Beeline in Belarus with a Russian sim card. How much does mobile communication cost in Belarus? "Easy roaming and international access"

We have studied the cost of services of the three main Belarusian mobile operators. Office Life introduces its Mobile Phone Index.

Today in Belarus, mobile telecommunication services are provided by three operators: "BeST", "MTS" and "Velcom"... Their total subscriber base is 11.4 million subscribers.

Velcom has been on the market for the longest time (since 1999). Today it owns 43% of the Belarusian mobile communications market. The youngest operator is Life :) with a market share of 11%. MTS has the largest subscriber base - 5.29 million subscribers, or 46% of the market.

According to BelTA.

What a foreigner needs to consider

    You need to buy SIM cards in Belarus from certified dealers. A passport is required to conclude a contract.

    In the absence of registration (including temporary registration) on the territory of Belarus, a guest from abroad can count on an extremely limited range of tariffs for all mobile operators, as a rule, without a monthly fee.

    There are many opportunities in Belarus to replenish the balance of a personal account. This can be done at the operator's corporate center, at the bank, at the post office, through mobile banking and Internet banking, by express payment card, using payment terminals, ATMs, etc.

MTS

Calls

Rate "Easy to say", as you might guess from the name, is meant for conversations. It assumes a small monthly fee and a reasonable cost of calls. The features of the tariff include profitable calls to numbers of MTS subscribers and a bonus in the form of a monthly Internet traffic package (data transmission / reception) of 50 Mb. By the way, calls to the MTS network are charged differently (the price for the first 3 minutes a day is 0.08 rubles per minute, then - 0.03 rubles), so for our calculations we took the arithmetic mean.

Tariff conditions "Easy to say"

  • the first 3 minutes a day - 0.08 rubles;
  • after 3 minutes a day - 0.03 rubles.
  • to landline, intercity telephones - 0.15 rubles;
  • to phones of other mobile operators - 0.15 rubles.

SMS (for 1 message):

  • for phones of MTS and other mobile operators - 0.02 rubles.

Obligatory payments:

  • initial advance payment - 3 rubles;
  • subscription fee - 0.59 rubles. per month.

the Internet

Within the "Internet" line, you need to pay only for connected services. Rate "Internet BIT" provides unlimited internet, which meets our needs (5 GB). There is one important "but": we will receive only 100 Mb of traffic per day at unlimited speed, the rest of the traffic - at speeds up to 256 Kbps. This is quite enough for surfing the Internet, but hardly for watching movies in high quality.

By the way, there are more profitable options for getting the desired 5 GB per month. For example, nothing prevents you from choosing a tariff with a minimum monthly fee, for example, the same “Easy to say”, and connecting the “MiniBIT” package (0.23 rubles per day). It will come out cheaper. The conditions are the same as for the "BIT" service, while the traffic per day at an unlimited speed is only 50 MB.

Terms of the tariff "Internet BIT"

Calls within the MTS network (for 1 minute):

  • to the phones of MTS subscribers - 0.19 rubles.

Calls to other networks (for 1 minute):

  • for landline, intercity telephones - 0.33 rubles;
  • to phones of other mobile operators - 0.33 rubles.

SMS (for 1 message):

  • for phones of MTS and other mobile operators - 0.06 rubles.

Obligatory payments:

  • advance payment in the amount of the monthly cost of the "BIT" service.

When it comes to MTS, one cannot fail to mention one of the company's flagship tariffs - "Unlimited"... It includes unlimited Internet and 400 minutes to all networks monthly and costs 15.9 rubles. per month.

MTS has tariffs specifically for guests of the country, for example, "Guest 7". The payment for 7 days will be 6 rubles. The tariff includes 1 GB of Internet traffic for a week, the cost of calls to other countries has been reduced. Calls to all networks - 0.07 rubles. per minute.

Velcom

Calls

Into tariff "Comfort" includes unlimited minutes in the Velcom 3G network, 100 minutes in all networks, as well as 1 GB of Internet traffic. There is a special offer for new Velcom subscribers: for the same tariff the monthly fee is 5.4 rubles. per month (discount is provided for 90 days), unlimited outgoing to all networks from Velcom 3G network plus 20 GB of Internet traffic.

