PIRELLI ICE ZERO

This tire is the first studded tire in the P Zero range, in which Pirelli engineers have drawn on 40 years of experience in rallying. One of the keys to high performance is the "double" stud technology, and the high frequency of the sipes provides reliable grip on snow surfaces. The stability of the tire's performance is achieved through the use of an innovative rubber compound that maintains a constant structure under various temperature conditions. YOKOHAMA iceGUARD Stud iG55

The tire, in the development of which new technologies were used, is intended for both passenger cars and SUVs. The original tread pattern, including a central rib, volumetric sipes and diagonal micro grooves, optimizes contact patch and traction. The design of the shoulder blocks also improves traction, while the wide sloped grooves improve water and slush drainage. The cleat is shaped like a flange and a core that enhances the edge effect, which improves grip on ice and helps keep the cleats in the tire. The firmness of the contact between the stud and the tire is also facilitated by the optimized tread hardness. The stud pattern not only enhances traction on ice, but also reduces noise. Particular attention was paid to the composition of the rubber compound. The water-absorbent compound, also used for iceGUARD friction models, effectively absorbs water film, while the elastic polymer and high micro-particle density optimized tread hardness and stabilized the tire's dry behavior. The rubber compound also contains silica and orange oil.

YOKOHAMA iceGUARD Studless G075

It is the first non-studded SUV tire in the history of the iceGUARD brand. Particular attention in the development of the rubber compound was paid to the possibility of the composition absorbing the water film formed when driving on ice. In addition, iceGUARD Studless G075 rubber compound is softer at low temperatures for better grip. The new tread pattern increases the contact patch and focuses on a high edge effect on ice surfaces. Diagonal micro-slats provide confident grip on ice from the first kilometers of tire operation. Compared to the G073, the braking distance on ice is 23% shorter, the rolling resistance is 5% lower and the noise level is reduced by more than 2 dB.
