How to install tempered glass. We glue the protective glass and film on the phone

Scratches and cracks on the iPhone glass can appear completely at any time. But this can be avoided.

Scratches will appear sooner or later, even the cover will not save. The back panel will not stand everything in the world, scratches cannot be avoided. It is enough to place the smartphone on a dirty, uneven, rough surface, and spoiled appearance is provided.

Agree, not everyone wants to use a device that looks like a brick. Everything scratched, unpleasant to the touch, and so on.

or so (even worse) ...

And no one is protected from a smartphone falling to the floor. Lift it up and see that a "cobweb" has spread all over the screen or the back of the flagship.

You will have to change the screen or the back panel. It costs a lot of money, especially in the case of - up to 35,000 rubles for just one screen. And about 7,000 rubles for a broken back panel. That's about 42,000 rubles if your iPhone X cracks on both sides.

Is protective glass the solution?

Consider the option with protection screen :

First, it becomes completely closed... Hence the obvious plus - no scratches will appear on it.

Secondly, very strong glasses have now appeared. Therefore, do not worry that you drop your iPhone and it shatters to smithereens. In 80% of cases, glass will protect.

Thirdly, there are glass options when the thickness of the device practically does not change. You won't notice the difference.

Consider a protection option back panel .

When replacing a protective glass on a smartphone, few people do not worry about following the rules and perform re-gluing with improvised tools. As a result: scratches remain on the phone, the coating is uneven, covered with bubbles, or simply does not stick tightly

Instructions: how to install a protective glass on your phone

We have prepared a short instruction manual for those who want to install the glass on their own.

The article contains basic information, but for completeness, we recommend watching a video with a detailed description of the installation steps.

Removing old glass: what is important to remember

You have to understand that glass does not stick to the screen because of a special adhesive coating. The adhesion of the film to the smooth surface of the touchscreen is due to static. An attempt to remove it by prying it with your fingernail or (much worse) with a knife will result in damage to the screen and the phone case.

Even using a special suction cup can lead to unpleasant consequences. Remember, do everything smoothly. Pressing firmly on the Velcro, you risk damaging the cables or tearing off the screen module. A vacuum is formed between the glass and the film, which will resist the adhesion of the coatings. But even if the suction cup adheres well to the film, there is a chance of damage to the sensor when removing the protective glass. Therefore, proceed consistently and carefully.

What to prepare for installing a protective glass:

    a pick (or a thin plastic card) - it is better to take 2 pieces;

    silicone suction cup (if you already have experience with reinstallation, you can do without Velcro);

    a napkin or a piece of lint-free cloth;

    an alcohol-based glass cleaner (pure alcohol or perfume will also work);

    medical gloves (silicone or rubber).

When armed with these tools, the work will take less than two minutes.

Brief description of the process

Make sure your hands are free of dust or lint before starting work. It is impossible to see the smallest particles on your fingers, so play it safe and wear medical gloves. They are thin and fit snugly on the arm, so they will not interfere with your work.

Next, install the suction cup on the area of \u200b\u200bthe phone with damaged glass, where there are fewer fragments and cracks. Gently attach the Velcro to the corner of the screen, and then press down slightly, glue it to the glass. Take the pick and pull the suction cup towards you, only gradually increase the force, otherwise the glass will come off along with the screen.

As soon as you feel that the glass is peeling, deepen the pick.

When the glass around the perimeter peels off ~ 80%, feel free to pull the suction cup and tear off the old screen.

We glue new glass

Remove dust and fingerprints before applying a new coating. A lint-free napkin is suitable for this: first moisten the screen with a glass cleaner and degrease the surface with a prepared cloth.

Take the protective glass by the edges (put on gloves first).

Carefully remove the adhesive protective surface on the film (keep the glass near the phone, otherwise air dust will stick while you carry the film).

Place the glass as close to the screen as possible (align with the center, make sure that all openings for buttons, connectors and the camera pass through the film).

Slowly lower the protective covering onto the screen, press down and smooth from the center to the corners at the same time. Use a dry, lint-free cloth or a thin plastic card to do this.

    Remove the shipping protection tape.

It is not always possible to glue the glass to the phone without getting dust and lint. If you see that there are debris under the film, peel off the glass exactly to the place where there is dirt.

You can also use a compressor, a technical vacuum cleaner, or a can of compressed air to blow out dust particles.

If you don't have anything at hand, use tweezers.

Once the dirt is removed, stick the glass back.

To protect your phone screen from minor scratches and bumps, use a special protective glass. You can buy it at any store that sells mobile phones. After making a purchase, you only have one task left - to properly stick the protective glass on your phone. Find out how.

How to stick a protective glass on your phone - preparation

Before you unpack the glass, clean your work area and phone:

  • Wipe the table with a damp cloth or sponge and a special furniture cleaner. Wait for the surface to dry. It is important to get rid of the dust that can get on the phone as much as possible.
  • The phone must be turned off while gluing the glass.
  • Take a cloth and wipe the phone screen.
  • Use a damp smartphone cleaner to wipe the screen surface. If you have eyeglass wipes, you can use them too.
  • Dry the display with a dry cloth to remove unnecessary smudges and fingerprints.