Conditions of the "Comfort" tariff

  • in Velcom 3G network - the fee is included in the subscription fee;
  • in the Velcom 2G network - 0.03 rubles.

Calls to other networks (for 1 minute):

  • to phones of a fixed network (includes urban, rural and long-distance communication within Belarus) - 0.14 rubles;
  • to phones of other mobile operators - 0.14 rubles.

SMS (for 1 message):

Obligatory payments:

  • subscription fee - 10.79 rubles. per month.

the Internet

Rate "Super WEB 5" includes 5 GB of internet traffic. With further use of the Internet, the cost will be 2 kopecks for 10 MB.

Terms of tariff "Super WEB 5"

Calls in the Velcom network (for 1 minute):

  • to phones of Velcom subscribers - 0.16 rubles.

Calls to other networks (for 1 minute):

  • to fixed line telephones (includes urban, rural and long-distance communication) - 0.37 rubles;
  • to phones of other mobile operators - 0.37 rubles.

SMS (for 1 message):

  • short SMS messages - 0.04 rubles.

Obligatory payments:

  • minimum prepayment - 5 rubles;
  • subscription fee - 8.5 rubles. per month.

Velcom offers rates for Belarus guests and travelers. For example, tariff "Tourist" does not provide a monthly fee and includes a bonus when connecting 2 GB of Internet traffic and 100 minutes to all networks. At the same time, the initial payment for purchasing the PRIVET service is 15 rubles, a one-time payment for activating the tariff plan services - 9.9 rubles. The initial payment is made when the tariff plan is connected. After debiting funds for activation, the remainder of the amount is the initial balance of the subscriber and can be used to pay for PRIVET services.

Mobile communication in Belarus is identical to the Russian one: there are 3 operators. One of them is MTS, only naturally Belarusian. And here he is in the leading place, featuring the best communication quality. The second and third places are taken by Life and Velcom - the companies are practically in no way inferior in quality to MTS. They are distinguished by more conservative tariff rates.

In the article:

Despite the fact that international roaming is planned to be canceled in the country, operators are opposed to this, setting their conditions.

Where to buy a SIM card

The process of buying SIM cards in Belarus is similar to the Russian one. It is possible to acquire and activate it on your own; special knowledge is not required for this. To buy such products, you should go to a cellular salon with a passport of a citizen of the country.

Each telecom operator has its own prices for SIM cards. But the essence is the same - it is provided free of charge, and the subscriber makes an advance payment for the tariff, which will be relevant during a certain period of use. On average, the cost of a SIM card is 5-7 Belarusian rubles, which in translation into Russian is 150-200.

Mobile operators in Belarus

There are three mobile operators in the country. Each has its own visitor tariff plans, i.e. guest. And they are all worth considering separately.

MTS

How much will you have to spend on mobile communications in Belarus? More than 5 million people choose MTS as a company that provides them with communication, and this makes up 46% of the entire Belarusian market. The MTS operator in Belarus has one of the most favorable tariffs, both for local use and for roaming.

Before buying, a foreigner should know:

  1. Purchase SIM-cards in Belarus only from official sellers. In this case, an agreement is concluded and for this you need a passport;
  2. Unfortunately, without registration, a citizen of another country can only hope for an incomplete choice of tariffs provided;
  3. In the Republic of Belarus, there are many ways to deposit money into an account: bank, post office, through mobile banking, using a terminal, etc.

One of the most beneficial is the MTS “Easy to say” tariff. The first and only preliminary payment will be 3 rubles. This tariff provides for a low client payment of 0.59 rubles per month and an average cost of one call.

It differs from all other profitable calls to other MTS users. A plus will be 50 Megabytes of Internet every month. The cost of calls is different: for three minutes a day the subscriber will pay 0.08 rubles / m2, and then at 0.03 rubles / m2. For calls to landline phones, the amount will be 0.15 rubles, as well as to subscribers of other operators. One SMS will cost 0.02 rubles.

There is a tariff “Internet BIT”, which provides access to the World Wide Web without restrictions, but there is a certain usage limit. At maximum speed, you can use only up to 100 Megabytes, the rest of the time available less than 300 Kbps. This is enough for users, but the limitation may arise when you want to watch a movie in HD quality.

