Vernee M6 review: stylish “workhorse. Mobile device batteries differ in their capacity and technology. They provide the electrical charge necessary for their functioning. Processor, Interfaces, and Communication Protocols

Externally, the novelty is similar to any other smartphone company. The design of the device has not changed for several years.

To distinguish Meizu M6 from Meizu M5, M3, or even only by new, curved inserts on the back, is not a very significant change. Otherwise, they are similar - rounded, one oval button under the display and a camera in the center of the back. The main material of the case is polycarbonate, that is, not metal, but the case is still non-separable.

Dimensions Meizu M6 - 148.2 × 72.8 × 8.3 mm, weight - 143 grams. It weighs almost as much, but slightly larger and thicker, but lighter and more compact than the same.

Buy Meizu M6 will be available in several colors: black, silver, gold and blue.

Screen

The phone has a 5.2-inch IPS screen with HD resolution (1280 × 720). For such a diagonal, this is not very clear, the pixel density is 282 per inch. On the other hand, if you are not spoiled by clear displays yet, then you will not notice discomfort. The manufacturer claims a brightness of up to 450 nits, a contrast ratio of 1000: 1 and a protective glass slightly bent around the edges.

Cameras

Meizu M6 is equipped with 13 and 8 MP cameras. They use simpler sensors than the Meizu M6 Note, you should not expect something outstanding from them.

The main camera received a Sony IMX278 module, far to the newest. The same was used in - the flagship, but already old. Moreover, it cannot be said that his camera shone against the background of competitors of his time. In addition, only phase focusing and a typical f / 2.2 aperture are claimed. The front camera has a rather large resolution of 8 MP and the aperture is slightly wider - f / 2.0. Filter decorators are also announced, but they will not surprise anyone.

Communications

Meizu M6 has its own standard set of communications:

 • dual band Wi-Fi a / b / g / n
 • lTE support
 • Bluetooth 4.0
 • A-GPS.

An NFC chip is being requested here, but for someone the third card slot is not enough, there are only two of them. That is, you are presented with a choice - either a second SIM card or a memory card.

Battery

From Meizu M5 you can expect average autonomy. The battery capacity is 3070 mAh, almost like its predecessor, which was missing somewhere for a day. We expect the same from the M6, since the models are almost no different. The only innovation on this item is that the novelty supports fast charging. Meanwhile, the manufacturer promises up to 5 hours of continuous photo shooting, 10 hours in games and up to 86 hours of non-stop music listening. Good numbers, but they are hard to believe in direct ones.

Performance

The performance of the Meizu M6 will be average. In this regard, it is no different from its predecessor. The phone has 2 or 3 GB of RAM and an 8-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset (four 1.5 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores and four 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores) with Mali T860 graphics. It sounds funny, but the same chipset was used back in, which already looks unsightly. Of course, this is enough for everyday tasks, but the same M5 did a good job of warming up in games and even from simple use, which can be expected from the new product.

Features

Meizu M6 runs under the OS and a new version of the Flyme 6 interface.

The smartphone does not have any incredible features. Is that the blue color of the body and unusual control. Like everything, it is controlled by a single button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. Here you can add only gesture control and a built-in call recording function.

Memory

The amount of internal memory Meizu M6 is 16 or 32 GB. Not bad, but I would like more - a memory card slot can help with this. Use it to add up to 128 GB.

Price

The price of the Meizu M6 in the official store will be 10,990 and 12,990 rubles for versions of 16 and 32 GB, respectively. However, in other stores it will cost less.

Mobile equipment from China is getting cheaper at such a fast pace that it sometimes even scares. Just a few years ago, the appearance of a budget phone with 4 GB of RAM seemed utopian - and in 2018, Vernee is developing its M-line with all its might, which includes several devices with the specified amount of RAM.

In March, the company introduced the new Vernee M6 model, which costs about 9 thousand rubles. The smartphone looks like a “twin” of the “predecessor” of the M5, but it also has a larger screen. What the Vernee M6 can offer the user and how much corresponds to the “spirit of the times”, we will tell in the review.

