Scheme. Resetting an HP cartridge after refilling Resetting a cartridge after self-refilling with ink

Instructions

One of the most common operational problems is the lack of paper in the tray. This usually occurs in cases where the tray is closed, and it is visually impossible to track the amount of remaining paper. However, in this case, a message appears asking you to replenish the tray. When this malfunction is eliminated, the technology will continue to benefit society in working order.

Another point is that the cartridge may run out. If the printer is inkjet, and in addition also color, then it is enough to run out of just one color, and the device automatically stops working. But, naturally, it warns about this through the same monitor and shows the level in all other cartridges.

If the printer is laser, and also black and white, then everything is much simpler. When the paint runs out, it pops up that it would be nice to install a new cartridge, otherwise there is nothing left to take from it. The problem can be solved simply - you either need to replace the existing paint container (and this is done in specialized centers), or simply purchase a new one (some manufacturers specifically install removable paint containers in their units).

The next possible reason is that the printer is not connected to the power supply or is not connected to the computer via a USB connection. This is also not difficult to find out. When you try something, a prompt window will pop up asking you to check your connections to the network and computer.

There may also be a problem due to uninstalled drivers. This usually happens when you just bought a printer, connected it, and in your joy forgot about installing the drivers. After downloading them from the included disk, the problem will be eliminated and you will be able to work again.

  • how to make the printer print

If you have a digital camera and a printer that allows you to print images of sufficient quality, then it is quite possible to organize a small darkroom at home. What could be nicer than printing photos from your own camera?

You will need

  • Printer with photo printing capability, photo paper, photo from a digital camera, computer (if you need to edit images).

Instructions

If your photo is already perfect and does not require color correction or any other corrections, then you can start right away. But if the picture is not entirely successful, for example, someone has red eyes, or the left edge should be cropped, you can edit it a little in any image processing program.

Once the photo is ready, you can begin. Yours may be connected to a computer, but modern printers also allow images or flash cards directly. If you print from a flash drive, then fewer printer settings are available than when done through the program.

Each printer comes with a printing program. It has a number of settings that can be used to adjust some important printing parameters. As a rule, each such program is already configured by default in the most convenient way, which is suitable for most. You can print your photo using the default settings.

So, the program is running, the printer is turned on, photo paper is inserted. All that remains is to open the photo file in the program and press the treasured “OK” button. The printer will make a little noise and soon the treasured photo will appear.

Helpful advice

There are a lot of interesting things in the printer and program settings. For example, you can make photos brighter, more contrasty, reduce noise, etc. If home photo printing interests you, you should take the time to learn these settings.

  • how to print a photo on a document

Microwoft Power Point is a convenient and widespread program in which you can make multifunctional visual presentations. However, in some cases, when it is not possible to show the presentation to everyone on a computer screen, or it is necessary to save the presentation for each viewer, slides have to print it out. Printed slides can serve as reference material for your viewers and listeners, and you can also hand them out to help listeners better follow the information from your talk.

Instructions

You can enter your own width and height and customize the printing on the transparency film. To set the orientation of your slides, in the Orientation section of the Slides group, select portrait or landscape orientation. Then enter the desired one from which you want to start printing in the “Slide numbering” field.

To print slides with specific numbers, select the “Custom range” option and enter the numbers of the slides to print.

Selecting Slide Frames allows you to print a thin border around each slide. Also set the “Fit to” option to slides automatically adjusted to the size of your printing paper.

document- one of the simplest and most common tasks for which home computers and printers are used. However, even in such a simple action there are specific settings caused by the design features of printers.

Instructions

Any programs that allow you to create documents, as a rule, operate with print area settings that can be customized. To print a document without fields, go to the main menu of the program, for example “File” / “Print” - “Page Options”, and delete the values of the set print area sizes.

However, despite the software settings capabilities, printing a document without fields It doesn't always work out. The fact is that most, due to design features, are forced to leave gaps at the edges. That is, if you want a black sheet, you will see a black sheet in . The size of these “blind areas” varies from person to person. For printers it is less than for inkjet printers. If you set the dimensions fields, smaller than what a particular printer can handle, then the information contained in them simply will not be printed.

Thus, if you use a regular home or office computer, then print documents without fields completely impossible, since you will have to leave a small gap at the edges of the sheet. However, if you need to print a large picture, stretched over several sheets, small margins will be even better, because you can glue the resulting image together. You can also adapt to this feature of printers and, after the image, crop it at the edges or develop the page design in advance so that small margins look organic.

  • what documents need to be printed

Modern photo printing technologies have reached a high level. And when connected to the Internet, they provide customers with many different services. So, you can print your photos without any physical effort and without even leaving home. What is needed for this?