Another attractive option for getting 5 GB is to buy the “Easy to say” tariff and add an additional “MiniBIT” connection for 0.23 rubles per day. The conditions almost coincide with the “BIT” service, but the use of the Internet at the maximum speed is limited to 50 Megabytes. With this tariff, the conversation will cost 0.19 rubles / m. to MTS subscribers. RUB 0.33 will be the cost of one call in other ways. One message - 0.06 rubles.

Another tariff is "Unlimited" for 15.9 rubles. per month, which includes mobile Internet of Belarus without restrictions and another 400 minutes. There are special offers for tourists in Belarus. For example, “Guest 7” is intended for 7 days at a rate of 6 rubles for 1 GB of Internet and 0.07 rubles per minute for calls from all operators.

Velcom

Mobile communication in Belarus has long been supplemented by the VELKOM company. It is a recognizable corporation with a large client base that knows and realizes all the cherished desires of its consumers.

Their tariffs are distinguished by their wide range of services. One of these is the "Comfort" service package. VELKOM realizes how important the mobile Internet is now, therefore it offers an unlimited amount of time in the Velkom 3G network. 100 minutes of calls with any other operator and 1 GB of Internet traffic will also be pleasant news. The company does not forget about promotions, for example, the monthly fee for beginners will be only 5.4 rubles per month, unlimited communication time for all networks, and the amount of traffic will grow to 20 GB.

The tariff for mobile communications in Belarus has fairly simple and favorable conditions. For short messages the subscriber will pay 0.04 rubles, for a conversation with another operator the price will be 0.14 rubles from a landline and cell phone. There are obligatory payments, such as a prepayment of 5 rubles and a subscription fee of 10.79 rubles per month. The latter includes calls to the Velkom 3G network.

The company's assortment also includes a tariff that deserves special attention - "Super Web 5". The minimum prepayment in this package will be the same price as in the previous one, but the subscription fee will cost 8.5 rubles per month. But calls will cost more, 0.16 rubles for the VELKOM network and 0.37 rubles for the rest. The main advantage of this tariff is 5 GB of Internet traffic and its further payment at an affordable price - 2 kopecks per 10 MB.

For guests of Belarus, VELKOM has provided a "Tourist" package. It does not require a mandatory fee at all. For the comfort of visitors, the company offers 2 GB of traffic and 100 minutes of calls to any operators. To buy a tariff, you need to pay only 15 rubles.

You can connect services on the official website, or in special stores. Professional consultants will help you understand all the intricacies and become a part of the large VELKOM family by making the right choice of tariff.

Life

LIFE :) is the youngest provider among the largest (cellular) operators in Belarus, created in 2004. It takes the 3rd place in the rating (operators) and currently occupies 11% of the market share with a subscriber base of 1.26 million people. Provides mobile communication and Internet services, provides access to high-speed connection of the 4th generation (LTE).

Operator-provided tariffs:

  1. "Voice 2" (calls) - the subscription fee of 6.9 rubles includes unlimited within the network, 100 minutes outside the operator's coverage area and 1 GB (Internet) traffic. After 100 minutes, the subscriber is offered a tariff of 0.08 rubles per minute. Sending messages is not included in the subscription fee and is paid separately in the amount of 0.04 rubles per message.
  2. "Internet 5 GB" - a fee at a rate of 8.9 rubles provides the subscriber with 5 GB of traffic (within the network) - as indicated in the name. Calls to both LIFE subscribers and subscribers of other networks are charged at the same rate of 0.08 rubles per minute. Messages are charged for the identical amount specified in the “Voice 2” tariff. There is no subscription fee, because upon exhaustion of (Internet) traffic, a repeated payment is requested.

The total cost of the two tariffs is 15.8 rubles.

How to call Belarus from Russia

It also happens that tourists from Belarus come to Russia and they also need to make calls to their homeland. And it happens that such a need arises among the Russians. To get through, you need to understand the codes and dialing rules.

The country prefix at the international level is 375. To make a call using a landline phone, you must first "go out" to the intercity (through the eight), and then to the communication center (through 10).

When calling a cell phone, instead of +7, put + 375.

For clarity, consider examples:

  1. Call to Belarus from mobile: + 375 XXX XXX XX XX .
  2. To landline: dial 8, wait for a dial tone, dial 10 and 375, followed by the city prefix and the city phone number.

