You probably need to accept your generation and relax, and not resist something you don't understand.

Opening the box with the smartphone, I anticipated a scattering of interesting sensations and experiences - I got them. A day with the iPhone X - admiration for all aspects and a complete reluctance to part with the gadget for a moment. Again, everything is as it was in the days of the first iPhone - those who have not parted with iPhones for ten years will have great pleasure. I want to note that in the material I will not focus on technology, I will share with you my emotions and impressions, now this is more important.

Design

There's something Vertu about the iPhone X, especially if you know what you're dealing with. We are dealing with surgical stainless steel, an alloy developed by Apple specifically for its products. To match the color of the glass with the color of the steel, paint is applied at the molecular level. The phrase “special technology” can be repeated and repeated and repeated - one feels that this is a special product for the company, and therefore the feeling of ownership is very interesting. Smooth metal, almost invisible gaps, glass, interesting dimensions.

I, in recent years, walked with iPhones Plus, in my hand X feels like a cross between a regular device and a larger version. I would have liked a bigger version to have a larger display - who knows, maybe the iPhone X Plus is coming. For the majority, I suppose, the diagonal that is will be enough, to communicate with the device comfortably, for once, my iPhone is invisible in my pocket and fits there with my wallet. Yes, not a "five", but not a "plus" at all. I twisted both versions in my hands, black and white, both are good, and you can safely choose either - cosmic sensations from assembly, materials and little things. What matters is the stunning display and how neatly the bezels are. Steel - the screen with the right black - smooth and smooth interface - expected work of all functions - and this is the impression of the product.

For a day without a case, if there are scratches on the surface, then microscopic ones, I will try to carry the iPhone X actively, with keys, and then I will tell you what happened to the case and how. I don't think it will be easy to destroy the iPhone X - by the way, the glass can be replaced at an authorized service without replacing the entire case.

We turned on the iPhone X, looked and realized that here it is, an OLED display with the right black, the right white, with such a picture in the movies that you even want to review it. Don't forget to enable HDR video download in the settings, it's even cooler (this applies to the "Video" application). Is the "beard" on the left annoying? Honestly, after a few seconds you forget about the ledge, all the more, you can change the aspect ratio when viewing, there may be stripes on the left and right.

God, how black is it, it's just something.

Now, CHARGE PERCENTAGE DISPLAY IS NOT SUPPORTED, apparently because there is not enough space in the right compartment for service indicators (network signal strength, Wi-Fi, and also a battery). The second piece of news is that the "globe" went down and, at once, it became much more convenient to type text, it is convenient to move your finger to switch the language. The third news, a bunch of new gestures, and you will have to sweat the first day, but this is even pleasant - I repeat, the device is not like any other iPhone. You move your finger upwards, vibration, the application menu opens, then you can close them.

Move the program window up - go home. Nice transition from application to application - move your finger from the lower left corner to the right corner, you need to describe the arc. Everything is very smooth, beautiful, and, for sure, for many companies (Samsung, for example) it will serve as a source of inspiration for the design team. Or Apple Pay - you need to double-click on the power button, select a card - you will see an animated FaceID splash screen and the payment will take place. The control panel with switches comes out if you slide your finger down from the upper right corner. The display supports TrueTone technology, a diagonal of 5.8 inches, a resolution of 2436 × 1125 pixels, 458 pixels per inch. I refused to talk about boring characteristics, but you can't do without it - there is something to work on. I would like to be able to turn on the login to the desktop IMMEDIATELY after FaceID is triggered, I would like to receive updates for a number of programs as soon as possible. While I am writing these lines, there are no updates, and Sberbank, for example, looks awful, with dark stripes at the top and bottom. I suppose that from the third of November I will have to update my hundred programs properly. And don't forget, the iPhone X reboot now happens like an eight - press volume up, volume down, hold down the power button until the logo appears.

A little more about gestures - they ask what to do if you clicked on the icon to change the location or delete the program, and they start to "shake" - you need to slide your finger upward. And in general, do not be alarmed - the bar at the bottom, indicating Home, helps you to get used to it faster, the gestures here work as they should, I did not notice any failures or lack of logic. Within a couple of hours, you can control the iPhone X with your eyes closed.

Water and stone

The smartphone is not afraid of water and dust, "Degree of protection IP67 according to IEC 60529", as the official data says, in reality you can take it in the bath, shower, swim and dive. But keep all charges away from water and bathrooms. After salt water - rinse in fresh water, call common sense for help; diving 100 meters with the iPhone X is not worth it. As for drops, stainless steel is a reliable material, but glass does not like stone. I know about myself that I am a handshake, so I immediately got the Just Mobile Quattro Air case, put a magnet for the holder inside the car and walk like that. It may not be very elegant, but it is convenient in the car and it is not scary to drop it.

In general, of course, everything is fine with the camera, there is a "Portrait" mode for selfies, animated emoji, 4K video recording at 24, 30 or 60 frames / s, stabilization works well when shooting video - but let's leave the conversation about cameras for later. I think the iPhone X takes better pictures than the iPhone 8 Plus, especially when it comes to shooting in the dark.

In general, the whole thing. Therefore, if you usually have a lot of content, I advise you to take the iPhone X 256 GB. Nevertheless, the 64 GB version will also find its fans, the price difference is great, 79,990 rubles and 91,990 rubles. As a friend told me, he ordered it for 64 GB, because he takes ten photos a month, does not like music, and if he listens, then in "VKontakte". God will judge him. I think it's better to add these ten thousand and then live in peace.

