Simplicity and utmost convenience, the ability to send text messages and files of various formats to any inhabitant of the planet through their own mail account, as well as sending almost at the speed of light, could not but please users.

Since the active development of Internet technologies, all kinds of postal services have become widespread, which provided functionality for sending and receiving letters via the Internet and this was done using a web interface. However, the capabilities of the mail web interface are far from perfect, and this shortcoming has given rise to a considerable number of more or less successful computer programs for working with e-mail. One of the most popular programs in this segment is the multifunctional application Microsoft Outlook in Russian.

To download Outlook mail for free in Russian, you need to use the installer of one of the following office suites: Office 2013, Office 2016 or the universal web version of Office 365 on a computer with Windows or Mac OS. You can, of course, use older releases, for example, such as 2007 or 2010, but we recommend that you pay attention to the latest releases in view of the extended functionality and compatibility with most popular mail services. In this case, setting up outlook for yandex or mail.ru will not cause any difficulties at all.

This is due to the fact that many users could not correctly configure Yandex mail in outlook due to not knowing which server of incoming Yandex mail to indicate and what type of protocol to use for incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP). Because of this, the entrance to the mail was difficult. This also applied to other well-known postal services such as Google, Yahoo, etc.

Today, from the once little-known Microsoft Outlook application, we received not just a program for working with mail, but a full-fledged effective mechanism in the person of an excellent information manager supplied as part of the Microsoft Office suite.

A common mistake can be called the fact that users often confuse this client with the Outlook Express application - it is also a mail software, but these are still completely different programs with different goals.

An indisputable advantage is its ability to work not with one mail account, but with several at once - for each of them the application creates and maintains its own account. Thus, you can configure receiving Outlook mail for yandex, mail.ru, google, rambler, as well as many other services and your own sweat servers.

In addition, the email client works with newsgroups, and also allows you to take full advantage of not one user, but several - each of them has their own identity. But even this would not have made Outlook so popular if it were not for the additional modes that provide a huge array of possibilities.

Contact management

The "Contacts" mode was originally created in order to collect and store information about the correspondents to whom messages are sent and from whom mail is received. However, the regime subsequently developed into an effective option to store in electronic form information about any of its contacts, including not only business communication, but also personal interactions. Among other things, the program uses a modern computer Internet environment and is able to provide information taken from social networks about any contact.

Tasks

The "Tasks" mode is a complete list of activities important for the user of the program. Moreover, the event subject to fulfillment or participation may contain the dates of its beginning and end, or it may be indicated without them.

Event management

The "Calendar" mode is required not only to remember what date it is, but also in order not to forget about the important matters of today with an accuracy of the minute - meetings, appointments or any other events. If necessary, Outlook can inform any necessary correspondents about a meeting or meeting using a variety of communication channels, from local network and e-mail to fax messages.

Documentation

The "Diary" mode records any actions that the Outlook user performed at the computer - working with documents, mail, talking on the phone. In addition to them, the mode allows you to keep records in the style of an ordinary classic diary, if there is a need for it.

Create notes

The "Notes" mode in outlook is more like a handy notebook - here you can make any note as soon as the corresponding idea occurs to the user.
Both the main functionality and additional modes are learned very easily and quickly, so the program is relatively simple to use, and the design of the software controls turned out to be a harmonious and beautiful addition to all its capabilities. Therefore, if you have already wondered how to set up Outlook and do not know where to start, then pay attention to the simple and convenient help system called by the F1 button.

Among these features, the great idea of \u200b\u200bthe developers is especially distinguished - organization of operational activities... The name, which is incomprehensible at first, hides the ability to perform a certain standard set of actions by pressing just one button - this is incredibly convenient and saves time.

Another pleasant quality of the mail client is the ability to structure the array of messages: the application will demonstrate the complete sequence of messages, which, if necessary, will help to find any desired letter, the answer to it, and all related messages in this sequence. If the message flow turns out to be excessively long, it can be divided into an arbitrary number of shorter chains - each of them can be deleted, archived or divided into arbitrary categories.

