Video and audio drivers are especially difficult (in the first case - problems with games, in the second - no sound). I think that is why there has always been an interest in programs that allow you to update drivers without the direct participation of the user (so that you press 1 button and that's it ...).
Actually, in this article I decided to collect a dozen of such programs that will help save time and nerves in case of problems with drivers.

If you download it in advance, then later you will be able to run DPS and install drivers on any PC that does not have Internet (for example, sometimes it happens that the computer is connected to the network - but the network card does not work due to the lack of a driver (which must be downloaded ☺). - the second is a regular program like Driver Booster. You also start, then DPS scans the PC, and then downloads all the necessary drivers from the Internet.

What distinguishes it from the previous program (DPS) is that the offline version is distributed not as an ISO image (which requires additional programs to open), but as a simple folder with an EXE file - they launched it and the drivers were updated. Very comfortably!
By the way, Snappy Driver Installer also has a compact version, which is only a few megabytes in size. But it requires an internet connection to work.

An official utility from Intel that will help update drivers for any products of this company: processor, network devices, disks, and more. Compatible with all versions of Windows, completely in Russian.
After launching the utility, it will automatically recognize the hardware and find all the necessary software for its correct operation. Installation of drivers is fully automatic.
In general, if you use Intel products, of course, I recommend using the native utility ☺. The rest, it is unlikely to be useful ...
AMD Driver Autodetect
These are tools for automatically finding the video driver for AMD products. After starting, the utility will automatically detect your video card, system and other characteristics and provide a link to download the optimal driver.
The utility is completely in Russian, works in the Windows environment. The program, by the way, can be used not only to search for a driver, but also to update an already installed one (you must agree that it is much easier to press one button in the program than to independently climb through the wilds of official sites, where there is a mountain of all the semi-necessary information ☺).
NVIDIA Update
Official utility for NVIDIA users. After running the utility, it will scan all your hardware on your PC, assess if there are drivers for them, and offer to update them (if necessary). By the way, in the settings profiles, you can set how often updates will be checked (whether to allow the use of beta versions, whether to notify pop-up messages in the tray).
By the way, starting with the R275 drivers, NVIDIA Update updates not only the drivers, but also the game profiles automatically (including SLI profiles). I will also add that on the official website (the link is given above) the step-by-step configuration of the program is scheduled (although there is nothing special to configure there ☺).
Driver genius
A very popular program for working with drivers. It is quite multifunctional: it can automatically find and update to the latest driver version, create backups of already installed drivers, restore lost ones, delete old and unnecessary ones. It's quite easy to use: after starting the program, it will automatically collect information about your PC, hardware, evaluate the system and offer an update option. Supports Russian.

How to solve this puzzle? That's right, download 3DP Net, which is only about 100 MB in size (you can use your smartphone), and run it - the utility will automatically select the driver and you will have a network. Recommend!

I want to note that the drivers in the utility are displayed in a convenient list (in order), which can be saved or printed. The drivers in the backup also lie carefully, each in a hotel folder, the names of which are identical to your devices.