FaceID

You can set up FaceID during the initial setup or later, everything is much easier than with TouchID. We look into the camera, turn our head until we completely fill the field. The TrueDepth camera and the entire filling of the smartphone work instantly, face recognition is good in a variety of conditions: it is cloudy in Moscow now, so there were no problems during the day at dusk. Over time, the system learns and recognizes you with glasses, a hat, a beard and mustache, no beard or mustache, in a variety of guises.

Basically, the focus is on the eyes, nose and mouth, so if the device is on the side, the lock will not open; but once you look at your smartphone, the lock opens. Then you need to move the screen up and, voila, we get to the desktop - this does not happen automatically yet. Let me remind you that TouchID accelerated the work with the device, with FaceID an additional action is needed. Some programs, while using the smartphone, request FaceID, a menu appears and you need to look at the smartphone. The range of operation is long, I managed to unlock the device from somewhere from forty centimeters and in conditions with poor lighting. There are no problems in the dark and in the sun. I remember how the Samsung Galaxy S8 asked me in Dubai to open my eyes wider on the beach to unlock it. I opened them, opened them, opened them until the minister came running with a question - is everything all right with me and whether a doctor is needed. With iPhone X, you don't need to open your eyes or wrinkle your faces - you can do this in Messages to make animated emoticons, but in real life everything is unlocked instantly.

Of course, here a lot of all sorts of thoughts about security appear, because at night someone can unlock the device and do something. You can't add a second person - as it was with fingerprints: my wife and I can easily enter each other's smartphones and tablets, because you never know what. Already they sell masks for protection during sleep on Ali, it is not recommended to use FaceID for children under 13 years old and those who have twins or very similar relatives. There are many reservations, but, in fact, the level of protection is even better than using TouchID. It is quite possible that Apple will add a fingerprint sensor built into the display for the following devices - so that "security" reaches its climax. But you can live with FaceID - right now, on the screen, notifications, closed from prying eyes, I look right on the screen and messages are revealed. By the way, you can now wake up the iPhone X by touching the display, without double taps and other things.

A little practice at different times and in different situations. In the car, if the device is "glued" to the holder, you wake up the smartphone with your finger, face recognition is in progress, in the dark and from a long distance it happens instantly - amazing. Then swipe up to go to your desktop. Unusual at first, after a day it becomes commonplace. You read in bed at night, the device is blocked, lifted to your face, moved the curtain, read again. Just as Touch ID, which works instantly, once struck, so now Face ID is striking, which does not cause problems for the user.

Apple Pay

I tried to pay for several things using Apple Pay and Face ID, in different stores - just yesterday I went to a tire service, then to buy groceries, then I bought winter 95s Nike, then I went and took things from dry cleaning. There were no problems with the terminals, in one place there was a cancellation of payment, an Alfa-Bank card, but, according to the seller, this is some kind of strange terminal. There were no problems with the map in other places. Payment takes place instantly, you double-click on the side button to call Wallet (from a locked state), then you just have to look at the screen. Touch ID and Face ID are equally convenient. Payment is carried out in the same way in programs, for example, in Tinkoff, face recognition is already supported, and when transferring from account to account, a request for identification appears, then an icon, then the transfer is already in progress. I repeat, everything is like with a finger, only you don't have to "press" anywhere - looked, the action happened. If you don't look, nothing happens.

Speaker

For many, it is customary to use a smartphone as a mini speaker system. The iPhone X, despite its size, has well-matched stereo speakers located at the top and bottom of the device. The sound is deep, the volume is great, somewhere on business trips, trips or even just in the bathroom, you can listen to music with iPhones and not break off. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that two stereo speakers at once in devices of this size are rare - apparently, Apple wanted to repeat the emotions of old Vertu phones: so that the impeccable weighty body complemented the corresponding rich sound. The result is a gadget that can catch both kinesthetic and visual, no matter how you perceive the world around you, the iPhone X has something to offer you.

Wireless charging is supported, but this is an ideal overnight option - charging is slow, I just left it overnight and took a charged smartphone in the morning. But competitors cannot offer anything comparable in the coming years - where they tell you about the best camera, just remember about iOS. The iPhone X has done a very good job of smoothing it. Consider, looking at reviews and looking at the work of programs, one should take into account that many utilities have not been updated yet, Telegram is buggy, banking programs look funny, in the Liters reader the protrusion from above cuts the line. Why it happens? Yes, because the smartphone comes out on November 3, then there will be updates - which does not prevent the reviewers from carrying various nonsense. All this together allows you to qualitatively repeat your emotions "digitally", which is not yet available in other consumer technology and what will happen next in iPhones is anyone's guess. Each iPhone X buyer will find something of his own in his smartphone, as happened / will happen in our company. Valya, smiling, takes hundreds of photos and videos, Seryozha has something to criticize, but at the same time, he will also like the photos, Sasha appreciated the display. Ilya is delighted with the frames, Zhenya is crazy about the video (I think so), Vanya is still snapping and processing a thousand frames. Dima will walk with X, because - well, how else; probably the same can be said about Natasha, and about Ilya, and about me, so I want to try different headphones and fill in FLAC. The toy was a success and, of course, Apple introduced the iPhone X just in time - in three years we will say that the "body" of X is already fed up, let's do something else, as much as you can repeat, WELL, BUT IT IS JUST A COSMOS OF FRIENDS.