General short list of Microsoft Outlook features:

  • interaction with many popular mail services, connecting to an account in a few clicks;
  • allows you to work with a large number of mail accounts at the same time;
  • cross-platform (Microsoft Outlook can be downloaded for free for Android, iOS, Mac OS, and of course Windows.
  • in the absence of access to a PC, it is possible to work with mail via the Internet version of the program - Outlook.com
  • the ability to recover messages that were deleted long ago;
  • detailed and high-quality localization of the interface (good support for the Russian language);

  • allows you to keep all user contacts in one place for easy administration and synchronization with mobile devices;
  • the ability to download Microsoft Outlook for free in Russian (depending on the type of subscription and license).

Convenient mail interface

In order to find all the messages from the interlocutor we need, just open the view and you can see all the correspondence with the contact of interest, as well as any tasks and calendar events that include.

As a building block of an office suite, Microsoft Outlook has excellent work synchronization with Microsoft Word, and adds automatic diary and document tracking to the user's experience.

Considerable features of the program are aimed at ensuring that user time is spent as efficiently as possible, and the efficiency of its actions is maximized, but a large number of users choose simpler mail clients, since Outlook, with all its versatility, is not as easy to use as its counterparts. But if this does not scare you, you can safely download the version of the program in Russian.

We also walked through the process of configuring Windows Mail and Microsoft Outlook Express to receive and send e-mail from a computer. Today, continuing this topic, we will examine the configuration of other mail programs: Outlook Office 2007 and Outlook Office 2003, and try to understand where and how to find the correct parameters for configuring mail programs. As an example, we will use an abstract mailbox on www.mail.ru with the name and password password

Configuring mail in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 is included in the 2007 Microsoft Office suite of programs. To start Outlook 2007, open Start - Programs - Microsoft Office and select Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. If this program is not listed, then it is not installed on your PC. You need to run the installation of Microsoft Office 2007 and select Office Outlook to install on your computer.
To configure Outlook 2007 to work with your email inbox, you need to create a new email account. To do this, in the "Tools" menu, select "Account Settings".

When a delegate replies to a meeting on your behalf, the meeting is automatically added to the Calendar folder. To send a message to the delegate to notify you of the rights that you changed, select the checkbox. Check the box if desired. Unable to access private items in the same folder. Messages sent with Send by Name permission include the delegate's name and a header next to the From field.

Change delegate rights

When you send a message with Send As permission, only the header name appears. To send a message to the delegate to indicate the permissions that you changed, select the Automatically send a message to the delegate with active permissions check box. If you want a delegate to send copies of meeting requests and responses, you must assign editor permissions to the Calendar folder and then select Delegate to receive a copy of the meeting messages that are sent to me to send.

Rejection of Automatic Translation Obligations: This article was translated using a computer system without human intervention. Since this article has been translated with automatic translations, it is possible that it contains vocabulary, syntax, or grammar errors. In these tutorials, we'll try to solve many of the common problems people have when starting up in the computer world.

Check "Internet Email" and click "Next".

Enter the details to access your email:

the name that will be displayed in letters in the "From" field;
your email address, for example;
servers of incoming and outgoing mail (for mail.ru this is);
data for access to e-mail: user (the same as the mailbox name) and password for access to mail (in our example, this is password);
check the "Remember password" box so that you do not enter it every time you receive and send mail.

Setting up a new mailbox with already configured users

One of the most common problems is setting up our mailbox in the email manager. To set up a mailbox, we can find two cases. Let's create a new mailbox with already configured users. ... This is the appearance of our mail manager when we have previously configured the mailbox. As you can see, on the left we have our accounts and the different folders that we have.

To add a new mailbox, we need to go to the leftmost tab called "File" and click on it. When we select this tab, we will find the next screen. We will get the next screen which will configure all configured mailboxes, and here we will have options to add, change or delete mailboxes.

