How to use the power bank charger. External chargers (Power Bank)

Owners of modern mobile devices very often face the problem of a discharged battery. And it happens at the most inappropriate moment for this. The law of meanness works, as soon as you forgot to charge your smartphone or tablet, as soon as you need to either call or find important information. Or, for example, you go on a trip where, in principle, there is no way to charge your mobile device. But now this is absolutely not a problem, since you can buy an alternative device - an external battery Power Bank, which will keep your smartphone or tablet working anywhere, wherever you are.

In our store provided.

The owner of such a device will no longer need to worry that his smartphone will refuse to work due to a discharged battery. However, those who have just bought a portable battery or are just going to do so have a number of questions regarding its correct operation, how to charge a portable Power Bank charger?

So how to properly charge your Power Bank

Charging a portable battery is very simple, just like a smartphone or tablet using any charger - mains, car, or using a USB / microUSB cable, connecting it to a laptop and PC.

In order for a portable charger to serve, it must be properly operated for as long as possible. Particular attention should be paid to the first charging of the battery. After the Power Bank is fully discharged, it must be charged with a cord until it is fully charged, which will be indicated by the LED indicator. Charging the Power Bank itself is no more difficult than any mobile device. To do this, use a charger from your own smartphone or tablet. Why not a native charger, many may ask. This is very easily explained, in the package with the Power Bank, so as not to increase its cost, most often a network charger is not supplied, the one that you have with your mobile device is enough, but they are identical. After you connect the Power Bank to the charger, the indicators showing the charge level will start blinking on it, as they charge, their number will increase, when all light up, it means that the Power Bank is fully charged. Modern Power Banks, like most mobile devices, are equipped with an automatic shutdown function. This prevents them from being overcharged and thereby increases the service life of the device. You can safely charge your portable battery overnight without worrying about overcharging. The time to fully charge the Power Bank is approximately 4-6 hours.

In order for your portable battery to reach its full capacity and last longer, several full charges / discharges are required. The same manipulation will also come in handy when the Power Bank becomes discharged faster. By performing a charge / discharge cycle, you will rewrite the battery stats and it will work like new. It is also worth knowing that such charge cycles should be performed only when necessary. In normal use, try not to completely discharge the battery, as this will shorten its service life. You need to charge the Power Bank when it still has about 15-20% of the charge. In those batteries that have a 100% indication function, this is of course much easier to do, since the charge level is constantly visible, and in batteries with LED indication, you should try to determine this parameter approximately.

In the event that the Power Bank is not planned to be used for a long time, it is recommended to discharge it by half and store it in this state - this will extend its service life.

In order to charge your Power Bank, you can also use car chargers, and always have not only a charged phone, but also a Power Bank.

Power Bank 2600 - universal charger

Hello my dear readers! Today I will talk about the Power Bank 2600 portable charger. A mobile phone for me is a universal and irreplaceable thing. During the day, with its help, I listen to music, read books, go online, watch videos, and do much more.

Unfortunately, this quickly depletes the battery, so very often my phone turns off at the most inopportune moment when I need to make an important call. One friend, knowing about my problem, decided to help me out and gave me a Power Bank charger. Previously, I did not even know about the existence of such a device, but, by the way, it is very useful and convenient. Now I'll tell you more about it.

My review of the Power Bank 2600 universal charger

What is Power Bank

This device, despite its small size, is equipped with a sufficiently powerful built-in battery, which makes it a reliable external power source for many electronic devices actively used in everyday life.

The device was packed in a small cardboard case with a transparent plastic window. Along with the device, the kit included additional adapters and instructions.

The charger looks like a small keychain, it even has a special ring. Such a keychain fits easily into a small handbag or even a pocket. The Power Bank is distinguished from the usual keychain by the presence of two ports - USB and micro USB. Also, the device is equipped with an LED indicator that shows the battery level.

Its shape is rectangular, the body is made of high quality plastic. The Power Bank comes in several colors, with a choice of neutral white and black, or more cheerful yellow, pink, blue and green.

Device dimensions:

  • Length - 10.6 cm;
  • Width - 2.6 cm;
  • Height - 2.6 cm.

Weight - 72.5 g.

Specifications:

  • Battery: polymer lithium, capacity - 2600 mAh;
  • Input: voltage - 5 V, current - 1000 mA;
  • Output: voltage - DC 5 V, current - 1500 mA.

