What's the point? If you turn off the Wi-Fi network by clicking on the icon in the control point (which is very convenient, and what many people use)then Wi-Fi will not be turned off completely. The iPhone will simply be disconnected from the Wi-Fi network. All connections will be dropped. And if you go to the Wi-Fi settings, then there we will see a message that "New connections over the Wi-Fi network are turned off in the control center." And the Wi-Fi itself is on. It just doesn't turn off completely. This is how it looks:

Many people write that in iOS 11 Wi-Fi itself turns on. This is most likely not the case. By simply disabling it in the control center, and going into the settings, they see that it is enabled.

Why this was done, I do not know. If you know, then write in the comments. A very strange and unnecessary decision.

To completely turn off Wi-Fi on the iPhone, you need to go into the settings in the old fashioned way and turn it off there.

Why then this control point, if you still need to climb through the settings. But only if you need to completely disable Wi-Fi.