 • Materials:metal, plastic

Equipment

Vernee M6 came to us in a dense cardboard packaging, decorated in a minimalistic way. A white box with the company logo - nothing more.

We open and see: the smartphone inside is already dressed in a simple silicone case, designed to prevent scratches at the first stages of use - until the moment the owner is able to find a prettier accessory.

Case included - not the only surprise. Also in the box there is an original film - another one besides the one that is already glued to the screen. The rest is standard:

 • MicroUSB cable.
 • 5V power supply
 • A small napkin designed to help if the user decides to glue the film himself.
 • Instructions in several languages (including Russian).
 • A clip for removing the tray for SIM / MicroSD.

Impressive paper clip design. The manufacturer moved away from the standard set by Apple and made a paper clip in the shape of a key. It would seem a trifle, but users will surely appreciate such a creative move.

Options at the Vernee M6 are more than worthy. All "essential" accessories can be found inside the box

Design

In the reviews, users accuse Vernee of a lack of radically new ideas - they say that the company's designers did not find anything better than copying the appearance of the previous model of the line. Although it is not clear why the design of the M5 is considered insufficiently relevant - after all, the 5th generation model was released just a few months earlier than the M6.

Except for the lack of originality, the Vernee M6 has nothing to reproach in terms of design. Ergonomics of the device is called one of its main advantages. The gadget is very light and thin - despite the fact that it is made of metal.

Case thickness is only 6.9 mm. However, this did not stop the developer from equipping the device with a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The connector is located on the top edge of the device.

The arrangement of mechanical elements and buttons is absolutely standard. The power and volume keys are located on the right edge. Both have an excellent move, do not “stick” and do not rattle. On the left is a Nano-sized SIM card slot. The slot is combined - that is, to expand the memory using a flash card, one of the SIM cards will have to be removed. Finally, from below the MicroUSB connector and speaker and microphone holes.

Bottom end

In addition to the camera and LED flash, there is a fingerprint sensor on the back. It is located quite conveniently, so a person with hands of any size can easily unlock the device with a fingerprint.

Vernee M6 is available in black and blue.

Display

The display is perhaps the main advantage of the Vernee M6. The bezel-less technology (no frame) that the creators of the M6 resorted to seems to work wonders. How else, if not by a miracle, to call what the “predecessor”, M5 with about the same dimensions of the case had a 5.2-inch display - that is, half an inch less?

Continues to expand the range of smartphones. And we, in turn, try to promptly tell readers about new products, evaluating each individually. So, recently the potential budget bestseller Meizu M8c and the anniversary model of the brand - Meizu 15 visited the laboratory.

The hero of the review is again positioned in the segment of low-cost smartphones. And no wonder - such devices are in steady demand in the domestic market, and the Meizu M6T, introduced at the end of May 2018, is quite capable of attracting the attention of customers due to its capabilities.

It is with them that we will begin the review of Meizu M6T, which the manufacturer himself is promoting under the slogan "Rethinking the classics."

On the one hand, the MediaTek hardware platform fits perfectly into the budget segment. On the other hand, the manufacturer provided a 5.7-inch wide-screen (18: 9) screen, a light and durable case, a dual main camera, a fingerprint scanner, and also introduced two modifications to the Russian market with different memory sizes (2 + 16 and 3 + 32 GB) ) Is the game worth the candle?

Packaging and packaging Meizu M6T

The packaging design has remained traditional - a box with a lid covering the ends. The material of manufacture has not changed either - dense and high-quality cardboard has been applied. But the design itself has been updated a bit.

The cover is decorated in blue, on the front side are the manufacturer’s logo and model name. Minimalist, stylish and tasteful.

The back side is reserved for service and identification information.

In order to open the box, you will need to remove the factory seal. Inside, we are immediately greeted by a smartphone that is protected by shipping films and is located on a small indentation.

Inside we find documentation and a standard set of accessories.