What devices is Power Bank suitable for

Due to the fact that the vast majority of modern electronic devices are equipped with standard USB ports, Power Bank is a universal device. Thus, it can be used to charge:

  • mobile phone;
  • digital camera;
  • video camera;
  • the tablet;
  • player;
  • GPS navigator;
  • game console;
  • many other devices.

In order to ensure the complete safety of expensive electronic devices when charging with the Power Bank, this device is equipped with six protection functions:

  • from short circuit;
  • from energy overload;
  • from increased charge;
  • overvoltage;
  • from recharge;
  • from overheating.

The high quality circuitry of the charger prevents energy wastage and ensures that the charger is 90% energy efficient. Thus, the Power Bank battery is enough to fully charge the smartphone battery several times. Obviously, the presence of such a device allows you to forget about situations when a mobile phone runs out of power and turns off in the middle of the day.

How to use the device

Before you start using the Power Bank, you need to charge its battery. To do this, using the supplied adapter, you need to connect the device to a personal computer, through which charging will take place. So I did. After connecting to the computer, the LED indicator on the device lit up, which meant that the battery was charging. When it was fully charged, the indicator went out. The whole process lasted a little over two hours.

The Power Bank can then be used to recharge your smartphone or other electronic devices. To do this, you just need to connect a portable charger to them using a cable with a USB connector and wait for the device to fully charge, this may take from one to several hours, depending on the battery capacity.

The Power Bank can also act as a pocket flashlight. To turn on the light, you need to press and hold the power button.

I am very glad that thanks to a friend I got this wonderful charger. I attached it to the keys and always carry it with me just in case, and it has helped me out more than once. Now I can listen to music and watch movies on my smartphone as much as I like, without fear that it will be discharged and I will be left without connection. The device also saves me if I forgot to charge my phone at home. It is very comfortable!

And Power Bank is simply irreplaceable in a variety of trips or on a country vacation. With it, you can charge your phone, camera or tablet at any time, so I don't have to worry that I'll get bored without music or won't be able to take a photo for memory.

Greetings to all readers of my blog! We continue to disassemble portable batteries. The cost of a good Power bank is significant enough to put up with a quick downtime. To extend the life of your device, you need to know how to charge the power bank correctly. We will talk about this today, as well as analyze the situation when the Power bank is not charging: what to do, how to identify the cause and try to eliminate it yourself.

Charging the power bank correctly

To start a new turn, the bank must be "pumped". First of all, we charge the battery to 100% (as a rule, you should get a portable device with 70 - 80% charge). It is not possible to pre-discharge new modern batteries as previously recommended. Next, be sure to carry out 2 - 3 cycles of full discharge and charge up to 100%. Such manipulations will "swing" the maximum possible battery capacity.

The next important recommendation on how to properly charge a power bank is to always "fill up" the "energy storage" at 100% and do not immediately disconnect from the network for "drip" charging. It is carried out at a weak current strength, after the 100% indicator on the case lights up. The beginning and end of this process can be traced with a USB tester. When a value of 0.1 - 0.05 A appears on its display instead of 1 - 1.5 A, it means that "drip" charging has begun. The battery will be charged to the maximum if you wait until it is zeroed.

Do not allow your portable battery to run out of power all the time. It must be connected to the power supply when the critical threshold of 20% is reached. At the same time, there are two ways to charge the device: from a stationary 220 V electrical outlet via a power adapter and from a computer via a USB cable. The first method is the fastest and most preferred. At the same time, there is a concept of battery calibration, which implies its complete discharge. Such a calibration should be carried out every 3 months to prevent various malfunctions.

The battery charge level is displayed on the LED indicator (the more lights are on, the higher the charge), or on the display (shows the exact number in percent). It is always recommended to let the power bank "nourish" completely. Short-term recharges are harmful to a lithium-ion battery, despite assurances from manufacturers that there is no memory effect. Regrettably, there is such an effect, and such irresponsible handling of the device will lead to the impossibility of charging it 100% in the future.

Another frequent question from buyers - how much do you need to charge an external battery? There is no universal answer for all models, since the time depends on the energy intensity, the presence of an additional fast charging function, the current in the network (more precisely, on the value that your adapter gives out). If we talk about 5 or 10 thousand units for smartphones, then they require an average of 12 hours of recharge. High-quality 20,000 mAh laptop models are equipped with a fast charging function and require surprisingly only 3-4 hours. You will, of course, find more detailed and accurate information regarding the purchased device in the user manual or in the operating instructions.