A simple and reliable program to remove absolutely any driver in the system clean! Be careful with her, because it does not limit you very much in your possibilities. It helps a lot in cases when it is not possible to remove any driver "stuck" in the system (or you do not see it and cannot find it, but it is ☺).
Before deleting it, you can create a backup copy of all "firewood" (just in case) ... The program works in all versions of Windows, Russian is supported.
DDU
A simple and effective utility for completely removing the video driver from the system (I think many have encountered the problem of updating the video driver, due to the fact that the new one was not installed until the old one was completely removed). This is exactly what DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) can handle.
The program supports all software for video cards from manufacturers AMD, Intel, NVIDIA (including various registry keys, components, folders, etc.). I would also like to note that after DDU is running, your system does not have any traces of the presence of the old driver.
Display Driver Uninstaller has three modes of operation: the first is a simple removal of the driver and restarting the PC / laptop; the second is the usual deletion (reboot is on your conscience ☺); the third is to remove and turn off the PC.
By the way, the utility keeps a log, which records all the actions that you perform. After all, all this economy is not enough just to connect to a computer or even insert it inside the system unit. It is necessary for Windows 10 to accept the new hardware as native and be able to work with it normally.
Drivers are a kind of "translators" from a pro-slave language to a working language: each manufacturer writes these programs (and most importantly, constantly improves and updates them) for all their devices. There will be no drivers - and Windows simply will not be able to work with this piece of hardware.
To see a list of all drivers installed on the system, right-click on the icon in the lower left corner of the screen, and then select the Device Manager command from the menu that appears. If you see an exclamation mark opposite some item in this menu - the driver is not installed, it does not work correctly and needs updating.
When installing, Windows independently determines the drivers for the vast majority of devices, and only in some cases you will need to download and install the driver separately, from the hardware manufacturer's website. There is nothing complicated in this procedure: the drivers are installed as usual programs.
Updating drivers
So what drivers do we need to update?
Video card. This package must be installed first, because of all the computer fraternity, the video card differs, perhaps, by the most quarrelsome character. If you fail to serve it on time, it will refuse to work itself and will pull the whole computer along. Therefore, even if your card (for example, based on a chipset from NVIDIA)
Windows recognized it on its own and even installed drivers for it from its own downloads - don't be lazy, go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver package.
By the way, drivers for video cards are updated very often - usually once a month.
You can find drivers for video cards on the sites:
- NVIDIA (GeForce series video cards) - NVIDIA.ru;
- ATI Catalyst (AMD / ATI chipsets) - radeon.ru.
Drivers for video cards are built into Windows itself (which also knows how to automatically update via Windows 10 Update), but new versions appear much more often on the above sites. By the way, the latest versions of driver packages from NVIDIA and AMD are also able to update themselves without waiting for user intervention. There are special utilities for updating other important drivers - for example, for chipsets and Intel integrated graphics, you can use the online system at downloadcenter.intel.com
Built-in sound. Let me remind you again that drivers for sound modules built into motherboards (HD Audio Codec Driver) can be found on the realtek.com website.
You may need to update the driver for the network card and WiFi module (they can be found on the motherboard manufacturer's website). I personally highly recommend doing this, if only because the standard network card driver in Windows does not provide the maximum data transfer rate over the local network. For example, on a freshly installed Windows with a standard network driver, I can transfer files to my network drive at a speed of no more than 10 Mb / s. But as soon as you went to the Realtek website and downloaded a brand new driver, the speed increased almost five times! And this, you see, is a lot.
Automatic driver installation
But we will most likely have to install the drivers for the following devices from scratch.
A printer. Almost all printers are perfectly recognized by Windows at the first connection, and the system automatically installs drivers for them. But I do not advise you to rely on them: in this case, you will not get the lion's share of proprietary diagnostic and printing tools. Do not be lazy, go to the manufacturer's website and download the branded driver!
Separate sound card. A rare, even exotic beast in our era of integrated sound. Therefore, most likely, your separate "sound" from Asus or Creative Windows simply does not recognize.
It is possible that there are other devices on your system that you forgot to mention and which, nevertheless, will also require your attention. To do this, immediately after starting work with Windows, go to the Device Manager and see if all components are recognized and functioning correctly.
By the way, you still need to choose the right driver for your hardware, depending on which version of Windows you are working with. For example, tossing a driver for a 64-bit system on a 32-bit version of Windows is useless. But the reverse trick takes place: Windows 64-bit quietly eats drivers for a 32-bit system. But this is an extreme option and not very desirable, you can use it only if 64-bit drivers for your hardware do not exist in nature. The same applies to drivers for Windows 8: most likely, your "ten" of them "eat" for a sweet soul, but it's better to look for newer versions.
In a word, do not be surprised if during the driver installation Windows "pleases" you with a warning window - your drivers, they say, are not certified and neither Windows, nor Microsoft Corporation, nor Bill Gates personally bear any responsibility for their performance. Keep working calmly and don't panic.
After installing the driver, try to restart the computer - now at least one question mark in the list of devices should disappear ... “Conflicting” devices, the names of which in the list have an exclamation mark, can simply be deleted (to do this, right-click on the device name and select the corresponding item of the Context Menu). It is hoped that after restarting Windows will install this device correctly.
Driver installers
You can always find new versions of drivers on the Internet on the page of the manufacturer of your components. These addresses are usually listed in the documentation for the devices, and you can find a small list in the appendix to this book. It is most reasonable to download the necessary drivers to a special folder on your hard drive and update them from time to time.
Well, what if it so happens that you need to install Windows on some old computer or laptop, for which you cannot find drivers? Well, there is a recipe for this case: immediately after installing Windows 10, download and install the DriverPack Solution program (drp.su/ru/).
It will allow you to install drivers or update for all hardware, just do not rush to press the automatic update button, but switch to "expert mode", otherwise the program will happily install a bunch of unnecessary software from Yandex, Chinese antivirus and other advertising tinsel on your computer. In expert mode, you have to update the drivers one at a time, but this is not a huge security price.