For example, consider a call to Minsk: dial 8, wait for a dial tone, then 375 and Minsk code 070, and then a city number, for example, 1345789.

Prefixes of Belarusian cities (codes of mobile operators in Belarus):

  • 070 - Minsk;
  • 0162 - Brest;
  • 015 - Grodno;
  • 02230 - Gomel;
  • 0212 - Vitebsk;
  • 0222 - Mogilev.

How to call Russia from Belarus

The code of the Russian Federation is number 7. When you call a landline phone, first you need to go international: while in Belarus, you need to dial the code 810. An example of a call to a Moscow number (area code 495): 810 7 495 456 39 97

If you are wondering how to call from Russia to Belarus to a cell phone, you do not need to enter anything else. Example: +7 951 409 89 39.

Conclusion

Choosing the best tariff for communication in Belarus, you should understand that your priority is: calls, SMS or the Internet. For someone everything is important, but for someone calls and SMS, and someone prefers only the Internet. Therefore, operators have learned to adapt to customer requirements and have developed many profitable options. Before calling Life in Belarus or any other operator, check the cost of a minute so as not to be at zero. Also, when buying a SIM card, it is appropriate to learn about the tariff and its capabilities.

It's summer, and the flow of tourists to Belarus is growing many times over right before our eyes. Every year I receive dozens of questions from my colleagues and friends from neighboring countries like: “Which Belarusian mobile operator to connect to” or “Which SIM card to buy in Belarus”. I drove through the salons of three operators and calculated the cost of services in order to resolve this issue at least until next summer.

The inputs are simple. Only a passport of a foreign state (for example, Russian) and a pile of money in hand.

The main criteria for choosing an operator are the cost and volume of mobile Internet. Telephone calls (both in Belarus and abroad) have approximately the same cost, the difference in prices of the three operators is so nondramatic that it makes no sense to pay attention to it.

Six years ago, guest rates were obscenely expensive. Over the weekend, I could spend 50-60 dollars (hello MTS!). At the moment, prices have become simpler, there is an intensification of competition between operators. It is quite realistic to keep within 10-15 dollars, subject to the duration of the trip up to a week.

Let's take three special cases of a hypothetical vacation trip to Sineokaya.

In the first case, a tourist is ready to limit himself to one gigabyte of mobile Internet traffic, mainly for checking mail and a little activity on social networks. He plans to implement all other needs through Wi-Fi.

In the second case, I suggest considering a more demanding traveler. For comfortable use of his devices, he will need 2 gigabytes of mobile Internet traffic.

In the third case, we will be faced with a real Internet spender, which requires no less than five gigabytes of mobile Internet traffic. This tourist does not deny himself anything and does not count on Wi-Fi.

Below is a simple table that clearly shows the cost of traffic packets from different operators. But I ask you not to rush immediately for an attractive price. After the table, I will briefly talk about the nuances that must be considered when choosing a telecom operator.
After all, you just want to relax and travel, and not experience communication problems at the most inopportune moment.

In the indicated cost, I immediately include hidden payments, payments for activating a service or SIM card, subscription fees and other expenses. In short, you can see the amount you have to pay without any unpleasant surprises in the communication shops. In some cases, the amount of traffic will be approximate (instead of 2 - 1.9 or 2.2 gigabytes), such tariffs - sorry. Prices are in Belarusian rubles.

1. Tariff "Communication without obligations". Immediately after activating the tariff, you get one gigabyte of traffic.
2. Tariff "Communication without obligations". Immediately after activating the tariff, you get one gigabyte of traffic + traffic package "900 MB" \u003d 1.9 gigabytes.
3. Tariff "Communication without obligations". Immediately after activating the tariff, you get one gigabyte of traffic + traffic package "3600 MB" \u003d 4.6 gigabytes.

4. Tariff "Guest". 1GB traffic package. The amount includes a hidden payment of 4650 rubles for activating a SIM card.
5. Tariff "Guest". 2GB traffic package. The amount includes a hidden payment of 4650 rubles for activating a SIM card.
6. Tariff "Guest". 5GB traffic package. The amount includes a hidden payment of 4650 rubles for activating a SIM card.