But that is not all. For the mail.ru service, in this window, you must specify additional settings for sending messages. Click the "Other settings" button and in the window that appears, go to the "Outgoing mail server" tab. Check the boxes "SMTP server requires authentication" and "Same as incoming mail server". Click OK.

If we click Create, we will skip the pop-up window where we can enter the configuration of our new mailbox. With the first option, "Email Account", we allow the manager to automatically detect the configuration of our email account.

Let's choose the second option. And we come to where we should go into the configuration of our account. Your name: This is our name that will be published as an email. Email Address: Our email address. Incoming mail server: This field depends on where you registered your domain.

These settings are necessary so that no one can send spam on your behalf.

Already at the stage of creating an e-mail account, you can check the correctness of the specified settings. To do this, click the "Account Check" button.

Outgoing mail server: similar to the previous section. Username: Your hosting server depends here as well, but usually your username is the same email address. Password: The password you entered to access your account.

The last thing we need to do is enter "Advanced Settings" and on the Outgoing Server tab, check the box that says our server requires authentication. In this case, our account will already be configured and operational.

No previously configured mailbox

From here, the rest of the steps are the same as in the previous section. A shared mailbox is a mailbox that multiple users can open to read and send e-mail messages. Shared mailboxes can also be used to provide a shared calendar, allowing multiple users to plan and view vacation days or work shifts.

Office Outlook will try to connect to the incoming and outgoing mail servers and notify you of the result.

Now in the window "Add a new email account" you can click the "Next" button. The program will inform you about the creation of the box and the successful application of the settings. Click Finish.

Shared mailboxes are not supported on mobile devices. Why set up a shared mailbox? Provides a general email address that customers can use to inquire about your company. This allows department staff to provide centralized services to staff answering staff questions. Allows multiple users to track and respond to email messages sent to an address. Shared mailboxes allow a specific group of people to track and send email from a shared account, such as public email addresses.

You will see the email account you just created in the list. If in the future you want to change any of its settings, use the "Change" button. To delete an account, select it in the list and select "Delete".

How to connect social networks

When a person in a group replies to a message sent to a shared mailbox, the recipient of the message is the shared mailbox, not an individual user. Shared mailboxes are a great way to manage customer email requests because multiple people in your organization can share responsibility for monitoring a mailbox and responding to requests. This way, customer inquiries are answered more quickly and related emails are stored in a single inbox.

OneDrive cloud storage

Shared mailboxes do not have their own username or password, such as user mailboxes. You can use the following permissions with a shared mailbox. Full Control Full Control allows a user to log into a shared mailbox and act as the owner of that mailbox. After accessing the shared mailbox, the user can create calendar items; Reading, viewing, deleting and modifying email messages; Create calendar tasks and contacts. However, a user with Full Control privileges cannot send e-mail messages from a shared mailbox unless they have Send As or In the Permissions field. Send As Allow Send As allows a user to impersonate a shared mailbox when sending an email message. Send on behalf of the Send on behalf permission allows you to Send messages on behalf of a shared mailbox. Just select the service you use and enter the access password so that the software automatically configures all technical details, leaving it to the user to simply read and send messages in any way.

The Account Setup Wizard starts. Check the box "add a new email account" and click "Next".

In the window with the choice of the server type, mark "POP3" for mailboxes on mail.ru, yandex.ru, etc. and click Next.

Go to the Outgoing Mail Server tab and check the following options: SMTP Server Requires Authentication and Same as Incoming Mail Server. Click "OK" to apply the settings.

Go to the Advanced tab and Server Limits option, from Short 1 Minute drag Long 5 Minutes. In the Delivery section, turn off Leave a copy of messages on the server. Click Apply and then OK. Your account has been set up successfully.

Step 3: Double click on the email to open your account properties. This screen will appear to set up your account following the settings already posted. Click Option 10 - Advanced Settings. It will open the next screen where you will need to follow the next steps.

As in Outlook 2007, you will be able to check if the settings are correct by clicking the "Account Check" button.

To complete the process of creating an account, click "Next", and in the next window "Finish".