Driver Certification
It is known that one of the most common reasons for the "crash" of the operating system was precisely the drivers of various devices - the errors contained in them could throw the entire system into a stupor. In an effort to overcome this scourge, Microsoft introduced its own certification system for drivers from various manufacturers, which, in theory, was supposed to completely solve the problem of driver "conflicts". Indeed, certified drivers work reliably and practically do not cause problems. However, their number, alas, is not very large, and for many devices there are no certified drivers at all! In addition, certification is a slow process, and while a specific version of the drivers receives the coveted certificate, dozens of modified and corrected “descendants” of it will already appear.
If the driver is not installed
If the driver is not installed and the system categorically refuses to install the driver for your device, as "not signed", that is, not approved by Microsoft, and there is no other at hand and on the site of the hardware manufacturer, well, you can force the system to be more accommodating by disabling control of driver signatures in general. Dangerous, but sometimes there is no other way out. Do it like this: when you restart your computer, press the F8 button - and if you do it at the right time, immediately after the motherboard logo disappears from the screen, the Boot Menu will open in front of you. One of its points just allows you to disable the verification of the "signature".

"Backup from database", that is, a backup copy of drivers for your specific computer will be created from the DriverPack Solution database.
"Backup from system" will allow you to create a backup copy of the drivers that were already installed in the Windows operating system on your computer. After clicking on the appropriate button, after a while, the backup of the drivers will be created in the form of an ".EXE" file. By running this file on your computer, you can install the drivers, or restore the drivers on your computer.
In the "Miscellaneous" tab you can look at the list of all installed drivers on your computer. When you move the mouse cursor over the corresponding driver, a tooltip will open.
After clicking on the "Diagnostics" item, you can look at the characteristics of your computer and perform various actions using the program: RAM test, defragmentation, cleaning, and also perform antivirus scan.
The Programs tab contains programs, you can install the programs located there on your computer. This is optional, these programs are not related to installing drivers on your computer.
In the left part of the program window there is a side panel, on the panel there are control items with which you can control the program. If you check the box next to the "Settings" item, then you can activate the "Expert Mode".
In the process of writing this article, I updated all the drivers on my computer using the DriverPack Solution program.
Find laptop drivers
To install or update drivers for a laptop, you can use the official website of the program, where you can find the necessary drivers for a specific model. To do this, click on the "Laptop Drivers" button on the drp.su website.
After clicking on the name of the laptop manufacturer, a page with specific models will open. Here you will need to select a laptop model, and then follow the link for a specific laptop model.
Below the device name is the device number (hardware ID). Knowing this number, you can easily find the driver you need.
If you do not know the device ID of your computer, you can find it using Device Manager.
Find drivers in DriverPack Solution
To search for a driver for a specific device, you will need to open the "Device Manager". In the "Device Manager" window, you need to select a specific device, and then right-click on it. In the context menu, select the "Properties" item.
Next, the "Properties: specific device" window opens, in this window open the "Details" tab, and in the "Property" item, you will need to select the "Equipment ID" item. In the "Value" field you will see the device ID number.
Then enter this number in the search box, and then click on the "Find driver" button. The search will be performed by the device's DevID.

The free DriverPack Solution program is designed to automatically install drivers on a user's computer. When using the full version of DriverPack Solution Full, a few mouse clicks are enough to install or update the drivers installed on your computer.