What should I do if my portable battery won't charge?

When we connect the power bank to an electric current source, the indicator immediately lights up and flashes until the process is completed. At the same time, there is no need to constantly wake up at night in order to timely disconnect the charged gadget from the network. Most of the models have overcharge protection and will automatically shut down when the battery is full.

But what if the real situation does not follow the manufacturer's scenario? Why did the external battery, which served for a single month, suddenly stop charging? The most common reason, according to service center specialists, is a broken wire in the port socket. As a result, you plug the cable into the connector and no current flows. There is one way to fix such a malfunction - to solder the contacts.

If the device (especially ordered via the Internet) does not even turn on during the first inspection, then most likely it is completely discharged, so you first need to put it on charge.

Many users face such a problem when the power bank takes too long to charge (for example, 10 hours with a capacity of less than 5 mAh).

You need to look for the problem in the following:

  • low-quality mains adapter, giving a low output current (less than 1 A);
  • thin cable that loses a large percentage of current;
  • malfunction of the controller;
  • the contacts in the connector go away (the current flows in, then stops flowing);
  • poor-quality assembly (when it is easier to throw it out and not suffer).

You can try to eliminate some of the reasons yourself (take another adapter with a good cable, disassemble and solder the broken contacts), however, without certain basic knowledge, it is better to contact a specialist.

Very often, a cheap power bank from a dubious manufacturer not only charges slowly, but also discharges disproportionately quickly. There can be two options: either the capacity of the batteries is disgracefully lower than the declared one (and instead of the expected 12,000 you actually have about 6,000 mAh), or one or several parallel-connected batteries inside the case turned out to be poorly soldered and simply came off (as a result there is a noticeable loss of capacity).

Power bank must ensure our comfort and mobility (this is its essence), but for this we must take care of it and not forget about the rules of operation: store for a long time with a charge level of about 50 - 80%, prevent prolonged hypothermia, do not leave in room with high humidity. Before proceeding with the elimination of any malfunctions, you should assess all the risks (especially when working with Chinese counterfeits). I hope I helped you understand the issues of charging the power bank in order to avoid its premature failure. About what to do if the power bank does not charge the phone,

If you want to be aware, I am in instagram, where I post new articles that appear on the site.

Thanks for attention! Until next time on my blog. Best regards, Rostislav Kuzmin.

For a long time, mankind has stepped over the line beyond which life without mobile phones, tablets, and other pleasant and useful gadgets is not possible. And a smartphone battery that has sat down so inappropriately can destroy not only personal life, but also question career growth. In this case, an external charger is just a panacea for all ills! Convenient and compact battery easily fits in your pocket, purse. It can be taken to work, on a business trip or on vacation.

External Power Bank is your "magic wand"

An additional charger of this type is a portable external battery that you can connect to at a critical moment. It is able to store and store energy for a long time. The Power Bank has a socket for powering from a regular 220 volt power outlet for self-recharging or a solar battery. And also USB connectors for connection.

Key indicators of Power Bank

External batteries differ in the following parameters:

  • power;
  • dimensions;
  • self-charge options;
  • charge level indicators;
  • the number of USB connectors;
  • a set of adapters for connections;
  • design.

In other words: their power ranges from 2200 to 23000 mAh, depending on the modification of the gadget. Dimensions range from the size of a small lighter to a large smartphone. Own charging can be of three types: solar battery, 220 volt network or combined. Indicator showing the charge level - digital or LED. The minimum number of connection connectors is one. The maximum depends on the capacity and battery model. The set with the power bank includes a set of adapters with various connectors for connection. And the last thing is design. It all depends on the manufacturer's imagination.

Choosing an external charger

To correctly navigate when choosing a Power Bank, you need to clearly define its task. Will you only charge your smartphone or want to buy a more versatile device. In order to use it to provide power to the tablet, camcorder, and other digital media. This affects the choice of power. An important factor is the number of possible recharges. It is more or less clear here - the lower the capacity, the fewer the possibilities.

To independently calculate the number of expected battery charges, divide its capacity by your battery. The result is multiplied by the average conversion rate when connected (0.85). We get the quantity we are interested in.

Smartphone out of power and no power outlet nearby? The situation is frequent - modern smartphones quickly sit down if used to the fullest. This is where portable charger comes in! But how to make the right choice so as not to be left without communication and entertainment? Let's show you what I chose and what problems I ended up with.