Unfortunately, in Outlook 2003, the newly created account is not automatically shown in the list. To view it, select the "Email Accounts" item in the "Service" menu. In the window that opens, check the option "view or change existing accounts" and click "Next".

In the list, you will see the email entry you just created. To change its settings, use the "Change" button, and to delete, respectively, "Delete". From the same window, you can start the process of adding a new email account by clicking "Add".

That is where we will finish reviewing the configuration of the mail programs of the Microsoft Office Outlook family and move on to finding the necessary options on mail services.

How to find settings for your mail program

We all use different postal services. Someone likes mail.ru, someone is used to yandex.ru, and someone has mail on a site like the Settings entered into the mail program will be different for all these services.
Naturally, the name of the mailbox and the password to it are clear things. But where to get the names of the POP3 and SMTP servers, how do you know if you need authentication to send mail or not? These questions can only be answered by the owner of the site or hosting on which your mailbox is registered.
Let's try ourselves in the role of Sherlock Holmes and find the settings we need. Let's start with mail.ru.
Having entered the mailbox on mail.ru, pay attention to the "help" link in the upper right corner.

By clicking on it, you will be taken to the Information Center of the postal system. Help items are located on the left: select "Access to the mailbox from mobile devices and from mail programs", and in the drop-down list "Mail programs, accounts, POP3 and SMTP servers".

By clicking on the link "General settings of mail programs" you will see the options that must be entered in the corresponding fields of your mail program.
Having dealt with mail.ru, let's turn our eyes to yandex.ru. The logic is the same: we need to find help for the mail service, in which it will be written in plain English which POP3 and SMTP servers to use in the mail program settings.
Yandex hid the link to the help right in the very bottom right corner of the page. But we, as professional detectives, quickly found her there.

By clicking on the link, we see a decent help system (http://help.yandex.ru/mail/index.xml) for working with the mail service. In the section "Working with mail without a web interface" - "Mail clients", we can easily find the names of the required incoming and outgoing mail servers: pop.yandex.ru and smtp.yandex.ru. There is also reference information on setting up mail programs for working with mail from Yandex.
For completeness, let's check if Rambler has a similar help system. We go into our rambler-mail, and immediately the "Help" link in the upper right corner catches our eyes.

Following the link, we see the Rambler mail service help system. The information we need is in the "Using E-mail Programs, POP3, IMAP and SMTP Server" section. Here are given not only the names of the POP3 and SMTP servers (which, by the way, are the same - mail.rambler.ru), but also step-by-step instructions in pictures for setting up various mail programs.
As you can see, it is quite easy to find the required settings. Other mail and not so mail services also have a Help section where you can find the options you need to configure your favorite mail program.

So what should mailbox owners do on non-public servers? If you have mail on a corporate or your own website, check with your ISP or hoster for the settings. Surely he has a "Help" or "Help" section on the portal. As a last resort, you can call the technical support service and ask what settings should be specified in the mail program for receiving / sending mail from a computer.
On this we, perhaps, will end today's story about setting up email. Enjoy your communication!

E-mail is increasingly replacing conventional postage from use. The number of users sending correspondence via the Internet is increasing every day. In this regard, there was a need to create special user programs that would facilitate this task, would make receiving and sending e-mail more convenient. One of these applications is Microsoft Outlook. Let's find out how you can create an email account on the Outlook.com mail service and then connect it to the above client program.

Mail registration on the Outlook.com service is done through any browser. We drive the address Outlook.com into the address bar of the browser. The web browser redirects to live.com. If you already have a registration record with Microsoft, which is the same for all services of this company, then simply enter your phone number, email address or your username in Skype, click on the "Next" button.

If you do not have an account with Microsoft, then click on the inscription "Create it".

The Microsoft registration form opens in front of us. In its upper part, enter the first and last name, an arbitrary username (it is important that it is not occupied by anyone), a password for entering the account (2 times), country of residence, date of birth, and gender.

At the bottom of the page, an additional email address (from another service) and a phone number are recorded. This is done so that the user can more reliably protect his account, and in the event of a password loss, he can restore access to it.

