fact of the existence of such an opportunity (that is, a curved screen in a smartphone) is great. In a smartphone it is convenient, I appreciated. And perhaps many will appreciate it. But few will be willing to pay extra. Especially if some external factors do not wake up the internal “I want” - for example, high-quality advertising for the right audience or the use of such screens somewhere where it is more in demand (the first thing that comes to mind is the new Samsung Gear Fit watch, but it's hard to evaluate the convenience what has not yet used).

Body

Although curved smartphones are considered impractical, expensive toys, the LG G Flex has a number of qualities that practical people will appreciate. Firstly, the screen is less susceptible (due to its shape) to mechanical damage. Secondly, the coating of the body, able to repair itself. The device came to us for a review with a couple of deep scratches - someone checked this possibility, but overdid it. The first day I also wanted to experiment and overdid it a bit (seen in one of the photos and, possibly, in the video). As a result, the scratch was not completely overgrown, it only became less deep. Small scratches, which the “smart” coating is designed to fight, are not visible on the smartphone case. I was able to find one whose origin I do not know. But overall, the LG G Flex is doing great in general. Especially if you compare the state of the back cover of the smartphone with the state of the accessory with which I was given the LG G Flex for review.

The body bends, under pressure it can straighten almost completely. This is visible in the photo. The smartphone remains intact, with the screen - also no problems. Another bonus for fans of wearing a mobile in the back pocket of their trousers.

The location of the headphone jack seemed inconvenient to me. The smartphone is so large that it fits only vertically in the pockets of my clothes. Therefore, when removing it from these same pockets, each time you have to turn it over in your hand.

It is believed that this form of smartphone favorably affects voice transmission, since the microphone is closer to the mouth. Our sample experienced some problems with the microphone as a whole (I believe that it has already gone through many editorial offices and business trips). But frankly, I do not remember any problems with the microphone and audibility in those phablets that passed through my hands. If the device uses normal components, then a couple of extra millimeters will definitely not play a decisive role in the quality of voice transmission.

The screen lock key on the back cover is equipped with a backlight that notifies of events. In the smartphone settings, the backlight can be turned off. I would recommend this to those who like to put the phone by the pillow and not turn off communications at night. I woke up several times from the flickering of this backlight. In the afternoon - convenient, beautiful. At night - trouble. Another unpleasant moment - like the LG G2 under load, the powerful Snapdragon 800 warms up precisely in the area of \u200b\u200bthe screen lock key.

For comparison, I bring photos of the LG G Flex next to another 6-inch phablet - Nokia Lumia 1520. LG looks more compact, although the pictures show that it is slightly thicker. In the hand lies better.

Interface

The proprietary interface of LG smartphones should already be familiar to our readers (if not already, run here). In LG G Flex, the number of differences is minimal. In particular, they relate to icon design. By themselves, the new icons look pretty, “lighter” than before. There is one “but.” Icons of applications from Google Play, and icons of branded Google applications, somewhat do not fit into this idyll. It is clear that Google does not owe anything to manufacturers of branded interfaces. But here at Huawei they found an elegant way out of the situation. The Ascend P6 interface, like the rest of the design components of this model, looks great and seamless (look if you haven’t seen or forgotten yet). Other manufacturers do not yet have a universal solution to this straightforward task.

The LG G Flex screen saver on your locked screen looks amazing. It changes depending on the time of day and the position of the smartphone relative to the ground. LG continues to exploit the theme of water not only in the visual component, but also in the audio accompaniment, but it is already doing much more elegantly than in the case of the LG Optimus G and an explicit parody of the Samsung Galaxy S III.

I talked about QTheater in my first article on the LG G Flex. The functions of Slide Aside, QuickMemo, QSLide and other “Q” were described by me and Technoslav Bergamot in reviews of previous LG flagships. The ability to work in dual-window mode today is also not a novelty. But the fact that now in the LG interface you can open links from letters in an additional window - simply and tastefully - is a great addition to this feature.

Definitely a good gesture solution. It is worth learning and using in everyday life.

Autonomy

The LG G Flex is equipped with a 3500 mAh battery. Only Huawei Ascend Mate (4000 mAh) is larger, but with its voracious processor, there is no use for high-capacity phablet. LG G Flex is another matter. Since I like the smartphone, I used only it to communicate on Skype, Hangouts, WhatsApp, I often played in Temple Run 2, immediately rushed to read the news, I did the same thing many times during the day, constantly listening to music on the road, so As with the sound, the device is doing well, we can assume that I did not let it out of my hands. As a result, the typical battery life of the LG G Flex was the same one and a half days, but the load on the gadget was more than usual. As actively as I used, perhaps, only Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Huawei Ascend D2. They fizzled out for a day. On the day of the preparation of the review, I removed the G Flex watch from charging at 11 am, by 2 o’clock in the morning it showed 56% of the charge.

Camera

From its predecessor, LG G2, the smartphone received an excellent 13-megapixel camera, which, however, does not have optical stabilization. The camera can write video not only in FullHD 30p, but also in 60p and even in UHD (3840x2160 pixels), all with 8x digital zoom. I doubt that before the massive penetration of 4K TVs into the world's houses, the ability to record video in such high resolution will be in demand, but after all, they buy a smartphone for that kind of money for more than one day, and developers are introducing new device capabilities with a reserve for the future. Let's see what happens with high resolution. In the meantime, you can see an example video.

Photography is fast, there are no complaints about the quality, I especially want to praise the HDR quality - in this mode, high speed is especially valuable, and the result is excellent. An example in the gallery below and here in the original resolution.

But the lack of optical stabilization makes itself felt - if you try to photograph something on the fly, the image is blurry. Examples of photos are in the gallery below, and they can be viewed in the original resolution.

In the dry residue

I decided not to give an editorial verdict to this device at the end of the review. Everyone is free to relate to this model differently due to its exoticism, and also evaluate the appropriateness of a purchase in different ways. I asked myself a few questions about the device. Conveniently? Yes, convenient. Is it worth it to pay an extra 2-3 thousand UAH for a flexible screen and a tricky case? I would not be ready for this, but I can’t say that those who want to do this will throw money away. If I chose a 6-inch phablet, would I prefer a curved or conventional device at a comparable price? Yes, I would definitely choose the “bent” option. Do I have any complaints about the model, in addition to its price? Yes, there is the quality of the screen, for the money I would like the color rendering to be better, but in general, and this can be used. Do I want to see the development of this technology? Perhaps yes.

If something important is “behind the scenes” for you, ask for an addition in the comments.