The process of gluing a protective glass to the phone

All manipulations must be done very quickly. Stick the glass in this way:

  • First, carefully remove the film from the protective glass without touching it.
  • Place the protective glass optimally over the phone, fix and gently attach to the display. The gluing process takes place on its own, all you need to do is to make sure that there are no swellings and small dust particles.
  • If air still gets inside, then you haven't cleaned the phone surface well enough. Take a damp cloth and, using light pressure, walk across the screen to release the air.
  • Wait a couple of minutes and turn on your phone. Check sensor operation.

Features of protective glass for phone

Be sure to consider the following features of the safety glass:

  • There are two types of protective glasses: glossy and matte. The latter are considered more durable and protect the phone not only in case of shock, but also in case of falls, and also minimize glare.
  • Frosted glass to some extent degrades the color rendering of the display.
  • Opt for glass with an oleophobic coating to prevent grease from staining the screen.
  • The glass should not bend too much. The thicker it is, the better protection your phone will have.
  • Buy a safety glass complete with a spare glass and all the necessary cleaning wipes.

Now you know how to glue the protective glass on your phone yourself and what preparatory work to do before gluing. Protect your phone from possible damage and it will serve you for many years.

When buying a new smartphone, you want to keep the presentation of the gadget as long as possible.

That is why it is customary to buy protective glasses or films along with the phone. With their help, the screen of the device can be protected from chips and scratches that form at the earliest opportunity. We will tell you how to properly stick a protective film or glass at home.

Protective glass or film: which to choose?

When choosing a protective mechanism, each user asks the question - which is better? It is impossible to unequivocally answer this question, since each remedy has its pluses and minuses.

Protective glass provides reliability when the phone is dropped, but at the same time increases its thickness. The film is practically invisible during operation, and also costs an order of magnitude cheaper, but the level of protection is lower. Despite the differences in certain parameters (degree of protection, price, durability), the principle of gluing these elements is the same.

Most of the protective accessories have a short instruction on the sticker, but the manufacturers are silent about some factors, so we will analyze each item on the shelves.

Site preparation and accessories

Prepare your workplace. Wipe down the table where the decal process will take place. It is recommended to place a desk lamp over the phone in order to better see the "problem areas" on the screen. In addition, do not forget to wash your hands with soap and dry them.

There are usually tools included with glass or film. In most cases, the kit looks like this:

  1. Green sachet "dry" - a dry cloth for cleaning the screen.
  2. Pink sachet "wet" - a damp cloth for cleaning the display.
  3. Microfiber cloth, which reduces the likelihood of "picking up" dust particles.

The first step is glass cleaning. Place your phone on the table. Pick up a napkin labeled "wet" (sometimes it is even numbered with the number one). Wipe the smartphone screen with a damp cloth. Try to wipe the display so that no dust is visible in the light.

The second stage is “drying”. Now take a second cloth labeled "dry" (by analogy with the previous cloth numbered number two) and wipe the screen dry. Please note that fingers should not touch the display.

The third stage is "intermediate". Some manufacturers include adhesive tape in the kit to further rid the screen of dust particles. If there is such a tool, just stick it on the display and peel it off after a couple of seconds.

Working with glass

Take a protective film or glass in your hands. Take a good look at her. Manufacturers supply protective devices with a special tab to make it easier for a person to peel off the "adhesive" part.

Having carefully peeled off the "sticky part", take the special glass by the "ribs" and begin to slowly apply it to the phone. It is imperative that the edges of the film and screen match up. Do not press on the display while “aiming”.

Let go of the glass. While it gradually adheres, make sure there are no dust or bubbles anywhere. If no problems are found, effortlessly (lightly) slide your finger across the center of the screen. If you notice air bubbles, pick up a dry cloth and push them towards the edges of the display.

Once you are sure that there are no dust or air bubbles left under the glass, wipe the display again with a dry cloth.

Dust as a separate problem

There is a chance you will notice a speck of dust after completing the procedure. In such cases, it will be necessary to re-raise the glass. This operation can be performed using a bank card. Additionally, take a small strip of stationery tape.

  1. Pick up the edge of the glass that is closest to the speck of dust.
  2. Stick a piece of scotch tape in the problem area
  3. Tear it off the screen quickly.
  4. Return the protective glass to its original position.

Safety glasses show superiority over conventional films. They have a scratch-resistant hard coating, higher light transmittance and a smoother surface.

There are various studies on the effectiveness of glass protection panels, which boil down to the fact that they can really protect your iPhone's screen from damage! Of course, glass is not a guarantee of absolute safety against strong shocks, but it can really save you money if the phone falls on hard surfaces. Remember, it is always faster and cheaper to replace the screen protector than the display of the device itself.