Be sure to enter a captcha for the system to check that you are not a robot, and click on the "Create an account" button.

After that, a record appears that you need to request a code via SMS to confirm the fact that you are a real person. Enter your mobile phone number, and click on the "Send code" button.

After the code has come to the phone, we enter it in the appropriate form, and click on the "Create an account" button. If the code does not come for a long time, then click on the "Code not received" button, and enter your other phone (if available), or try again with the old number.

If everything is fine, then after clicking the "Create an account" button, the Microsoft welcome window will open. Click on the triangle-shaped arrow on the right side of the screen.

In the next window, we indicate the language in which we want to see the e-mail interface, and also set our time zone. After you have indicated these settings, click on the same arrow.

In the next window, select the theme for the background of your Microsoft account from those offered. Click on the arrow again.

In the last window, you have the option to indicate the original signature at the end of the messages you send. If nothing is changed, then the signature will be the standard: "Sent: Outlook". Click on the arrow.

After that, a window opens, which says that the account in Outlook has been created. Click on the "Next" button.

The user is moved to their Outlook mail account.

Linking an account to a client program

Now you need to link the created account on Outlook.com to Microsoft Outlook. Go to the "File" menu section.

In the window that opens, in the "E-mail" tab, click on the "Create" button.

A window for selecting a service opens in front of us. Leave the switch in the "Email Account" position, in which it is located by default, and click on the "Next" button.

The account settings window opens. In the "Your name" column, enter your first and last name (you can use a pseudonym), under which you previously registered on the Outlook.com service. In the column "E-mail" we indicate the full address of the mailbox on Outlook.com, registered earlier. In the next columns "Password" and "Password check", enter the same password that was entered during registration. Then, click on the "Next" button.

The process begins to connect to your Outlook.com account.

Then, a dialog box may appear, in which you should again enter your username and password to your account on Outlook.com, and click on the "OK" button.

After the completion of the automatic configuration, a message will appear stating this. Click on the "Finish" button.

Then, you should restart the application. This will create a custom Outlook.com profile in Microsoft Outlook.

As you can see, creating an Outlook.com mailbox in Microsoft Outlook consists of two steps: creating an account through a browser on the Outlook.com service, and then linking this account to the Microsoft Outlook client program.

To customize the program Microsoft Office Outlook to work with your mailbox, you need to add a new account.

To set up an account, you will need the following data:

  • your name, which will be displayed in the "From" field for the recipients of your correspondence.
  • Mailbox address: your mailbox address in full with the domain name (for example, [email protected]).
  • Login: name of your mailbox without domain (for example, user).
  • Password: password for your mailbox.
  • : for example, smtp.km.ru / Port: 25 (using STARTTLS encryption is possible) or port: 465 (SSL encryption is possible). SMTP server for sending mail requires authorization, it must be enabled in the outgoing mail server settings.
  • Incoming mail server (POP3): for example, pop.km.ru / Port: 110 (using STARTTLS encryption is possible).
  • Incoming mail server (IMAP): for example, imap.km.ru / Port: 993 (SSL encryption is possible).

The process of adding a new account is similar for different versions of Microsoft Office Outlook. Differences may be in the organization of the main menu and some names of the settings fields. Below is an example of setting up a mailbox in the interface Microsoft Office Outlook 2013.

If you are using a different version of the program, it will also be useful for you to read the example. To proceed to creating a new account in other versions of MS Outlook, carefully review the main menu and find the item. For example, for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, on the main menu, select "Service"then "Setting up accounts ..."... In the window that appears, click the button "Create ..." (see Fig. 2), subsequent settings will be similar to the example described below.

You can also go to setting up MS Outlook accounts through windows control panel... To do this, click on the menu button "Start", select item "Control Panel"... In the list that opens, find "Post office" - a window will appear "Mail Setup - Outlook" (see Fig. 1). Click the button "Accounts" - the list of current accounts will be loaded. To add a new account, click the button "Create ..." (see Fig. 2).