Instructions

To print photos, you can purchase photo paper and use your home printer. You can save it to disk and take it to a company that prints photographs. Or you can order such a service via the Internet. To do this, you just need to decide on a server that will perform your task. For example, use the Yandex.Photos service.

First you need to order photo printing. To do this, add photos to your photo printing order. In the future, it will be sent to a partner who will print it.

On the photo viewing page, click the link located under the photo “Add to photo printing order.” The link will be highlighted in yellow. The counter, which is located at the top of the page next to the Print menu, will show the number of photos selected.

If you want to order an album, go to this album, and then click on the link located next to the album name - this is the “Add photos to order...” link. Select pictures from the album on the next page. All photos you have selected will be added to the order.

In the last article we looked at the technique. After we have successfully filled the cartridge with ink, to start the refilled cartridge in our printer we will need to reset the cartridge.

There is also another possibility that allows you to successfully reuse a refilled cartridge - this is to disable the service mode for monitoring the ink level in the cartridge.

In this review, I will share these methods with you, and you can already conclude which of these methods of zeroing a cartridge you will use.

If this is your first time refilling a cartridge yourself, then you will definitely encounter the problem of reusing the cartridge in your printer. Before refilling the cartridge, you received a printer system message stating that the cartridge is out of ink. The system monitor also displays a crossed out cartridge icon as a faulty consumable.

The fact is that cartridges for Hewlett packard printers, like many others, are equipped with an electronic chip from which the printer’s electronic module constantly reads data.

The chip is a rather complex device, but its main function is to monitor ink levels to prevent air from being trapped in the print head located on the cartridge itself. Ink level control occurs at the software level, that is, there are no sensors or anything similar in the cartridge; ink control occurs on the principle of an electronic counter. At the moment when the chip decides that quite a lot of sheets have been printed, it sends a signal to the main printer module that it is necessary to stop printing and notify the user about the need to replace the cartridge with a new one. Let's figure out how to “deceive” the printer and reuse the refilled cartridge by resetting the data.

The first method to reset an HP cartridge

The considered method of resetting a cartridge is more correct, but it will require time and care from you. By performing simple steps with the electronic contacts of the cartridge, we will “reflash” it, which will allow us to reset the chip values and after reinstalling the cartridge into the printer, it will perceive it as new.

To programmatically reset the cartridge, we need a utility knife or scissors, as well as a small amount of tape. The idea is to gradually disconnect individual contacts of the cartridge from the electronic module of the printer, which will allow a complete reset.

The entire process of resetting a cartridge occurs in three stages.

— Turn the cartridge towards you, as shown in the schematic image. Cut out a small square of tape and glue it to the first contact, which is marked in red on the diagram.

After this, insert the cartridge into the printer. The printer will begin processing information from the cartridge and perform a print test.

— After this, we switch the carriage to the cartridge replacement mode, select it and, without peeling off the previous tape, add another sticker to the next contact, marked in blue on the diagram. Again we place the cartridge in the printer carriage, the printer will print the test and then remove the cartridge.

— Add two more stickers to the contacts, marked in light green on the diagram. After this, insert the cartridge into the carriage. The printer will perform its final print tests and stop. We remove the cartridge and separate all the stickers from the contacts, then place the cartridge in the carriage and turn off the printer with the OFF button.

— We wait 5 minutes and turn on the printer. If all the step-by-step instructions were completed correctly, the printer will enter operating mode, and on the system monitor we will be able to see that the printer has recognized the cartridge as completely new.

This method is more correct from the point of view of preventing air from entering the head, since when the cartridge is reset in this way, the counter will work and monitor the ink level.

The second way to reset the cartridge

This method is suitable for those cases when we do not have time to carry out step-by-step zeroing of the cartridge, according to the method described earlier. We can not only reset the cartridge chip, but also disable the ink level control system by software disabling this function in the printer itself.

Moreover, we do not need to disassemble the printer or use special programs; the process of disabling control is done by simply pressing and holding the STOP button on the printer control panel.

It is important to remember that you disable this feature at all times. The first time you can disable only one cartridge, a repeated warning about the need to change the cartridge will require you to disable the control again, but only for the second cartridge. That's it, after this the printer will not request data from the chip to control the number of prints.

The disadvantage of this method is that if you disable the control function in order to reset the cartridge, you lose the warranty on the printer. Therefore, consider resetting it this way or spending a little time and resetting it using the method described in the first reset option.

I would like to note that refilling printer cartridges is a great idea for starting your own business. Therefore, if you have a desire to start your own personal business, you need to prepare all the necessary tools and supplies. You will also need logo creation for your company. After which you need to rent a small room and you can start working.