Package Includes:

 • Power adapter;
 • USB cable - microUSB;
 • A key clip to remove the SIM card slot;
 • Technical documentation.

We are already accustomed to the uniform packaging design for most of the company's models, and the design update was certainly pleased. Otherwise, we have quality packaging that protects the contents from any damage.

Appearance and design of Meizu M6T

The Meizu M6T case is made of polycarbonate. Build quality is very good, any squeaks or crunches are completely absent. The body resists bending or twisting loads well.

The development of color solutions was carried out jointly with PPG. The device is presented in several color options - black, blue, red and gold.

The front side is completely covered with a protective glass with rounded edges. The side frames are quite narrow.

Above the screen are the earpiece, front camera and light and proximity sensors. There is also an LED event indicator.

The bottom frame is devoid of any elements - the keys are made on-screen.

The ends are a continuation of the back cover and are rounded, providing a comfortable grip of the device.

There is an AUX port on the top, and a microUSB connector on the bottom, as well as the grilles of the main speaker and conversational microphone.

On the right side there are mechanical power and volume control keys, and on the left - a slot for SIM-cards and memory cards.

The back cover is made of polycarbonate with a matte smooth surface without soft-touch coating. Fingerprints do not remain, and it’s easy to clean such a surface.

Other items are assembled at the top of the cover. Here you can see the lenses of the dual main camera and LED flash. Fingerprint scanner is located a little lower - for the first time in Meizu smartphones it is located on the back cover. However, for smartphones in general, this solution is not new.

The manufacturer’s logo is still at the bottom of the cover.

The hero of the review should be praised for the robust and well-assembled case. Due to the minimum of elements, it was possible to make the assembly monolithic and to ensure the complete absence of backlash, creaking and other things. In addition, the body will not be quickly covered by fingerprints.

Meizu M6T Display Test

The diagonal of the display is 5.7 inches, resolution - 1440 x 720 pixels, pixel density - 282 ppi. Here, an IPS matrix with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 is applied. The display module is made using full lamination technology, without an air gap between the glass and the matrix.

Multi-touch technology supports up to ten simultaneous touches. Each touch is determined correctly.

Viewing angles are wide, color reproduction and contrast do not change.

Using a colorimeter, we measured the brightness of the backlight in various modes and tested the quality of factory calibration of color reproduction.

The backlight range is wide, which, coupled with good light filters, provides good readability even in sunny weather.

Charts almost coincided with each other, but slightly deviated from the "reference". The indicator is not bad.

A slight instability is observed in the blue graph. However, this will not create any inconvenience when using.

In most of the graph, the color temperature shows the usual results. Attention is drawn only to a very high temperature at the beginning of the chart. Visually, this can be seen as small changes in color temperature depending on the brightness of the backlight and the colors displayed. True, this is unlikely to seriously affect the comfort of working with the device.

If necessary, the color temperature can be slightly adjusted using the corresponding item in the settings menu.

The color range differs from the conventional RGB triangle in more pronounced green hues. In practice, an excessive amount of shades of green is not observed, the picture is perceived as natural.

Calling the display the strength of the new product will not work. This is due to the use of not the highest resolution and some flaws in the calibration of color rendition. Nevertheless, in everyday use there will be no complaints about the display. And with subsequent updates, perhaps the display settings will be adjusted for more accurate color reproduction.

Software and firmware Meizu M6T

The hero of the review is running Android 7.0 with the proprietary FlymeOS 6 shell. This shell completely changes the control interface.

Wireless software update function supported. Moreover, this function works properly.

The interface is well known to us from previous smartphones of this company, there is no point in dwelling on its consideration. Here are just a few introductory screenshots.

In the security section, you can not only configure the work of a fingerprint scanner, but also activate additional blocking of certain applications or special secure storage for files.

The work of the fingerprint scanner pleased with its high speed and stability of response. The print is recognized at any angle.

