If you look only at the characteristics of the display, then, in general, it looks pretty good, but you shouldn’t trust just the numbers.

When I first turned on this tablet, I got the impression that it was not FHD, but HD resolution. The fact is that small fonts look slightly blurry on this screen, and the same applies to the overall impression of the image. Then it turned out that in addition to the factory film, a protective film was already installed on the device, and it was so good that I didn’t notice it right away. Only a small, barely noticeable bubble in the corner gave it away. The film turned out to be quite thick, but even after removing it, the image quality did not improve in any way, so if you buy this model, you don’t have to remove the protective film.

There is no oleophobic coating, so the finger glides very poorly on the glass and constantly gets stuck. By the way, glass is actually used here; I couldn’t scratch it with scissors or keys.

Apparently, there is also no anti-reflective coating; in natural and artificial light you will see your reflection, which is also a minus.

The device runs Android 4.4.4 with a couple of additions from the manufacturer. Firstly, the browser from Android 4.0 remains here, which, in my opinion, is only a plus. Secondly, another one appeared next to the on-screen buttons for taking screenshots.

Performance

Let's start with the good. The amount of RAM and internal memory corresponds to parameters that are comfortable for work. I keep repeating that the “2+16” combination is ideal for most tasks.

Everyday usage scenarios such as scrolling through desktops, checking email and running a browser also do not cause any difficulties for the tablet. Tables flip through quickly, web pages load instantly.

The tablet also performs well in most games, but the most powerful games run only at medium settings.

How we changed the touchscreen on the Supra tablet

The source of touchscreens for this device is Ali, fortunately they charge even less for it there than on ebay. The touch is very common and fits a bunch of other tablets. Only 250, 10 days of waiting - and we already have the glass. They send it in a foam box. To damage it, you have to try. And they tried, hitting or pressing something very heavy on the side surface of the box. The glass itself, of course, did not crack, but there was a dent on the train. It is located exactly in the middle of the earthen tire, so it did not cause any harm.

You can check the touchscreen, as they say, “on the fly”, by connecting it to the tablet, but not installing it in the case. It started working right away, no calibration needed to be done.

The next stage is the actual replacement. If you google it, you will find a bunch of videos where they heat up glass with a hot air gun, then use a special suction cup to stick to it and try to tear it off. We’ll do it simpler: using a well-known kit for disassembling tablets and smartphones, we’ll pry the touchscreen anywhere and carefully start removing it. First, the top film is separated, then the glass comes. There is no need to separate the film from the glass, but you should also pry off the glass. Carefully, so as not to damage the plastic frame, we walk along the glass along the perimeter - and now the touchpad is removed quickly and effortlessly. To be on the safe side, we removed the screen in advance, but this is completely optional. The glass is held in place by double-sided tape, the remnants of which are easily removed by picking up the edge and pulling. It does not tear and is removed entirely.

Before installing a new touchscreen, you should clean the plastic frame of the tablet, removing grease, sand, plasticine and glue from there. And this is not a complete list of what can be found there. The new touchscreen is also installed on double-sided tape, which is already glued to it and protected with paper.

Let's start removing the graphic key. For this model there is only one option - a hard reset, that is, a reset to factory settings. Even if you boot into safe mode, this reset again requires entering the pattern key. Information on the Internet on this matter is contradictory. On 4pda they say that a reset is not possible on this device using normal means.

How is it really? To boot into safe mode, press the power button and volume minus until it vibrates. This mode, as already mentioned, does not give anything. Unless you can enable USB debugging and use adb to call recovery. But it’s not that simple; not a single adb driver was suitable for the Supra M74AG. Has the manufacturer really removed the usual hard reset? Let's try: press the power button, then volume plus until vibration and release. What is this - a standard recovery menu. We do wipe and recovery factor settings and have a clean tablet, even with the Angry Birds game pre-installed. There was no trace left of the graphic key.