Printer owners are constantly faced with the question: how to reset a Canon cartridge? The problem lies in the memory of the chip on the ink tank and the printing device. When a new cartridge is installed, the printer reads information from the chip. The software displays data that the installed ink tank is original and 100% full.

Refillable cartridges do not have such chips, because of this the printer cannot read information about the new ink tank and update the data in the software. Accordingly, the printing device “thinks” that the cartridge has not been replaced and blocks use. The same situation arises for owners using CISS.

The question, Canon, may arise when using ink tanks without chips. Then, only the software clipping of the printer and one contact on the cartridge pad are responsible for the volume of printed pages and ink life. In this case, the ink counter is also reset and you can continue printing.

Let's look at the main methods in Canon printers, which include the following:

  • using a programmer;
  • blocking the reading contact;
  • Resetting the counter in the printer.

Each model of printing device has its own zeroing option. By using the wrong method, the user risks damaging the printer, so remember that all actions are performed at your own risk.

There is no chip in the cartridge: what should I do?

How to reset a Canon cartridge that does not have a chip? The design of the cartridge does not include a chip, but there is a contact pad that is recognized by the printer, and it reads information about which ink tank is installed and how old it is.

Additional kit

The most common trick that many people use is to purchase two sets of cartridges and print one at a time. Each subsequent ink tank resets information about the previous one. This method has a big disadvantage, which is dangerous for those who rarely print. Ink cartridges cannot stand idle time; the nozzles dry out and become unusable. If the cartridge is rarely used, start reading the instructions and follow the steps in order.

Algorithm of actions

How to reset a Canon cartridge after refilling? The result is guaranteed by sequentially following the instructions, first for the color cartridge, and then for the black one.

    Remove the cartridge and cover the top row of contacts with tape or tape.

    Install the ink tank into the printer and the message “cartridge not inserted” will appear.

    Remove the cartridge from the printer.

    Cover the second row of contacts with tape (or electrical tape).

    The “cartridge not inserted” error will appear again.

    Pull out the cartridge again.

    Tear off both strips of tape.

    Insert the ink tank back, the printer will now detect the cartridge as full

After this procedure, you can use them as new. Keep in mind that if the printer does not display a message about an empty cartridge, but simply prints white sheets, then the problem lies in poor-quality refilling or dried out nozzles.

How to reset a Canon Pixma cartridge

This is a method that turns off the ink counter in the printer. Please note that deactivation is recorded in the device memory and voids the manufacturer's warranty. The shutdown procedure is carried out only once and is irreversible.

  • After installing a refilled cartridge, the “Ink is running low” error appears. Press the OK key in the notification window or out of paper - no paper.
  • If nothing else appears, you can continue working.

How to reset a Canon cartridge if the “Ink has run out” error pops up?

  • You need to click Yes in the window with this notification.
  • A window should appear that says Press and hold the Stop/Reset button, which means press and hold the Stop button (or the diamond, color copy button for MFPs, or resume for simple printers) for about ten seconds until the window disappears.
  • As soon as the message disappears, the printer will reset and start printing.

How to reset a Canon cartridge using a programmer

The safest way to reset the chip is to use a special programmer. There are several types for different blueberry models. It’s easy to find the right one, since there are many such offers on the market. They have the same type of action:

  • Take the cartridge out of the printer.
  • Install it into the programmer so that the chip rests on the contacts.
  • As soon as the indicator light comes on, remove the ink tank.
  • Return the cartridge to the printer and print.

Each of the described methods can be considered universal. For beginners, it is recommended to use zeroing with a programmer or sealing the ink tank contacts. These options will not void your warranty or service. It is worth deactivating the counter if the printer’s warranty period has already expired.

Instructions

Be careful: if you refuse automatic ink level monitoring, you will have to monitor the condition of your device yourself. In certain cases, disabling this option increases the risk that the print head will burn out if you do not correct the situation in time.

As a rule, the principle of action when disconnecting is as follows: check for messages that appear that the device is running out of ink. On the printer body, press and hold the paper feed button with a triangle icon and a flashing indicator for 10 seconds. The ink level monitoring system will be disabled for the specific ink tank (the one for which you received an alert).

For some cartridges, there is another method: Open the “Control Panel” through the “Start” menu, in the “Printers and other equipment” category, select the “Printers and Faxes” icon. Right-click on the name of your printer and select “Properties” from the context menu. On the Ports tab, uncheck the Allow two-way communication box. Click on the "Apply" button and close the window.