The interface of this shell is well thought out, the layout of the elements is logical and easy to learn even for an inexperienced user. We also note the good smoothness and stability of the work - during testing, no errors or freezes were recorded.

Today we tell you about the second Meizu smartphone, whose heart is the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (not everyone knows, but the first was the M1 Note for Chinese CDMA networks). The hero of the review, Meizu M6 Note, is distinguished by a capacious battery, good filling and high-quality cameras (the main one is dual). In Russian retail, they ask for 13,990, 15,990 and 18,990 rubles for the M6 Note (for versions 3/16, 3/32 and 4/64 GB, respectively). Interesting? We are telling.

Video review

Design

The youngest modification Meizu M6 Note with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory came to our office. Black colour. Also in Russia, blue, silver and gold options are officially presented. Live, we saw them all and strongly recommend buying a blue device (it is in our hands). It looks very impressive, fresh, and the back of the blue is not as easily soiled as that of completely black.

The packaging is standard (similar to almost all smartphones in the Meilan series). Inside, too, without frills: a powerful charger (5/9 / 12V, 2A), a microUSB cable, a tool for removing the SIM tray and documentation. There is no film or cover in the kit, but it’s not difficult to get them - the choice is wide.

The case of the device is made of brushed aluminum, but the stains on the back, due to the peculiarities of the black color solution, are still collected quickly (on blue they are less noticeable, by the way).

Meizu M6 Note and Meizu M6s

The front part does not stand out with anything remarkable - just a copy of many other phones of the company before the era of screens 18: 9: 5.5 "display with a 16: 9 ratio, the touch-mechanical mTouch button with a built-in fingerprint (around it a border in the color of the case), front camera , earpiece, event indicator and sensors The accuracy and speed of the fingerprint scanner definitely deserves praise - at the level of the flagship Meizu Pro 7 Plus.

As for the functions of the mTouch button, everything is standardly convenient (touching - “back”, pressing with a click - “home”, pressing and holding - “locking” (if enabled in the settings)), and multitasking windows are called by swipe from the bottom edge of the screen - Everything as usual.

On the back there is a barely noticeable (precisely on the black case) inscription MEIZU. Nearby are the camera modules and a bright four-diode (two-tone) flash, concisely integrated into the antenna strip (a similar solution debuted in Meizu E2). The main camera protrudes slightly from the body, while the additional camera, on the contrary, is slightly recessed into it. I think this was done on purpose to make the backdrop look more organic. Chamfers on the ends look pretty.

For other points, everything is typical: at the bottom there is a microUSB port, a microphone, a speaker and an audio jack; on the top there is an additional microphone. The sound from the main speaker pleased - loud, surround, there is even some hint of low frequencies. Of course, it does not reach the flagship Pro 7 Plus, but it sounds better than Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, for example. In headphones, the situation is also positive. We listened to the phone in conjunction with the Meizu HD50 and RHA T20i - good! Perhaps even the meizufana music lovers who owned the MX2, MX3, Pro 6 Plus will be satisfied.

The assembly is excellent. Not a single hint of backlashes and creaks was found, no gaps were noticed - everything is as monolithic and tight as possible. Ergonomics for a 5.5 ”phone with a 16: 9 screen is normal, although Meizu M6s from 18: 9 hold in your hand, of course, more pleasant. But the dimensions are slightly different: 154.6 x 75.2 x 8.35 mm versus 152 x 72.5 x 8 mm. This is how it turns out that the width reduced by 3 mm affects! The side buttons are located at a comfortable height, and the case itself is not as slippery as the Pro 7 Plus - it is quite possible to use without a cover.

The diagonal of the display is 5.5 "and the resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. As a result, the pixel density per inch reaches 401 ppi - not bad. We peered at the panel for a long time and did not find what to touch. Color reproduction is natural and the measure is saturated, the viewing angles are wide, the brightness on both sides is sufficient, and the white balance is adjusted neutral (if you come across a sample with a cold or warm display, you can change the temperature to your taste in the settings.) The touch layer supports up to 10 touches, there’s a good ole fobnoe coating.