When choosing a mobile operator, it makes sense to take into account the geography of travel in Belarus. If you come for a few days solely to visit a major city, you are free to choose any company. But if your trips involve visiting natural or architectural monuments outside the cities, then the choice is reduced to velcom and MTS.

The quality of communication on the highways for almost all operators leaves much to be desired. But even in small towns, 3G is so high quality that LTE can give odds in some areas of Moscow. Any of the above tariffs will not allow you to go into the red, but the operators may not warn about the end of funds in advance. Remember to check your balance.

You can top up your account in almost any store, post office, communication stores or using a card on the Internet. MTS allows you to replenish your account via Yandex.Money. Life :) website does not work well on iPhones and iPads. And if you have to wait for a response from the velcom operator for more than three minutes, you will be rewarded with an additional traffic package. All operators will provide SIM cards of the required format without any problems: classic, microsim or applied.

Enjoy your trips and a stable Internet!

It is very convenient for Russians traveling to Belarus to use roaming from MTS. In some cases, it is even beneficial to use this service in Belarus, given that roaming is always much more expensive than communication in the home country. MTS offers packages of services with which you can call home and not only, use the Internet, send regular SMS.

Who can roaming?

To use MTS roaming in Belarus, Russian citizens, as a rule, need to have two tariffs on their phones. These are "International and National Roaming" and "International Access". The requirements of MTS are not limited to this. Only Russian residents, including legal entities, can connect these packages.

"International Access" is in addition to "International and National Roaming". The fact is that if the "International Access" is canceled, the service of calls outside the Russian Federation applies only to other regions of Russia.

What to do before leaving for Belarus?

If you don't want to go to the MTS office, you can activate roaming yourself. To do this, there are as many as 3 ways: connecting through a special command, which must be entered on a smartphone or other phone, ordering through the official MTS website in your personal account, and the contact center will help you connect to this service.

To connect to roaming using the USSD command, dial * 111 * 2192 #.

Using the Internet, the connection is made after a simple registration on the official MTS website - www.mts.ru. To do this, you need to select your region and use the "switch".

Has ample opportunities in addition to roaming. So, to enable roaming or to solve any other problem, you can use several suggested methods. Firstly, you can call the short number 0890 from a cell phone, and secondly, while in international and national roaming, dial the phone number +7 495 766 01 66 (be sure to start dialing exactly from +7), and thirdly , call from your home phone or from a non-MTS operator's number to 8 800 250 0890.

When is it impossible to activate roaming on your own?

Independent activation of MTS roaming for Belarus and trips to other countries can be performed in two cases. The first one is if the SIM card that needs to be connected to roaming is valid for less than 6 months and the balance on it is less than 600 rubles. The second is a SIM card younger than 12 months, and if during this period at least 1 month the payment was missed, that is, it was 0 rubles.

Connecting roaming through a communication salon or MTS office

Do not despair if your MTS number does not meet the conditions for self-connection. You can activate roaming at the MTS service center. What is needed for this? To do this, you will need to personally come to the MTS office or communication salon with a passport and have at least some kind of positive balance on your phone account. Also, the official representative of the subscriber can contact the service center for help. In this case, the power of attorney is drawn up through a notary.

But it will not always be possible to connect to roaming, even if you have visited the MTS office. But don't despair.

"Easy roaming and international access"

You can go to Belarus and some other countries, having previously connected to Easy Roaming and International Access. This service includes the ability to call and receive / send SMS to MTS in Belarus. Also, thanks to this service, you can use the Internet via your smartphone. But to use the Internet, you need to connect additional services, such as: "BIT abroad" and GPRS.

The "Easy Roaming and International Access" service does not require monthly fees, as well as payment for its activation or deactivation.

Corporate numbers and VIP tariffs with landline numbers, alas, will not be able to use this service to use MTS roaming in Belarus.

It should be remembered that this service is not available with all tariff plans, which should be clarified with the support service or at the MTS office. "Easy Roaming and International Access" cannot work together with "International and National Roaming". They are mutually disconnected, and if there is a need to re-switch to one of them, then you will have to connect it again, like the first time.

Cost of services in Belarus

MTS tariffs for roaming to Belarus are quite democratic in price, especially when it comes to Belarus itself, and of Russia too.