Also, for certain printer models, there are special utilities that allow you to reset the ink counter (for example, IPTool). Install and run the utility, turn on the printer, select your model. Press the Reset button for the black and color ink tanks one by one, and in the Ink Level group, set the value to “100”.

To reduce the printer's ink consumption, set up the economy mode. To do this, open the properties window of your printer as described in the third step and go to the “General” tab. Click on the “Print Settings” button and in the additional window that opens, open the “Paper/Quality” tab. In the “Print Quality” group, select the desired value using the drop-down list or mark the EconomMode field with a marker to enable economy mode. Apply the new settings.

Inkjet printing technology has a number of disadvantages, but while color laser printers are not yet ubiquitous peripherals, there is no alternative to the old and faithful inkjet printers for printing photographs. This means you have to put up with all their shortcomings: slow and noisy printing, ink drying up in the nozzles, the high cost of consumables and their short lifespan. Or, learn how to refill cartridges, saving a considerable amount, because the cost of cartridges is sometimes comparable to the cost of the printer itself.

HP Printers
In HP printers, it is more difficult to damage the printer by incorrectly using the cartridge due to its different structure. The color cartridges of these printers are similar to the cartridges of Epson printers. To refill them, remove the top cap and fill the syringe with three colors of ink into the three corresponding holes. Leave only the hole you are working on at the moment open. Cover the rest with tape. Once refilling is complete, remove all tape and reattach the top cover, then reinsert the cartridge into the printer.
Black HP cartridges are more difficult to refill. Cover all vent holes with tape or tape, and then manually drill a hole for filling. Insert a syringe into it and fill the cartridge, then tightly close or seal the filling hole. Open the ventilation holes, and then relieve excess pressure from the cartridge by pumping air into the upper process hole so that the ink flows out.

Canon printers
Cartridges for Canon printers are the easiest to refill of all models. The BC-20 cartridge is refilled through the vent hole located on the side of the cartridge. Insert the syringe needle into it and fill in the ink. There is no need to seal the hole. BC-21 type cartridges are refilled differently: first seal the ink outlet holes, and then, as in the case of Epson printers, remove the top cover to free the refill holes. Using a syringe, fill each hole with the appropriate color of ink.
Reattach the cover and install the cartridge into the printer. Alternatively, you can simply soak the ink into the membrane at the bottom of the cartridge, but this method is quite messy and may cause excess ink to leak out.

Helpful advice

Before refilling, make sure that there is no physical damage or cracks on the cartridge, and that the cartridge is not dry after a long period of non-use. Refill the ink cartridge as slowly as possible - this will prevent the formation of air bubbles.

  • refilling cartridges with a syringe

With the advent of laser printers, inkjet printers are gradually retiring. However, although you can print images using a laser printer with minimal loss of quality, inkjet printing is a cheaper option.

Imagine the situation: you are printing your favorite photos from your computer onto paper, and suddenly the printer runs out of ink. But before you decide that you need to buy a new cartridge, think about whether it can be refilled somehow.

Instructions

To do this, you first need to buy refill ink, which is often sold in special 20 ml syringes. So we buy three syringes: yellow, red and blue. By the way, refueling yourself will cost you twice as much as refueling in a workshop. And the cartridge refilled by your hand will serve no less.

Having purchased ink, we remove our cartridge from the printer. It will help you to pull it out correctly. Let's put a newspaper or even several newspapers on the table so as not to stain its surface. Place the cartridge with the print heads down directly on the table.

Now you need to remove the top label from the cartridge or make holes in it at the locations of the three holes for pouring paint, 1 hole for each paint tank.

But that is not all. It is necessary to carry out 1-3 cleaning cycles. The same instructions will tell you how to carry out these cycles. Now you can print whatever you want. Now let's look at the clock - only 10 minutes have passed since the start of the “operation”. Yes, refilling your printer at home is very convenient and fast.

Printer owners are very familiar with the situation when, while printing important documents or photographs, the cartridge suddenly runs out. Running to the store is not always possible, and keeping a large supply of cartridges at home is also not an option. You can refill the cartridge!

Instructions

All inkjet printers, or rather their cartridges, can be refilled with special ink after the ink filled into them at the factory has run out. And you can, and even need to, refill them, since it is many times cheaper than buying a new cartridge, and the quality does not suffer, of course, if you bought high-quality ink. However, the cost of the most expensive ones for refueling will be several times lower than the cost of the original one. So the choice is obvious.
The design features of each cartridge may differ, but the principle of operation and the mechanism for refilling them with ink will remain unchanged. Therefore, let's consider the basic principle of refilling inkjet jets.

First of all, you should go to a store where they sell equipment and accessories to buy ink for your inkjet model. Having purchased the necessary ink, which is a set of three syringes (in other cases, these can be tubes with ink and syringes for refilling), you can begin refilling.