Software

The Meizu M6 Note model is based on the Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with proprietary Flyme OS 6 firmware (the version at the time of writing of the review is 6.1.4.1G). The Chinese company, as you know, made friends with the Internet giant, and now on Meizu gadgets all the necessary Google services go “out of the box”. In general, the M6 Note was one of the first Meizu smartphones with Google certification.

The only strange moment of the new friendship was management. Google demanded that control via the three navigation buttons work by default the first time they are turned on. Of course, the navigation bar can be turned off (settings - special features - show navigation bar to the "off" position) and experienced Flyme users will probably do that. But what about beginners? After all, he may never learn about convenient one-button control via mTouch. It's a shame, Choat.

We have talked in detail about Flyme more than once, but in short, it’s convenient, intuitive, smooth and stylish firmware. In flagships, its inherent cartoonishness and colorfulness are felt somehow strange, but in middle-budget budgets this is all appropriate. If you do not like the design, then at your service are themes and a large catalog of wallpapers.

Cameras

The M6 Note was Meizu's first budget / middle peasant with a dual camera. The main one here is 12 megapixels and it received an f / 1.9 aperture. We were not able to establish the sensor manufacturer of our sample, but here the random one is Sony IMX362 or Samsung 2L7. They have the same characteristics (phase focus, 12 megapixels, 1.4 microns pixel) and should have very similar results. An additional 5 megapixel sensor (f / 2.0) is used to create pictures with a blur effect. The outline of the objects is generally neat - not inferior to the Pro 7 series.

without and with blur effect

What did the camera remember? It has fast focusing, it conveys colors correctly, white balance is practically not mistaken, and the detail does not fail. In the room, the clarity is slightly reduced compared to daytime street photographs, but the frames do not lose much in quality - they look great both on the phone screen and on the computer. And night shots, in general, do not disappoint.

At one point, it even seemed to me that the M6 Note shoots at the Pro 7 Plus level. So I took them and compared. Look what happened:

Meizu M6 Note and Meizu Pro 7 Plus

The Pro 7 Plus has a more accurate color temperature and dynamic range on most frames (not all!) A little wider. The plus-minus detail is the same, and focusing even faster on the M6 Note. At the same time, the M6 Note costs as much as two times cheaper, although it definitely doesn’t take off twice as bad. And the trick is not that the Pro 7 Plus shoots like a middle peasant. No, it's just that the M6 Note is closer to the top level in the results. For M6s, I haven’t taken up tight yet, and if you put it out of brackets, then the M6 Note, it turns out, is the best camera in the Meilan series.

without and with the effects of "beauty"

The front camera with a resolution of 16 megapixels and aperture f / 2.0 gives out good selfies. And if you do not turn off the effects of beauty, then you will also give out pretty selfies. I don’t understand the Chinese canons of beauty, so let the Chinese youth have fun with ArcSoft algorithms.

Video is recorded in maximum 4K resolution at 30 fps (mp4 format). The detail of the picture when shooting in 4K is much higher than in Full HD - we compared. But with the sound there are oddities. At 1080p, the sound is captured in stereo with a bit rate of 96 kbps and a frequency of 48 kHz. And at 2176p the audio track is in mono with the same bitrate of 96 kbps, but with a frequency of only 16 kHz. As a result, the sound in 4K is much worse than with Full HD. Originals of photo and video.

The Meizu M6 m711h was a little late to be born. It was introduced to the public after with the more modern Snapdragon 625 chipset. Shortly after the M6, in early 2018, a model with an Exynos processor appeared.

These two phones have confirmed rumors that the brand has headed for a radical upgrade of the lineup. Therefore, the Meizu M6 can be considered the latest model on the Mediatek, updated. They have the same cost, but the M6 received a number of serious additions and features.