Traditionally, a little theory first.

The most popular power source today is a lithium battery. They are everywhere - in phones, cameras, laptops ... Even disposable e-cigarettes have a rechargeable lithium battery.

The most common format for lithium is the 18650 (18 * 650mm). These "banks" are used in most laptop batteries.
Well, since laptops are one of the most popular products in the world, manufacturers are striving to improve this particular type of battery.
This makes the 18650 ideal for flashlights, e-cigarettes, and portable chargers.

Lithium batteries have their drawbacks - they do not like it if they are very badly discharged and deteriorate with uncontrolled charging. Therefore, in ordinary stores you will not find "naked" lithium batteries, they are built into devices or sold with a charge / discharge controller. But no one bothers you to find your used laptop battery and remove the batteries from it. Their condition may be far from ideal, but a freebie.

It would seem, where does the battery from laptops, if portable chargers are sold ready-made and often non-separable? It is enough to type the cherished words in the search - and here they are, full of bright colors:

Let's use our brains. The average consumer, of course, will never disassemble the charging and will not think about replacing the batteries. Therefore, the manufacturer can shove anything there - from low-quality Chinese batteries to the same used ones from laptops. But even if there are high-quality batteries in the power bank, they do not last forever - a couple of years and into the trash. Therefore, the possibility of replacing the power source is simply necessary, otherwise the device may turn out to be "disposable" Try to find a replacement battery like this:

I am used to taking everything in China, I recommend it to you too - we cannot find normal things for a reasonable price. More than two years have passed since my review, during which time I ordered dozens of Chinese goods, visited many sites. There were cases of deception, and there were very long delivery times. Loved it most for the very fast delivery and many free shipping options. There I bought a few of my favorite exercises.

All of them have the ability to replace the battery and, what is important, are supplied "empty", that is, the batteries are purchased separately.

Familiar to all flashlight lovers, the ML-102 is very easy to use. Just insert the battery and ... that's it. There are no buttons, no charge level indicators. I connected the phone via USB - the charge went, connected it to the PC via microUSB - the battery itself started charging. The declared current limit is 1.2A

The blue LED indicates the current consumption of USB current. The brighter, the more voracious the device is connected.

Red turns green after the battery is fully charged

The insides are as simple as the charging itself:

We connect the consumer to 1A and see that the charging is doing an excellent job:

With a discharged battery, charging until the last tries to deliver the requested current, then it goes out:

My conclusion: the best charger is 1 * 18650. It is extremely simple and therefore convenient. Due to the independence of the charging and conversion circuits, you can simultaneously charge it and connect something to it. But if you have a completely discharged smartphone, you will not be able to "squeeze the last juice" out of charging - it will not be able to deliver the required current and will be cut off.

Of the minuses - not designed for protected batteries. They just don't go there, although some still manage to push them into it, modifying the design with a knife and a file. There is no charge level indicator. It is constantly on and in standby mode (the blue diode is barely noticeable, but glows).

This charger is already larger, three batteries fit into it. Some versions also have a built-in flashlight (it shines really well). There is a button and a charge indicator. During use, the indicator alternately blinks red / green / yellow, when charging the internal batteries, it blinks first red, then orange, then green - depending on the charge level. The declared current is 1A

Everything is not very good inside - the LED has no cooling, some parts are not soldered. In the photo, details from versions with and without a flashlight:

At the moment, I don't have such a charge on my hands, so I won't see the tests.

From the conclusion - I didn't really like it. Although this device has three batteries, all three channels are independent! This is good in the sense that the batteries will not affect each other, but it is bad that at the same time energy is taken from only one of them. If none is able to deliver the requested current, the device is turned off. Parallel connected accumulators could produce the required current by “common efforts”.

What I like is it is convenient to change the batteries. He took off the cover, changed the battery and you're done. Made really convenient, there are special notches for extraction. There is a lot of space, protected batteries are also placed, the springs are soft, they can be inserted easily.

Also, when used, the indicator just blinks. It is impossible to find out the charge level without disconnecting the charged device. The power supply stops immediately after the cable is disconnected, there is no delay. Yes, and you can not turn off the charging during operation.

Also for three batteries, but not triangular, but flat. Instead of a three-color indicator, there are four blue LEDs. But there are already two USB ports, 1A and 2.1A. When used, the current charge level is displayed every 5 seconds. The charge level is also visible when charging.