After opening the printer cover, remove the cartridge, place it on a napkin and peel off the sticker located at the top. Under the sticker you will find three holes, the color of the insides of which will differ from each other, so you will not be able to confuse the colors. Just in case, you can make sure that the actions are correct by reading the instructions that come with the ink set. You should very slowly pour ink of the desired color into these holes - usually no more than 2 ml in each hole, cover the holes with a sticker, and let the cartridge stand for a few minutes. After this, you need to remove the ink drops from the bottom of the cartridge, and replace the cartridge.

Even though laser printers are becoming more and more popular, inkjet printers still have an advantage over them. And it lies in the fact that printing photos on an inkjet printer is 2 times cheaper than on a laser printer. Of course, replacement cartridge– the pleasure is quite expensive, so just try to fill it up.

You will need

  • A set of ink for refilling your cartridge model, paper, napkins.

Instructions

Remove the top label and pierce or carefully drill holes into the containers.

Carefully insert the needle into the filling hole; there may be some resistance.

Clean up the leaked ink, then tape over the holes you drilled and use a needle to pierce the tape over the refill holes.

Make 1-3 test copy cycles. That's it, now the printer is ready for use again.

Helpful advice

Refilling the cartridge takes 10 minutes, the process is not complicated. Do it immediately after running out of ink, because any remaining ink in the device’s nozzles can dry out, which will completely damage the cartridge.

Situation when you need to reset cartridges on a printer, is quite common. This can be done in several ways.

Instructions

Cartridges for laser printers differ in design and, therefore, in the principle of refilling. For example, an HP cartridge always has a selenium drum, and some cartridges are housed in a separate "drum cartridge".

There are two ways to add toner to the printer. In the first case, completely disassemble the entire cartridge, remove the selenium photodrum and pour toner into the hopper.

However, if you do not have sufficient plumbing skills or are afraid of damaging the cartridge, there is another option.

Carefully remove the cartridge from the printer and make a hole in the toner bin itself. You can burn a hole, cut it with a sharp knife, or drill it.

Be sure to empty the hopper shavings along with the old toner. To avoid damaging the cartridge structure, do not penetrate very deeply into the body. After filling the holes, carefully seal them with tape.

Basically, all modern users of information technology work with peripheral devices. Scanners, faxes and printers have become a part of our lives and now it is difficult to imagine an office or study without this technology. Almost every printer owner has had difficulty refilling a cartridge with color or black ink. By following simple tips, you can easily carry out this simple action on your own, without the involvement of specialists.

You will need

  • Sharp needle, syringe, ink, paper napkins, cleaning fluid (you can use water).

Instructions

Locate the refill hole on the cartridge. It is easy to follow the sticker located on the flat side. Below there is always a small hole intended for filling with paint. Slowly peel off the sticker. Remember that you don’t need to tear it off completely; it is enough to peel off only a certain part so that you can use a syringe with a needle.

Fill the syringe with the required amount of paint. It is recommended to use no more than 5 ml of liquid to avoid overfilling the cartridge. Insert the needle into the filling hole. Pierce the polyurethane layer, which protects the ink from bleeding out. Squeeze the required amount of liquid from the syringe, then pull out the needle. Place the sticker in place.

Be sure to check for correctness. To do this, just press its back side against a flat surface on which there are several napkins. If the action is successfully completed, you will see clear black ones that remain after pressing. If it was produced with colored ink for cartridges, then the mark will be colored.

Provided that the print appears, feel free to use the cartridge for the next one. Don't despair if the paint mark is fuzzy or smeared - this is not an indication that it is damaged. Most likely, you need to carry out the usual procedure for cleaning the nozzle, which sometimes becomes clogged with dried ink. Wipe the outside of the print head with a damp cloth or cleaning fluid. If this does not help, it is recommended to leave the cartridge with the nozzle part in a small bath of water. After cleaning, check the cartridge again to ensure it is filled correctly.

Video on the topic

note

Use only sharp and new needles that were recently purchased. A dull needle can damage the polyurethane seal of the cartridge, causing ink to leak.

Helpful advice

When refilling, lower the needle as low as possible, deep into the cartridge. This will distribute the ink evenly and reduce the likelihood of blots or smudges when printing.

Tip 13: How to refill an ink cartridge yourself

If you print a lot on your printer, then you probably spend a lot of money on cartridges for them. Meanwhile, inkjet printers are still very popular now because it is not necessary to buy a new cartridge every time you run out of ink. You can simply purchase ink and refill it in a cartridge at home. In addition, a bottle of ink lasts for a long time.