The Meizu version 6 smartphone comes in a white cardboard box. Inside is a minimal set of accessories:

 • 5V and 1.5 A charger
 • Cable for connecting to a computer
 • Paper clip for combo card slot

Design

The description of the Meizu M6 smartphone will begin with a review of its appearance. It does not differ significantly from the M5. The same rounded shapes of the case, the mTouch button-scanner in a metal rim under the screen. The M6s model does not have this button at all, and the fingerprint scanner is moved to the left end.

The button is physical and sensory and performs a number of functions:

 • Screen unlocking by pressing it
 • If the screen is on, pressing the button returns to the main screen.
 • You can return to the previous menu by touching the button.
 • The screen turns off with a long press on the button.

The front panel of the Meizu M6 phone is protected by rounded glass, an event LED, a speaker, a selfie camera, light sensors and proximity sensors are located above the display.

The case of the Meizu M6 phone is made “for metal”, it is plastic with a metal coating. The coating is applied to the lid using vacuum metallization technology. Outwardly, it looks beautiful. At the edges of the back cover, bottom and top, thin plastic strips are left. The treated surface looks translucent.

Stripes are especially noticeable on a dark background. It is possible that with them the cover will look more like a metal one, on which the strips imitate inserts for antennas.

Pleased with the number of colors of smartphones. There are four of them:

 • The black
 • Blue
 • Silver
 • Gold.

The covers of all colors of the phone Meizu version M6 are resistant to stains and scratches. At the top there is a hole for an additional microphone and minijack. On the bottom is a microUSB connector, speaker grill and main microphone. On the right side are the power and volume buttons. On the left is a combined SIM card slot.

Phone Meizu model M6 is made with high quality, all parts are fitted, no squeaks and backlashes, buttons do not hang when pressed. He lies well in the hand, it is convenient to hold and work with him. The smartphone is light and thin.

Physical characteristics:

 • Height 14.8 cm
 • 7.3 cm wide
 • Thickness 8.3 mm.
 • Weight 143 g.

Display

The Meizu M6 smartphone has the following characteristics:

 • 5.2 "" screen size
 • Resolution 1280 × 720 p
 • Pixel Density 282 ppi
 • Maximum brightness 450 cd / m²
 • Contrast Ratio 1000: 1
 • Multi-touch supports up to 10 simultaneous touches.

The display is protected from mechanical stress by an oleophobic coating and a protective film. Based on the characteristics of the display, it is made on the basis of the IGZO matrix without an air gap. Screen resolution and pixel density are not the biggest. But they increase the battery life. When viewing small fonts, pixels are visible on the screen. Therefore, in the Flyme shell they were selected so large that it was convenient to read.

In other images, the picture is bright and high-quality, with good detail. Viewing angles are not very large. The image does not fade, although the brightness at the edges decreases. Colors are not inverted. Viewing information in bright sunlight is not very convenient, although you can still read the text. The brightness is not enough for convenient work on a sunny day.

At night you can read from the screen in a dark room. To do this, remove the brightness to the minimum value, the white balance is diverted to the yellow side. The display has a high-quality oleophobic coating. Fingers easily move on glass, and prints are easily removed with any napkin. The smartphone is lightweight, convenient to use.

Specifications and Performance

Specifications smartphone M6 (m711h) are collected in the table:

Operating systemAndroid 7.0 Nougat
FirmwareFlyme OS 6.2
CPUMTK MT6750
Number of Cores8 Cortex-A53
CPU clock speed4 × 1.5 GHz, 4 × 1 GHz
Graphics chipsetMali-t860
Random access memory2/3 GB
Internal memory16/32 GB
Maximum memory card capacity128 GB

The smartphone does not have the most modern MTK MT6750 chipset, which was used in the third version of Meise. He has a small, by today's standards, memory size. You can increase it a little by installing a microSD memory card instead of one of the SIM cards.

The power of the smartphone is enough to easily cope with all everyday tasks. These are conversations, surfing the Internet, socializing in social networks, watching videos and listening to music. For games, it is better to find a device more modern. The power of the graphics chipset is enough for most modern games only at low graphics settings.