Everything is kept on screws, it is inconvenient to disassemble. And it is also difficult to assemble, the springs strive to push the plug:

It also handles consumption of 1A (supports 2.1A, but I did not find anything that eats so much):

And it turns off in the same way if you connect a gluttonous device with a low charge level:

and then instantly chopped off

The bottom line is a good 3 * 18650 charger, maybe one of the best. Full metal body. The button is recessed so as not to be pressed accidentally. All batteries stand in parallel, thereby increasing the efficiency. It can deliver more current, therefore, it has two USB ports, one of which is 2.1 A. Indicators work both when in use and when charging from the mains.

Of the minuses - it also cannot be turned off with a button, the button is only for turning it on. It turns off itself, after 10 seconds of inactivity. I have already mentioned the impossibility of quickly changing batteries and not very convenient assembly with screws.

Also for 1 battery, like ML-102. Has a button, 5 indicators, supports a "special" mode for the iPhone. Includes adapters for various phones and a flashlight. There are no specifications for the supplied current.

Alas, I could not disassemble it, so we will not see the insides. The plastic is embedded very tightly.

Under the same conditions, the charging was able to deliver only 0.66A in normal mode and 0.87 in special mode (which is for iPhone):

The special mode only turns on for a couple of minutes, so do not flatter yourself with high values

Interestingly, it can work even with a highly discharged battery (possibly sagging in voltage):

This is observed only in the "special" mode, but for emergencies it will do!

Summing up: assembled conscientiously, it has been working for two years. The standard cable was of poor quality, I soldered a new one. Charging is unhurried, but more efficient - it will work to the end, limiting the output current. The only one of the monitored, which can be turned off with a button during operation!

Of the minuses - only one USB connector. Through it, charging from the network takes place. So without a special cable (USB - USB), it won't be able to charge it itself.

What conclusion can be drawn from the options considered? There are no universal things. To each his own. It is more convenient for me to put a 1 * 18650 power bank and several batteries in a backpack. Someone is more comfortable with Ruinovo - screwed it up and forgot it until you had to change the batteries. In general, I told you all the possible problems when choosing a portable charger - make no mistake.

But I missed one moment. Batteries! Not to get them out of laptops? We need high-quality ones so that such a charge will last for a long time. And the Chinese strive to slip cheap stuff under the guise of a normal battery:

First of all, remember - there are no 18650 batteries with a capacity greater than 3400 mAh. And even those are achieved only in non-standard operating modes (which are absent in standard power banks). Standard capacity 2200 mAh, higher quality - 2600 mAh

Also, do not take Chinese brands (UltraFire, TrustFire, FandyFire ... *** Fire) - there is no way to understand where the original is, and where is a fake, you can run into batteries with a capacity of 1000 mAh and even 250 mAh instead of the specified 2600. (see photo above )

If you still want to save money, pay attention to the signatures about the real capacity of the batteries on the site:

If the real capacity is less than 2200 mAh, you better do not take it. It's not worth it.

Hello. Today we'll talk about a fairly well-known device. The twenty-first century is the age of information technology. Portable devices that constantly lack power. Especially smartphones based on the Android operating system are very power hungry. The browser alone uses about 80% of the battery capacity of a smartphone. And, as you know, the Internet is now used very often. Even better to say - constantly! See the weather, the dollar exchange rate, reply to messages on social networks, check the kidney, order pizza to work, order a taxi, book a hotel room - this is not a complete list of the purpose of a smartphone as an intermediary between the user and the Internet. In such cases, you cannot go far from the outlet. And if there is no access to the outlet ...

In general, where there is a problem, a solution to the problem is born, and in this case it was proposed to assemble a portable charger, it is also an external battery, it is also a powerbank (power bank).

A kind of portable charger for replenishing the battery of your smartphone.

What is Power Bank?

Translated into Russian, Power Bank is an energy bank. That is, an array of batteries assembled in one case. There are several spellings of this word Powerbank and Power Bank, as well as external battery for smartphone / tablet, mobile battery and autonomous charger.

To put it simply, the Power Bank is a plug in your pocket.

What is Power Bank for?

Housing external charger has a universal output (USB) and an input (most often microUSB). This means that Power Bank can energize everything that is connected via USB, from smartphones, tablets, navigators and players to consoles and walkie-talkies.

On the market today there is a huge selection of Power Bank's of different companies, capacities, designs, sizes, reliability. How do you choose what is right for you?

How to choose a Power Bank?