You will need

  • - computer;
  • - Printer;
  • - inkjet cartridge;
  • - ink for refilling cartridges;
  • - syringe from 5 ml.

Instructions

Please note that the steps that will be described relate specifically to refilling cartridges, and if you have a three-in-one device (printer, scanner, fax), then most likely this method of refilling cartridges will not suit you.

First you need to purchase paint. You need to buy it specifically for your model. If you need a color cartridge, you will need several bottles of color ink, depending on the type of cartridge. For example, color cartridges of Canon IP series printers are refilled with three inks (blue, yellow, red). You will also need a regular medical syringe (preferably 5 ml) and a needle for it.

Turn on the printer. After turning on, wait about ten seconds. Next, open the printer cover. After this, the carriage with the print head should move to the center. Now remove the desired cartridge from the print head. There should be a plug on top of the cartridge. It needs to be removed. You can disconnect it from the cartridge using a sharp object, such as a knife.

Now you need to make a hole on the top of the cartridge, opposite the print head, which is located at the bottom of the cartridge. Heat a regular sewing needle, but not too thin, over a fire, and pierce the cartridge. If you are refilling a color cartridge, then depending on the cartridge model, you will need several holes.

Before you start refilling the cartridge, place several newspapers in this area, as you may accidentally spill ink. And it’s not easy to wash it off. Check the manual for your printer model to see how many milliliters of ink your cartridge holds. This information can also be found on the official website of the printer developer.

Fill the syringe with ink. You need to draw one or two milliliters less than what fits in the cartridge. Now use a syringe to pour the ink into the hole you punched. Once the ink is refilled, cover the holes with a small piece of tape. Now the next time you refill the cartridge, you just need to peel off the tape.

Modern models of laser printers have a long cartridge refill life. But sooner or later the toner in the cartridge runs out. As a rule, this happens at the most inopportune moment, and it wouldn’t hurt to know how to refill the cartridge yourself.

You will need

  • - new toner;
  • - brush or brush;
  • - household gloves;
  • - medium-sized Phillips screwdriver;
  • - vacuum cleaner (preferably).

Instructions

The first signal that the cartridge requires refilling is “striped”, pale printing. But do not rush to change the toner right away - remove the cartridge from the printer and shake it vigorously several times. After that, insert it into place and print a test page - if the printing is normal, the cartridge will be able to work normally for some time. If this measure does not help, it definitely needs refueling.

Place a newspaper on the table, carefully remove the cartridge from the printer and inspect its design. The most popular cartridge model consists of two parts, which are connected to each other by latches or clamps.

Open the latches/latches, separate the halves of the cartridge and very calmly, slowly, trying not to spill it on yourself, pour out the used powder from it. It's great if you have a respirator or protective mask.

Use a brush or a brush to thoroughly clean the cartridge hopper of old toner clumps. To do this efficiently, it is better to remove the photosensitive drum. The drum is not difficult to find - traditionally it will be either pink or blue.

Also, use a brush or brush to clean the gears of old powder and go over the cartridge with a vacuum cleaner.

Add new toner to the cartridge.

Now assemble the cartridge and insert it into its place in the printer.

The second method is for those who are not afraid to make holes in equipment. Make a neat hole in the toner bin with a diameter of 8 or 10 millimeters and shake out the old toner through it and fill in the new one using a funnel. After changing the toner, the hole can be sealed with tape. A similar hole can be made with a drill, scalpel or soldering iron. Unfortunately, using this method, it is impossible to clean the drum and gears of old toner, so you should not use this method more than 2-3 times in a row.

note

In cartridges like HP C3903A, HP 92274A or E16, new powder must be poured into the transverse hole and distributed along the entire length.

Helpful advice

For each brand of printer, a toner of the corresponding brand is used - there is no universal powder for refilling cartridges of different brands.

  • Refilling laser printer cartridges

There are many types and models of color inkjet printers. Despite the low intrinsic cost of these devices, their operation is quite expensive, because the cost of consumables, in particular original ink, is very high. You can reduce your printing costs by refilling your printer cartridges with non-original and cheaper inks. You should only remember that such refilling can lead to disruption of the printer and you do it at your own peril and risk. Also, a good alternative to original cartridges is to install a CISS (continuous ink supply system) into the printer.

You will need

  • kit for refilling cartridges (depending on the printer model, its contents may vary).

Instructions

On Canon, as a rule, 2 are installed - one for black, the second for. Determine what color ink your model uses. Remove the black ink cartridge. Cover the nozzle at the bottom of the cartridge with tape. Tear off the sticker on the top of the cartridge. Fill the syringe with 10 milliliters of black ink. Slowly insert the syringe needle into the hole located at the top of the cartridge 5 mm. Slowly move the syringe plunger to inject ink into the cartridge. Place the sticker on the top of the cartridge in place. Remove the tape from the cartridge nozzle. Install the printer cartridge.