Thus, incoming calls from Russia and outgoing calls to Russia will cost 70 rubles per minute in roaming in Belarus. The same cost of calls within Belarus. If a call is made to one of the CIS countries, Georgia, South Ossetia or Abkhazia, then its cost increases to 109 rubles. A call to other countries via MTS roaming from Belarus will cost 135 rubles per minute.

All incoming SMS-messages in roaming in Belarus are free, and outgoing ones cost 10 rubles.

Internet with the "BIT Abroad" service will cost exactly 450 rubles per day, and without special services - 10 rubles for 40 KB of incoming or outgoing information.

Roaming service

The most convenient number for solving problems with MTS communication in Belarus is 0890. The fact is that Belarus is included in the so-called group of “countries of presence”. And therefore, while on the territory of this country, you can receive free consultations and assistance without using the generally accepted number for most countries +7 495 766 01 66.

Problems that have arisen can also be resolved in the Belarusian MTS showrooms. In addition, even roaming itself, if it has not been activated on the territory of Russia, can be activated in the Belarusian communication salon and make international calls from MTS.

All information on roaming, its tariffs and services can be obtained while on the territory of Belarus. To do this, enter the command * 111 * 33 # on the phone.

Already on the territory of Belarus, the phone should automatically select the operator MTS-Belarus. If this did not happen, then you just need to contact the communication salon with the question of how to connect MTS roaming in Belarus.

Payment

It is not difficult to pay for MTS services outside of Russia. There are many ways. As they say, choose your taste.

While abroad, your SIM card, as well as the personal account of another person, can be topped up with a MasterCard or Visa plastic card. To do this, you just need to call +7 495 766 01 66 and use the instructions of the voice menu. You cannot top up for less than 100 rubles when using this service.

It is possible to replenish an account from a card using the Internet in a smartphone. The link for this manipulation is www.pda.mts.ru/online.

You can temporarily get money on your phone at the expense of the operator. The Promised Payment service is here to help. In this case, from 50 to 800 rubles will appear on the phone at the expense of MTS. The company will withdraw the funds from the balance in 7 days. The cost of this service is only 5 rubles. You can also borrow 1,500 rubles, but this is if in total over the past 180 days the mobile account has been replenished with at least 1,500 rubles. In general, the available amount that can be borrowed by sending SMS to MTS depends on the amount of top-ups lately. You can find out this available amount, as well as use the service through the USSD command * 111 #.

It would be wise to download the Easy Payment application to your smartphone before going abroad. With it, you can easily top up your phone account not only in Belarus and other countries, but also in Russia without leaving your home.

You can ask your loved ones to top up your account by using the request "Top up my account". But relatives, in order to carry out this manipulation, can use the "Direct Transfer" service. Thus, you can replenish the balance from number to number MTS.

You can borrow money for a SIM card from MTS. For this there is a special service "On complete trust". But it should be remembered that in this case, the “Promised Payment” cannot be taken until the loan is repaid.

Well, the most convenient way to top up your phone account for calls from MTS to Belarus, Russia and other countries is to use the "Autopayment" service. "Autopayment" allows you not to think about paying your phone bill. With this service, money will be automatically debited from the card and credited to the account of the phone number. This can also be used on the territory of the Russian Federation.

In order not to face communication problems while visiting Belarus and to easily make international calls using your MTS SIM card, it is better to follow some simple recommendations.

  • Put the required amount of money on the phone in advance.
  • Learn about the tariffs of Belarus itself, while on the territory of this country. After all, they can also be used during the trip.
  • With frequent trips to Belarus, it makes sense to learn about discounts in roaming from MTS and use MTS Without Borders roaming.
  • It should be remembered that even 1 second in roaming is considered a full minute, which means that money for all the time less than a minute will be written off as in a whole minute. Roaming does not provide for any per second tariffication.
  • It is necessary to replenish the account on the territory of Belarus, but the safest thing is to have the “Full Trust” service on the phone. The availability of this service allows you to use communication services with zero and negative balance.

Thus, using the Russian MTS in Belarus is not so expensive. In addition, it is gratifying that any problem with MTS communication on the territory of this country can be dealt with. But still, when leaving for the Republic of Belarus, it is better to play it safe once again and connect all services and packages in advance and always stay in touch.