Remove the color printer cartridge. Immediately seal the nozzle at the bottom of the cartridge. Peel off the sticker from the top side. There will be 3 holes under it, each leading to its own container with a certain color. Important! Correctly determine what color ink is in each container. Otherwise, after incorrect refilling, the cartridge will become unusable. To determine the color of the ink in each container, insert an easily paintable solid object into the holes. This could be a sharpened match, a wooden toothpick, or the like. Fill the syringe with 5 milliliters of ink. Then insert the syringe needle into the cartridge hole 5 mm. Slowly introduce ink into the cartridge. Repeat this operation with the remaining two containers in this cartridge. Cover the top holes on the cartridge with an old sticker or tape. Peel off the tape from the cartridge nozzle. Install the cartridge into the printer carriage.

Turn on the printer. Press and hold the Stop/Reset button. After 30 seconds, the printer's ink counter will turn off and then you can use it. This reset method does not work on all printer models. In this case, use special programs to reset the ink counter.

Many users are wondering how to disable control level ink in printers and multifunction devices, because messages about lack of toner are sometimes untrue and simply interfere with operation.

You will need

  • - printer or multifunctional device.

Instructions

Disable ink level monitoring. This can be done by resetting the chips built into the cartridges. They are precisely designed to determine the ink level and prevent refilling of the cartridge. But resetting the chip is quite difficult.

Wait until one cartridge runs out of ink and a warning message appears on the printer/multifunction device display, prompting you to continue or stop printing. In this window, click “OK”, or click on the Stop/Reset button (the button looks like a red/orange triangle in a circle). Printing will resume. Once one of the cartridges is completely out of ink, a message will reappear on the printer screen prompting you to replace the cartridge. If you have a multifunction device/printer with a built-in cartridge, press and hold the Stop/Reset button for ten seconds. This way you will disable monitoring of the ink level in the cartridge.

To disable the ink level control of a printer with separate ink tanks, to do this, answer the questions that will appear on the computer screen. When prompted on the screen, press the Stop/Reset button if you have a multifunction device, or the Resume/Cancel button if you have a printer, and hold it for ten seconds. Disable ink quantity control for each cartridge separately. This will not block printing or affect print quality.

Disable the " Control level ink" on the computer to which it is connected. To do this, go to the “Control Panel”, select the “Printers” option. Next, call the context menu on the printer icon, select the “Properties” command. Then go to the “Maintenance” tab, select the “Printer Status Information” option, click on the “Options” button. Uncheck the "Produce warning automatically" checkbox.

Cartridges types hp c3906a and hp c4092a are used in many HP LaserJet printers. Their design is simple, so the user can refill the cartridges himself.

Instructions

To refill the cartridge, you need to divide it into two halves: place it on one of the ends. On the side of the cartridge there is a pin tip that connects the two halves. You need to push it inside the cartridge. Do this with an awl or something similar. Place the awl on the end of the pin and apply a not very strong but sharp blow to it.

If the pin does not budge, repeat this action several times. Repeat the same with the second pin located on the opposite end. Divide the cartridge into two halves. Take the half that has the drum unit on it. Using pliers, pull out the pin located on the gear side of the photoconductor. Bend the drum a little and pull it out.

Remove the charge shaft. It is held in two plastic bushings. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the cleaning blade and remove it. Empty the waste toner box of its contents. Wipe the cleaning blade and charge shaft with a napkin. Then reassemble half of the cartridge in reverse order. The edge of the cleaning blade must be sprinkled with a special powder. After installation, the photoconductor should turn with little effort.

Take half of the magnetic roller cartridge. At the end where there are no gears, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw and separate the cover from the cartridge half. Remove the plastic cover that covers the toner refill hole. To refill a cartridge, you will need approximately 140 grams of HP 1200 toner. Before refilling the toner, the container containing it must be shaken thoroughly.

Use a funnel to pour toner into half of the cartridge. Then close the cap. Align the two halves of the cartridge together and insert the mounting pins so that their edges are flush with the body.

Almost all manufacturers of printers (and consumables for them) try to make unique cartridges that cannot be refilled. That is, it is assumed that every time the ink in the cartridge runs out, the user will buy a new cartridge.

You will need

  • - Internet;
  • - cartridge.

Instructions

But original consumables are very expensive, so users resort to different methods to print the cartridge again. One of the easiest ways to force the printer to accept a refilled cartridge is to have three identical cartridges available. Since the printer stores information about the last two cartridges, installing a third cartridge also displaces the first cartridge, so that it can be installed in the printer again as a new one.

Use the printer's service utilities, which are supplied on the disk along with the drivers. The instructions for some printer models indicate a sequence of actions that can cause the cartridge to be reset. So, in a Canon MFP, when installing a refilled cartridge, it is enough to hold the reset button for half a minute.

Search the Internet and download a program to reset information about installed cartridges. To do this, you need to know the printer model or cartridge model. Such programs are quite common and can be easily found. Reset the cartridge information by sealing the contacts on the chip. Which contacts to seal depends on the cartridge itself. Detailed information can be found online for your cartridge model. Read each step of the instructions carefully, as if done incorrectly, you can seriously damage the printer, as well as all its internals.

If one of the cartridges has failed and the printer does not accept it, do not throw away the cartridge. Perhaps it will still be useful for implementing point 1 of these instructions. If it doesn’t work out in any way, it means it has completely become unusable and it’s easier to buy a new one or contact a specialized center so that specialists can try to reset the cartridge data themselves.

The ink levels in all inkjet cartridges are monitored programmatically, i.e., for example, a cartridge is designed for 220 pages and as it prints, it consumes this resource. As soon as it becomes zero, the printer will begin to report information about the end of the ink in the cartridge and the need to replace it.

Those. the printer does not know the actual (actual) filling of the cartridges with ink - there is no sensor monitoring the actual amount of ink in the cartridges. This can explain the most common user question after refilling: “I refilled the cartridge, but the printer shows that it is empty.”

Canon's policy is more liberal in relation to other printer manufacturers and allows you to disable this function, i.e. Disabling this function is possible only on Canon printers/MFPs and not always.

If you have such a question and after refilling the cartridge and installing it in the printer, the device still shows that the refilled cartridge is empty and further operation of the printer is blocked and/or a message appears on the computer screen that the cartridge has run out (Fig. 1) and you need to replacing it, it is necessary to carry out the procedure disabling the ink tracking function on the printer.

For cartridges PG-37/40/510/512/440/440XL, CL-38/41/511/513/441/441XL

For ink tanks PGI-5Bk/520Bk/425Bk/525Bk/450Bk, CLI-8/521/426/526/451

Rice. 2.1. Information message about the possibility of disabling ink level monitoring in Canon printers and MFPs on cartridges

If you have a multifunction device/printer with a built-in cartridge, click the button "Stop/Reset"(usually this is a button with a triangle in a circle on it) and hold it for 30 seconds. This way you will disable monitoring of the ink level in the cartridge.

Rice. 2.2. Information message about the possibility of disabling ink level monitoring in Canon printers and MFPs using ink tanks

To disable the ink level control of a printer with separate ink tanks, to do this, answer the questions that will appear on the computer screen. When prompted on the screen, press the button "Stop/Reset" in case you have a multifunction device, or “Resume/Cancel” if you have a printer, and hold it for 10 seconds. Disable ink quantity control for each ink tank individually. This will not block printing or affect print quality.

Sometimes, instead of a simple message, the computer may issue instructions that describe in detail the steps to eliminate the problem. For example, “Press and hold the printer key for at least 5 seconds "Stop/Reset" she's the same "Stop/Reset" means that after holding the button for 5 seconds, a shutdown will occur, which will allow you to continue printing with the cartridge already refilled. It should be remembered that this action should be performed for each refilled cartridge.

Rice. 3. Button "Stop/Reset" located on the printer panel

Disable the Ink Level Monitor feature on the computer it is connected to. To do this, go to "Control Panel", select option "Printers". Next, call the context menu on the printer icon, select the command "Properties". Then go to the tab "Service", select option "Printer Status Information", click on the button "Options". Uncheck "Display warning automatically".

Peculiarities:

  • Disabling ink level control is the same on all Canon printers and MFPs, both cartridge-based (PG-37/40/510/512/440/440XL, CL-38/41/511/513/441/441XL) and ink tank base (PGI-5Bk/520Bk/425Bk/525Bk, CLI-8/521/426/526);
  • This function only available in Canon printers and MFPs. This method not applicable to printers from other manufacturers (HP, Lexmark, Epson, etc.);
  • For ink tank-based printers, the control disabling operation must be performed for each color separately;
  • Ink level control is disabled on the cartridge (not on the printer), i.e. When replacing a cartridge with a new one, the ink level will begin to be controlled automatically. There is no need to turn on the ink level.

Now the ink level warning system will be disabled permanently. It is necessary to check the ink level visually (i.e. open the printer cover). Printing a large number of pages without ink can damage the print head.
